No really, I mean this is just totally insane.
It makes conventional PID seem staid and solid card-carrying establishment, by comparison.
It almost makes 911 conspiracy theories seem common-sensical by comparison.
Reclaim WHAT? If this song or some sort of variant of it had been written before 1948 -- or even before 1968 -- this theory would make just a little more sense than it does now. Just a little. Just a little.
But in 1948, the state of Israel was officially established, and, of course, in 1967, the Israelis absolutely crushed the Arab armies in the Six-Day War.
This song was apparently written and released in 1968, a year afterward. What need could possibly have been perceived to bolster Jewish/Israeli morale at that time?[/quote]
1. Reclaim the holy land, Israel, from the Zionists. Or were you of the impression that Zionists were actually practicing Jews? Lol, silly you! I think we all know that claiming to be something is not the same as actually being it.
Jews don't live in Israel? Who does live in Israel then?
2. Need? Since when does there have to be an inherent "need" to speak on world issues? People still talk feveredly about many old issues' I'm sure they won't stop talking just because the issues are ancient. The topic of the Holy Land will continue to be a topic of interest as it has for years to come, until the Jews "go out and get her" (back) once and for all.
Your argument is that the Beatles conceived of "Hey Jude" for the purpose of rescuing Israel from the Zionists on behalf of the Jews? Is that your argument?
Are you sure that you don't also think that Hillary Clinton ran for President in order to pad her resume for a beauty contest?
That's just my opinion, though. We all have them. I respect yours, is it wrong of me to expect the same courtesy from others?
Normally, the answer would be "No".
But the operative answer here is "Yes, if you're insulting the intelligence of your readers."
