Perhaps he wasn't replaced at all...but sometimes uses lookalikes for photos and personal appearances. That would explain the wild physical variences in some pictures and some others. (Some might hope it was one in "Give my regards to Broad Street".
On the cover of "Paul Is Still With Us" (Life) I was struck by how much he resembled the real deal. So perhaps the real guy lived in Scotland and had a double conduct his business. For some unknown reason.
Comments?

Surely there are a dozen lookalikes on call at any given time.

Surely there are a dozen lookalikes on call at any given time. And this is based on...?

An assumption.

NY Times commented 'Paul's voice never sounded better' in Madison Square Garden, 1976. You're aware Denny was in that concert?

The weirdest Paul and hence the most likely candidate for a replacement of one sort or another was the guy on that 1967 TV interview ("things are getting a bit too controlled...")

Paul employed doubles during the last year or so of his life before he was assassinated: 1965-66.

Paul had two, possibly three, doubles around 1964-1966. As best I can figure out, four doubles were sent in to replace him after he retired in 1966. And Neil Aspinall sometimes filled in as "Paul".
To TotalInformation: I thought maybe Paul had been murdered or ritually killed too, but I'm not reading or seeing any evidence that convinces me. Could you tell me what you've seen or read that points to his being assassinated in '65 or '66?
