This song was posted at Taf's blog and he commented that "I am not sure where exactly this next item fits, but I am told it does. At any rate it is quite good."He's right. It is quite good. There's not much information about it at the Youtube page. This is all it says: "Recorded at Cuzio Studios, Bklyn, NY (1993) Todd Eastland: percussion John: the rest"I think it sounds VERY McCartneyesque. In the same way that Glenn Tilbrook (of Squeeze) often does. The Dandelion Chain: Here's Glenn Tilbrook singing "hourglass". Incidentally, I thought this was a McCartney song when I first heard it in 1987. Should this be in the "Send In The Clones" thread? EDIT:I just noticed a MMT/Zodiac-ish symbol on the backdrop in the Squeeze vid:

Someone at taf's suggested that the singer of The Dandelion Chain may be an offspring of JPM. My comment was that the song style was VERY Simon and Garfunkel. Now as for Squeeze, and "Hour Glass", yeah! I did a thread on that some years back. (Must have been at TKIN; I can't find it here.) There are so many smoking guns in the video for that song, the fireman should be RUSHed in! Squeeze - Hourglass (1987)www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4U8RCN1kfUDead men popping up and playing instruments, A pair of boots at 0:20, A Magritte-based set design, and the lead singer sounding like McCartney. (Could they make it any more obvious?) btw, the rotary phone at 01:08 is how telephones used to look in the 1950 and 1960s. And notice: another pair of empty boots near to the phone, and bare-foot guitar player.

Right on, B. The reason I posted that live, acoustic version of "Hourglass" is because I think that it showcases the McCartneyesque melody and vocal better than the "official" version, but this still is from the opening of the video you mentioned
