We're a key state, i hear. The keystone state even. So you'd think that for the election, things would be all ready to go for the big day, right? But nooooooooo!Dumb-ass machines in Pennsylvania - Instructions said "Choose the party of your choice, and then choose candidates you want other than those chosen (automatically)" so I hit a party, and started to change the auto-chosen ones. "NOPE- You've already chosen the maximum number of candidates" the machine told me. So I had to call for help. "Don't choose a party this time" the poll worker told me, "just the people you want." So then, why did the instructions say to choose a party?

Argh! Why doesn't every state get rid of straight ticket voting? Just confuses the issue. NH did away with it starting with this election, forcing you to choose each candidate individually. In the past, you could either vote for every candidate from one party (straight ticket) or piecemeal. The problem starts when you attempt to do both, and of course the damn machines get confused. Also, the instructions should have clearly said: if you intend to vote straight ticket. (make your choice of party) If they didn't, that's bad wording.

At least you guys are getting out to vote... we had the lowest-ever voter turnout last month... 59.1 %!
Last I checked, it was Obama 103, McCain 49.

Map of results: maps.google.com/help/maps/elections/#2008_electionObama 202 EV's, McCain 75.. Which means with the presumably very safe west coast states which add up to 73 electoral votes, that it is comfortably over the 270 EV's needed. Probably will be other states going to Obama, but that's just icing on the cake. They won't project the winner on MSM, but it's now obvious IMO.

Well, for better or worse, it looks like President Obama.
You know (this is just my observation), but I find it interesting that the electoral college map almost looks like the division of states during the civil war. Now whether or not that means anything, I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

I thought the electoral vote was something instituted a long time ago for certain reasons back then. Will someone explain why it's necessary now? If it's a popular vote, why not just count 'em up and see who wins? Is the college really needed?

Well, for better or worse, it looks like President Obama. You know (this is just my observation), but I find it interesting that the electoral map almost looks like the division of states during the civil war. Now whether or not that means anything, I guess we'll just have to wait and see... I live in the South and everyone I know.....well, ALMOST everyone I know voted for Obama. As did I. I have confidence in him, so I choose to support him. It is time for Change. You know, this whole last week I made the mistake of leaving my car radio et to a certain AM station that, gosh, seems to me now that they play only Republican-Right Wing idealogues all day and night. Rush Limbaugh, Neil Bortz, Michael Medvid, Mike Savage, and on and on. I am so bad; it has to to the point where I get in my car, listen a moment, and start screaming at the radio, which, on this station, seems to have reached a pitch during this election of Maximum Republican Pep Rally/Democrat Naysayers. The final outrage was the other day. I must preface by saying that I do have strong religious beliefs, I do consider myself a Christian, though perhaps not a fundy in a lot of senses; but this thing I heard REALLY got to me. I went on a tear. I won't go on a tear hear about it, but I will present a mini-version of what I heard. I forget the host; he was very conservative and African American. One of his callers calls in, and starts right in on Barack Obama. She is articulate, prosperous (from some things she said) and attends a mage church in the area; she is also African-American. She goes on like so: Well, I truly feel sorry for ally my brothers and sisters who are being mislead by this man, because, I agree with you (to the host) he IS he anti-Christ. I mean, he just has to be, by the way he is popular in Europe and everything. I mean, he mesmerizes the crowds with his speech. And let me tell you, and I agree with my preacher, that since we are in the Last Days, that all of those people mislead by him are not going to be supernaturally protected from the coming tribulation like we are, all of us that voted for McCain. Those people are going to face hell for giving into Obama. It's like I hear God saying to me: I will bless those who go with McCain and curse those who go with Obama..... Of all the brain washed stupidity. I flew into high bitch and HAD to shut down the radio for the rest of the way home just to keep from blowing a spiritual gasket. Am I judgemental? Am I losing it? Maybe I am. All afternoon I had the radio on, and all the talking heads were doing EVERYTHING they could, pulling out ALL of the stops, having guest on, doing scream sessions, everything to warn people how the country would fall apart if Obama got elected. It was an afternoon of the most blatant, obvious mind fudging propaganda I EVER heard. One guy predicted riots, failure of the economy, loss of the constitution, the end of coal, gas and oil as energy forever, and worse. I gotta stop. I guess most of you have heard all the same stuff too. I really was moved by McCain's classy consession speach. goodnight

These types weary me... No, Doc, you're not being judgmental... they are. Judgment begins at the house of God, and she needs to think about what she said. I know at least one of my family voted Obama, I haven't talked to my other 5 siblings, their parents and kids which quickly adds up to 20 or so and I am offended that they've already condemned them all to hell, especially since one of my sisters is a cancer survivor at the top of my prayer list, and the God I serve is upholding her. I don't know why people who call themselves Christian keep trying to avoid what is already pre-destined to happen, as if the Word of God can be altered by how America votes. What ignorance. Can't they see it's not about who wins, it won't matter, the end result is the same. The NWO is coming no matter who's "in charge", whether we like it or not. I vote NOT. ^&R*#)$_@_#%(@_ Anyways... congrats to the ones whose vote went the way you wanted...

The McCain concession speech ended a bit WEIRDLY last night.
Watch and listen from the 4:47 mark until the end, and explain to me what he meant when he said that "nothing is inevitable."
I just can't make it make sense in the context, unless it's some sort of sinister Freudian slip.
"I call on all Americans, as I have often in this campaign, to not despair of our present difficulties, but to believe always in the promise and greatness of America. Because NOTHING IS INEVITABLE HERE. Americans never quit, we never surrender, we never hide from history, we make history."
Is he consoling his flock by suggesting that Obama's coronation is NOT inevitable???

