This is 1991 short film by director John Boorman, about aspects of his life and work. In the second segment, we are introduced to Garech Browne. A few things about it that I found interesting, he is an avid collecter. I know Tara Browne for a fact loved collecting albums, remember in the one part of a video about him, he's with visiting with Spencer Davis and playing records. (I feel I should point out too, Faul has quite an extensive collection too.) Also it's mentioned Garech had a collection of "death masks" (which I found very odd). It reminded me of John Lennon's video where he has all those wooden masks. Then the close-up of Garech in his house, reminds me of the close-up of Faul in Strawberry Fields. Also, the graves of the family by the greco-roman temple near the lake. One of which is said to belong to the "brother who died at 21" (Tara Browne). Anyway, the introduction for Boorman's short on youtube states: The film shifts back and forth from the world of dreams (in which Boorman's alter-ego is played by John Hurt) to reality, in an exploration of the relationship between the 'secular present' and the 'magical past' (Boorman's own words), between landscape and the imagination, and between life and art. Boorman's home and its surroundings in Wicklow are an important part of the film (almost a character), and were the location for much of the filming of Excalibur. (I may have to watch that film again.) ____________________________________________________ I Dreamt I Woke Up, pt. 1I Dreamt I Woke Up, pt. 2I Dreamt I Woke Up, pt. 3I Dreamt I Woke Up, pt. 4I Dreamt I Woke Up, pt. 5
