Something that hasn't really been touched on too much is the legalities in all of this.
Whether you think Paul died and a replacement was brought in
or you're PIA but PWR, there's probably a fair amount of paperwork involved.
I suppose it could be done with a handshake, but in this litigious society I doubt it.
The thought of JPM being on the Chinese junk perhaps for legal reasons reminded me of stuff rolling around in my head.
Many have wondered why no one has spoken of a PWR situation
out in the open.
ACV mentioned that once the plan was put into operation - it was agreed nothing would be said of it. Deny, deny...
That may have been the 'gentleman's' agreement.
But, the legal dimension could play a bigger part.
The Beatles were a legal entity.
What kind of arrangement is written out if someone else comes in
and actually assumes the role of a part of that entity?
In a band say like, oh, I don't know, - the ramones,
different guys came in. So one's out and he makes his $ on what
he did. Now a new one comes in and it's like he's grafted on
to the body made up of Joey, Deedee, etc.
But with the lads, there's another element to it all.
All the principals and also those on the periphery would be involved.
But in this case, one is assuming a role as the original.
Tricky stuff.
What happens to the money?
How are things divided up?
Who can claim what as far as authorship and revenue?
If someone worked in a gov't facility, they might not talk about something sensitive because they feel it's not the right thing to do.
But, many times they are required to sign a non-disclosure.
This could even be more of an incentive.
(jail, loss of job...)
People can and have kept quiet about things for a long time.
Somewhat different situation here.
But, it's reasonable to think that all those involved in PWR that were there, could and would keep quiet for a long long time.
