Rather than clutter up the other thread, I thought I would start a new one pertaining to Paul's song/video "1882." That seems like it should be pointing at something, but I don't know what. As with my Lily thread, I just wanted to start a thread to throw out ideas and see if we can find the connection.
So, to start with I am just searching for general history in England for 1882 to see if we can find a starting point.
July 11 British fleet bombs Alexandria
July 28 Opera "Parsifal" is produced (Beirut)
August 16 British under General Wolseley land in Alexandria
September 13 Battle at Count el-Kebir: British troops invade Egypt
September 14 British General Wolseley reaches Cairo
December 6 Atmosphere of Venus detected during transit
Ok, that doesn't really feel like anything, except that the Brits are conquering Egypt here, and with all the Egyptian symbolism and religious connections, maybe this was significant?
One symbol that I see all the time in British upper-crust is the Knight killing the dragon, the Snake Killers. Maybe there is a connection with them having overthrown another sect? A coup of some sort?
September 15 British general Wolseley occupies Cairo

So far the only inkling that I have is the image from the video showing them taking the rectangular glowing white thing out of the satchel, so I am searching for 1882 and Benben stone. I found this, but I may be way off. If someone has a clue for me to research from the video, please drop me hint. www.archive.org/stream/cambridgeancient015571mbp/cambridgeancient015571mbp_djvu.txtNow, we know that a new Sothic cycle began in A.D. 139 (or 143). Theon, the mathematician of Alexandria, calls the preceding cycle, which must have begun in 1321 B.C. (or 1317), 'the epoch of Menophres.' The 'throne-name* of Ramses I, who succeeded Harmhab about 1321 B.C., was Menpehre. His date is known because his predecessor dated the years of his reign from the death of Amenhotep III, the father of Ikhnaton (whose reign is ignored on account of his religious heresy), and * reigned' at least 59 years, 13801321 B.C. Thus 1321 B.C. was the first year of a Sothic cycle, and the evidence fits in well. The two preceding cycles will have begun in 2778 or 2781 B.C. and 4238 or 4241 B.C., and in one of these years the cycle was instituted (p, 248). If we find that the heliacal rising of Sirius is noted in an Egyptian document as falling in a certain month of a certain year in the reign of a certain king, it would seem that by calculating the loss of days implied we could discover the year B.C. to which the given year corresponds. On this principle, by means of a statement in a papyrus found at Kahun, that Sothis rose heliacally on the first of the month Pharmouthi in the seventh year of Senusret III, it ha^ been computed that this year was 1882 (1876) or 1876 (1872) B.C., while from the same data another computer has arrived at 1945 B.C. But there are many considerations which militate against an unreserved acceptance of either of these dates, in the present state of our knowledge. If the former date were accepted, the end of the Xllth Dynasty would fall in 1788 B.C. But it will be ad- mitted by all who have studied the material for the history of the the Bronze Age and the establishment,, apparently, of big centres of political power (for instance, at Cnossus and Mycenae) dominant over wide spheres of influence, produced a far greater unity in the culture of the different areas, and so give a surer basis for any attempt at chronology especially when, as we have seen, the contacts with Egypt at this time are so strong and numerous.

Venus Transit: The Da Vinci Code Myth Making for the Second Coming presented by Kenneth Warren www.lkwdpl.org/guides/davincicode/"June 8 of this year marks the once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event called the “Transit of Venus”. Interestingly, 8, June marks the death of Mohammed and the founding of Islam. The Transit of Venus is an astronomical event much like a solar eclipse, except the planet Venus crosses between the Sun and Earth. In addition to this year, the Transit will re-occur again on June 6th, 2012. The year 2012 stands out in South American lore as the culmination of the Mayan calendar, and Venus is associated with Quetzal Coatl, the Mayan Christ figure who roamed the earth in AD 40. Transits of Venus are associated with huge leaps forward in human knowledge. For example, the last Transit of Venus occurred back in 1882, right around the discovery of electricity. This transit also coincided with the eruption of the Krakatau volcano shortly afterwards, and the shockwave was mistaken for an earthquake for miles. As a result, particle dust blocked out enough harmful solar radiation to cool the planet by 1.2 degrees in 1883." reader "A" from "Transit of Venus, Terror and the Caldera" Considering we have seen so many weird timing events with the Venus Transits, this seems significant to me. It would make sense with the 2012 comment from Paul about us not having much time left. Any comments are appreciated, as I'm fumbling in the dark on this one. Thanks

