So, Paul just told the story about when he had to play Yesterday all by himself on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964.

Paul died a good 13 years before Letterman's first morning show on NBC...

When Dave asked him about the death "hoax", and mentioned that there was supposedly a look-a-like replacement, Paul said "yeah, I'm him."

"Yeah, this is him" (pointing at himself) The only thing he mentioned was the barefoot on Abbey Road = Funeral as the trigger for the rumor. I bet the video will be posted, maybe CBS or YT.

Great, he finally confessed. David Letterman proves himself the world's leading journalist.

Letterman is on after this old man's bedtime... Good one tho.... I'd equate this to when he thanked John Paul George & Ringo for letting him accept that special award for the Beatles at the grammy's a few years back..... or whatever that was. Sir Paul loves just coming right out with it. He knows that the people who refuse to believe what's right in front of them are going to think he's joking, regardless.... so why not?

What's interesting is that the vids containing the 'this is him' (or whatever) admittance were removed. However the vid of him playing is somehow still up (as of now). That one is safe for mass consumption, whereas the other one.....

This one should have the quip, at the beginning of the clip, but for some reason, it's garbled out... You can hear Letterman saying 'Or is it?' replying to the 'Yeah, this is him' line. There is crowd noise that blots out the 'Yeah this is him' part.

I saw the whole interview and his two songs. There were a couple of things in the interview that were interesting: 1.) He called Paul's father's band The Masked Players. Has anyone heard of that? According to my understanding, Paul's father's band was called the Jim Mac Band or the Jim Mac Jazz Band. 2.) Sir Faul said that he smoked Peter Stuyvesant cigarettes. I know John smoked an American brand and I've never heard of that other brand. 3.) You could photoshop a picture of David Letterman in the MMT magician scene (you know, the one with the brown-nosed Faul?) Letterman let's say wasted no time in getting to the PID topic and Sir Faul didn't miss a beat, so this was all discussed ahead of time, of course. Letterman said, " [the talk was] that there was another guy, a double who was taking his place" and Sir Faul said, "This is him." And Letterman looked at the camera and said, "Or maybe not." My idea on Faul being cagey and letting others cover for him is that, if he is trying to deceive people and the truth comes out, (and it will), he would be liable for it. But as for facing the world public and admitting he is not Paul McCartney, I think this is something he will never do.

For a 74-year-old man. I listened to a tape of Little Richard at a club in the 1990's where he said, "I am the only thing left. And I know you can dig it." Maybe Sir Faul is competing with Little Richard to see who can rock on with his bad self the longest. (I do like Little Richard alot.) And a correction on my post; I looked at the video on the Rotten Apple series and Letterman answered the "This is him" from Sir Faul with, "Or is it?"

what's up with Bruce Willis getting flowers? To save on bandwidth, I cut out the usual Letterman first half filler, but it was just about a reward for reading the top ten list. However, it did remind me of the scene in Yellow Sub, and also many an occasion where Sir Paul gets a bouquet thrown at him.. Now, if I were to pretend that he reads this forum, (indulge me) I would say he put on a pink shirt as a way of almost daring Mommybird to say he looked uh.. "feminine". Also that bit about that "he's a boy", and "likes girls". (maybe he read the thread about the English spy woman) Cmon now, shouldn't blame the DJ's and Abbey Road for the PID rumors.. According to Bill Harry's Paul McCartney encyclopedia, the rumors started in England in late 1966.. I wonder why? I think it would have been a more fair statement to say the time around Abbey Road was when people noticed something, and didn't just focus on AR.. The focus went back to Pepper as we know, and then overshot the mark a bit, well.. perhaps more than a bit.

"You know Dave, I've been wanting to get something off my chest, I'm really a 96 year old woman." ;D No one can ever say that he never admitted to the masses that he was a double, though, what with the 'this is him' statement. If he ever wanted to come out and say it, he just did.

If you watch Faul's body language, he is using gestures which indicate he is lying and being defensive, as well as showing deep thought, concern, he is uncomfortable, nervousness and anxiousness. He is doing things like touching his face (nose). looking away, shifting body position, crossing his hands, tightening neck muscles, fake smile, pressed lips, clenching fist, nervous laughter, etc.
