So, Paul just told the story about when he had to play Yesterday all by himself on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964. In case any one missed the significance of this, "Yesterday" wasn't released until 1965.

In case any one missed the significance of this, "Yesterday" wasn't released until 1965. Right. He *could* have been referring to the August 14, 1965 appearance when he DID play Yesterday, but they were talking about the FIRST Ed Sullivan performance. We might be quibbling a bit here, but he was wrong in the context of the conversation...

That was what immediately sprang to my mind as the most logical explanation, but we'll never know with something like that.

what's up with Bruce Willis getting flowers? To save on bandwidth, I cut out the usual Letterman first half filler, but it was just about a reward for reading the top ten list. However, it did remind me of the scene in Yellow Sub, and also many an occasion where Sir Paul gets a bouquet thrown at him.. Now, if I were to pretend that he reads this forum, (indulge me) I would say he put on a pink shirt as a way of almost daring Mommybird to say he looked uh.. "feminine". Also that bit about that "he's a boy", and "likes girls". (maybe he read the thread about the English spy woman) Cmon now, shouldn't blame the DJ's and Abbey Road for the PID rumors.. According to Bill Harry's Paul McCartney encyclopedia, the rumors started in England in late 1966.. I wonder why? I think it would have been a more fair statement to say the time around Abbey Road was when people noticed something, and didn't just focus on AR.. The focus went back to Pepper as we know, and then overshot the mark a bit, well.. perhaps more than a bit. I think the "boy and likes girls" comment was aimed at boomer women--the fans who swooned over baby-faced Paul. And Faul did get off subject when he talked about singing Yesterday, but, remember, he has alot of history he has to substitute for his own.

"Even the cover gets applause" He says "sandals/flip-flops" it could be a reference to 1966 using numbers as letters of the alphabet. a=1 b=2 etc

I listened to Sir Faul's interview again and he said an interesting thing about working with Michael Jackson. He said, "And he (Michael Jackson) had a great guy who used to come with him. A guy called Billy." Did Jackson have a roadie or someone who used to accompany him, or could Faul have been talking about himself?