Doc/Girl, My mom has been fighting cancer for the past 3 years and I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to get her to take magnesium, as there is LOTS of evidence that cancer is caused by magnesium deficiency, much like Rickets is caused by calcium deficiency. I'm afraid that she places too much confidence in the medical community, and i suppose humanity in general, and refuses to consider that corporations are in business to make money for their stock holders, NOT to provide the best possible products (i.e. a cure for cancer). Of course, the pharmaceutical industry can't patent magnesium, so its cancer fighting qualities have been swept under the mainstream rug, but read this, and do some of your own research. It can't hurt, and it just might help. www.naturalnews.com/023279.htmlGood luck.

The Bushes vacationed with the bin Ladens. The Obamas pal around with Weathermen Ayers and Dohrn. We've just swapped one set of terrorists for another. The BEATLES connection here is that The Weathermen cheered Charlie Manson's attempts to start a Helter-Skelter race war.
It baffles me that anyone could read this forum for five years and be gullible enough to vote for any of these clowns.

I'm so sick of the propaganda campaign (read: brainwashing the masses) I could puke.... blood
I really think McCain was supposed to lose. It all went too smoothly to not be set-up.
Obama's marketing was one of the best managed ever. Last night, when he was giving his speech, it was a bit creepy how the masses would say "yes we can" everytime he would say it. Seems most people are buying into the rhetoric.
In other news, the Illuminati are having their big post-election party.
*cut to elaborate chamber with 12 men in the shadows sitting around a table*
"My friends, the big day has finally arrived. Senator McCain has completed his final mission in running this false campaign. His deceptive usage of Governor Palin was brilliant. He was indispensable in setting up Senator Obama, the Democratic savior, for complete and utter failure. President Bush, Vice President Cheney, and their Administration have worked tirelessly these last eight years to make this possible. The foray into Iraq, the bludgeoning deficit, the economy teetering on the verge of a massive crash have been attained through hard work and dedication on their part to the agenda. For that, their efforts must never be forgotten."

Well, it does make one wonder about that "set up to fail" possibility when you consider the Palin choice. Because, anyone with two functioning brain cells could have figured out how that would be received by a certain section of the populace which was all set to vote for McCain. Energized the "base", well terrific, but they were energized anyway. A woman? "Just because she's a woman", if that was the thought process, was insulting to a great many women. Whether it was or not, it was perceived that way, and perception has as much power or more than the real intent. Total has been working tirelessly to keep us informed about Obama, did your best.. I'm curious, were you a McCain supporter, or are you rejecting the whole Democorp/Republicorp paradigm? I always figured you for that type of guy? I didn't see any unearthing of any McCain dirty laundry, so I suspect not. Why a lifelong Republican voted for Obama: market-ticker.org/archives/645-Before-You-Vote,-Read-This.html

This looks like as good a place as any to come up for air... I'm not even gonna try to get caught up around here! My living here in the odessa/midland TX area makes it a little futile to vote for anyone other than a Bush clone. If elections were based on straight popular vote, that'd be different, but what good is 1 vote for Ron Paul (or Obama) gonna do in w.tx? People here are actually quite proud to be living in Bush's fake-make-believe-"hometown". You'll see a big sign proclaiming that fact as you drive into Midland. Shouldn't everybody be angry & embarrassed? People here have Fox Noize blaring all day in their homes & businesses and actually believe what they are told... right down the line. McCain/Palin signs were everywhere & people weren't even ashamed of them! This had to be the most frightening presidential ticket in history yet people here were proud & honored to campaign & vote for the GOP ticket.... by a very large majority. So what's the point... I'm surrounded by a bunch of illogical, insane people. They moved the old "Bush House" to the UTPB campus right behind the local art museum so I have to go by that damn thing whenever I go out for a campus bike ride. It's enough to screw up a perfectly nice evening of biking. A little while back some patriotic juvenile delinquents tried to torch the Bush House (unsuccessfully I'm afraid). This cause a big uproar around here. But I was thinking more down the lines of.... damn kids, how hard can it be to burn a little 60+yr old house to the ground anyway? There's a nice big fence around the Bush House now to keep the angry patriots & their lighters a safe distance away. It's just amazing.... & very disheartening. But one thing's changed.... no more dropping the G's & exaggerating my southern origin.! Little Ms.Palin has made dropping the G's about the most uncool thing ever.

Obama's first briefing begins in a few hours. According to CNN he will learn the deepest secrets of the country.
Who knows what they do in there.
Bill Hicks had an idea: "It's just a handful of people that run everything, and that's provable.... I have this feeling that whoever's elected president, like Clinton was, no matter what promises you make on the campaign trail - blah, blah, blah - when you win, you go into this smoky room with the twelve industrialist, capitalist scumfucks that got you in there, and this little screen comes down... and it's a shot of the Kennedy assassination from an angle you've never seen before, which looks suspiciously off the grassy knoll.... And then the screen comes up, the lights come on, and they say to the new president, 'Any questions?'

McCain sucks, he's nuts, he's old, and old news... (& Panama-born and not eligible for the Presidency anyway). It's been clear since January that Obama was the new fuhrer. His faction finished seizing control in June. This was a formality. dumpmccain.com/