The Venus Transit of 1882 does seem to have made an impression on the public at the time: sunearth.gsfc.nasa.gov/sunearthday/2004/vt_edu2004_venus_back_his.htmThis lack of news-worthiness all but vanished for the next transit. There was enormous public interest in the next transit on December 6, 1882. It made the front pages of every national and international newspaper, with lavish full-length articles covering several pages. Was the public now intrigued by this event? It would seem so! Newspaper accounts give us lots of details. "Many of the residents of San Francisco were noticed yesterday with a piece of smoked glass to their eye, looking curiously at the sun, between the hours of about sunrise and noon, during which time Venus was visible; and even under these disadvantages without the aid of a suitable telescope, it was still a grand and beautiful spectacle. All who missed a view of the transit of Venus are to be commiserated, for should they live to be 100 years old the chance will not come again occur." (San Francisco Chronicle)

I'm probably barking up the wrong tree here, but this is the only thing that keeps coming up for 1882.
Towards the end of the 19th Century, and exactly on August 12th 1882, British troops landed at Alexandria marking the beginning of British occupation which lasted for 74 years. The beginning of the 20th century witnessed the awakening of the national conscience aiming at ending the British occupation. Mustafa Kamel, Sa'ad Zaghloul, Mustafa El Nahas and many others were prominent figures who strove to achieve two national objectives; independence and constitutional reform.
I'm wondering if maybe Britain could have obtained some kind of ancient knowledge when they annexed Alexandria?

I am watching the video again. Is this the origination of the OTO, Crowley and Egyptian connections directly in his work?
By the way, I got a file of photos that were included in a download, and it has bunches of photos of Crowley, if anyone is interested for research purposes.
I saw one picture of him with a little blonde girl that seemed intriguing, but there is no information included with them. It is very old and fuzzy, so it would be difficult to identify who she is by it.

The video has a lot of disturbing images in it when you slow it down.
Is there already a thread discussing the video, or any quotes from him about what he admits to trying to convey?

No link - I have them on my computer. I will put the one up of the little girl, but there are bunches of them. I didn't know if maybe there were images from videos that people were trying to identify, or whatever. I also have a copy of "KONX OM PAX - Essays In Light" which was flashed in the video, if anyone wants to read the pdf. Oh No!! Is it Barbara Bush?

Here is the first stanza of a poem in KONX OM PAX that sounds interesting:
St. Paul spoke up on the Hill of Mars To the empty-headed Athenians; But I would rather talk to the stars Than to empty-headed Athenians; It’s only too easy to form a cult, To cry a crusade with “Deus Vult”— But you won’t get much of a good result From empty-headed Athenians.

Ah, thanks Mr. B. I didn't think to search for it online.
I download bunches of magickal texts at a time, and it is kind of a grab-bag of what they happen to throw in them for fun.
Some are easily available, some are hard-to-find. I am just now skimming through this one, and there is a kind of creepy Alice in Wonderland type fairy tale, which is completely over my head like usual.
*Added* A very sick and gory Alice story, not for the easily-disturbed. The more I read the worse it gets.

An excerpt:
The Romans said it had sixty-five parts, which is five times thirteen, and seventy-eight is six times thirteen. To get into the Wake World you must know your thirteen times table quite well. So if you take them both together that makes eleven times thirteen, and then you say Abrahadabra,” which is a most mysterious word, because it has eleven letters in it. You remember the Houses are numbered both ways, so that the Third House is called the Eighth House too, and the Fifth the Sixth, and so on. But you can’t tell what lovely things that means till you’ve been through them all, and got to the very end. So when you look at the ring and see I.N.R.I. and T.A.R.O. on it that means that it is like a policeman keeping on saying “Pass along, please!” I would have liked to stay in the Fourth House all my life, but I began to see it was just a little dream House too; and I couldn’t rest, because my own House was the very next one. But it’s too awful to tell you how to get there. You want the most fearful lot of courage, and there’s nobody to help you, nobody at all, and there’s no proper passage. But it’s frightfully exciting, and you must wait till next time before I tell you how I started on that horrible journey and if I ever got there or not.
Would anyone like to explain that to me? I assume this is all references to the Tree of Life, but that is about as far as I get.

