exile on main street (rolling stones book about writing the album) there is mention of corsicans delivering pink heroin to the band and associated people. there is also the illusive tom forcade, if that was his real name. a zippie.
the drug aspect of the beatles is really the all important issue -- the result of all those drugs on themselves and their audience. could it be that they were just useful idiots.
i got interested in all this because one day i was looking at the portrait of john on a book cover and i thought, "i wonder if he was a spy." i had no reason to suspect that he was, but it came to me in a flash.
aleister crowley - heroin
william burroughs - morphine
john lennon - heroin
keith richards - heroin
janis joplin - heroin
roky erickson - heroin
jimmy page - heroin
david bowie - heroin
jerry garcia - heroin
what else might they have in common? why is it so many people in rock and roll turn to heroin? even in the 40s people knew heroin was deadly, so you cant claim ignorance...
this is my hypothesis: could it be a control mechanism?
think about this, aleister crowley, the great beast, who supposedly had absolute willpower, and was totally self disciplined (right...) was a heroin addict. if you were to think of the heroin addiction as a spiritual force then perhaps you will se what i am talking about.
it goes beyond heroin though, it relates to william burrough's description of the people selling the heroin. these are the types of people that william burroughs writes about, and it's closer to snuff than it is to peace and love.