There are some who maintain that there are, in fact, 13 astrological houses, not 12 as we peasants are told. The 'real initiates' get to know that there are 13. (Not my opinion, btw.) When you see the INRI or TARO, it's time to "move along" to the next house, meaning, when you've acheived the full spiritual growth of having been born in a given sign, it's time to move on to the next house. Hypothetically, if one is born in a given sign during the first week of it, you are in your first incarnation in that sign. The second week, the second incarnation in that sign. Third week, the third incarnation, and the fourth is when you, hopefully, see the INRI or TARO. Then you move on to the next house and start the process over. You don't know what the final destination of the journey houses is, or what it meant, 'til you've completed the journey through all the houses, when, presumably, you have grown as a spirit, learning in the school of the flesh, the lessons of lives. Ready to be born into 'the Wake World', as that paragraph puts it.
I am not impressed with the writing you gave us as an example. This person thinks they are a regular Lewis Carroll, but methinks perhaps not!

Ok, I found a name under that photo in a different area. I looked it up, and apparently the "Egg Man" above is none other than Crowley, posing as an Egyptian Prince. One of his many alter-egos I guess.
All roads lead back to Faul.

If you go to this link and scroll down to page 3, you can see a picture in a newspaper article with the same guy as "Egg Man" above, explaining that it is Crowley. I wouldn't have recognized him, although I'm only familiar with those few photos that you always see of him older and bald. www.lashtal.com/pdf/picture_post_nov19_1955.pdfThen if you scroll down to page 4, you will see "Edith Y" mother of God with a brand on her chest. Is this possibly the frequent "Y" reference? Apparently her real name is Leila Waddell. Mean anything to anyone?

This Waddell woman is pinging for me, so I am following the trail. I may be wasting my time, but I'll post what I find anyway, in hopes it eventually connects to something else:
Crowley's mistress at the time was a violinist named Leila Waddell. She, Victor Neuberg, and a group of other dramatically skilled people, created a ritual centered around Leila's violin-playing, Neuberg's dancing, and other talents. The ritual aimed to invoke Bartzabel, the spirit of Mars. The group decided that enough talent existed for the thing to go public. The public performances were initially in Crowley's flat at 123 Victoria Street. Later the group rented Caxton Hall. A young woman named Ione de Forest had been hired as a dancer. She was only in her teens, and this was her first experience with the occult. A scandal sheet, the "Looking Glass," ran a sensational article on "The Rites of Eleusius." There was suggestion that sexual irregularities had occurred in the semi-darkness.

Another 1882 event was a large UFO sighting:
1882 England: A huge UFO, the first such phenomenon which was characteristically saucer-shaped in Europe, was plainly observed by numerous people in England and other parts of Europe during the night. It was seen to travel in the sky at an approximate altitude of 130 miles in an east-west direction. A number of eminent scientists witnessed the object, among them being Dr E Walter Maunder, Greenwich astronomer; English spectroscopist, J Rand Capron; Dutch astronomers Audemans and Zeeman. The Royal Observatory, Greenwich published a report of the conclusions reached by scientists, following the appearance of what had been termed, "The Great Saucer". The report had this to say: "It appeared to be well defined in body and the inference drawn was that it was a meteor, not in the old vague sense of some object high in the Earth's atmosphere, but in the sense of a solid cosmological substance, disc-like in appearance, the orbit of which brought it within the terrestrial atmosphere. But nothing could be more unlike the rush of a great meteor or fireball, with intense radiance and fiery train. The advance of this object, though swift, appeared to be orderly and controlled. There was no sign of the compression of the atmosphere before it, no hint that the matter composing its front part, was in anyway more strongly heated than the rest of its substance, if substance, indeed it possessed."

I know there is some linking of Blavatsky through Crowley et.al. but I don't know if this date would make that big of a difference to anyone, but it came up: Blavatsky influenced Aleister Crowley, born Edward Alexander Crowley (12 October 1875 – 1 December 1947) was an occultist, prolific writer, mystic, hedonist, and sexual revolutionary. Other interests and accomplishments were wide-ranging—he was a chess master, mountain climber, poet, painter, astrologer, drug experimenter, and social critic. He is perhaps best known today for his occult writings, especially The Book of the Law, the central sacred text of Thelema. Crowley was also an influential member in several occult organizations, including the Golden Dawn, the A.'.A.'., and Ordo Templi Orientis. He gained much notoriety during his lifetime, and was famously dubbed "The Wickedest Man In the World." To India... By 1882 the Theosophical Society became an international organization, and it was at this time that she moved the headquarters to Adyar near Madras, India." goldismoney.info/forums/archive/index.php/t-42297.html
