Percy Thrillington Esq. wishes to express his sincere thanks to the Princess Ridiculess for a most enjoyable weekend in St. Montz.
Princess Ridicluess! St. Montz? where's that? Is Thrillington, ESQ still skiing? lol St Maurice is traditionally depicted in full armor, in Italy emblasoned with a red cross. In folk culture he has become connected with the legend of the Spear of Destiny, which he is supposed to have carried into battle; his name is engraved on the Holy Lance of Vienna, one of several relics claimed as the spear that pierced Jesus' side on the cross. Saint Maurice gives his name to the town St. Moritz as well as to numerous places called Saint-Maurice in French speaking countries. ;D twitter.com/#!/PaulMcCartney/status/204296566117380096/photo/1 I did indeed, though this rose was flourishing at surface level. Sadly no sign of Percy Thrillington though. The Lily of the Valley seems to have vanished underground. Naw, it's full grown. Not vanished. Christian legend
LILY
The flower is also known as Our Lady's tears or Mary's tears from Christian legends that it sprang from the weeping of the Virgin Mary during the crucifixion of Jesus. Other etiologies its coming into being from Eve's tears after she was driven with Adam from the Garden of Eden or from the blood shed by Saint Leonard of Noblac during his battles with a dragon.
The name "lily of the valley" is used in some English translations of the Bible in Song of Songs 2:1, but the Hebrew phrase "shoshannat-ha-amaqim" in the original text (literally "lily of the valleys") doesn't refer to this plant. It's possible, though, that the biblical phrase may have had something to do with the origin or development of the modern plant-name. It is a symbol of humility in religious painting. Lily of the valley is considered the sign of Christ's second coming. The power of men to envision a better world was also attributed to the lily of the valley.
In Germanic mythology lilies are associated with the virgin goddess of spring Ostara. The lily symbolizes life to Pagans and the blooming of lily of the valley flower heralds the feast of Ostara. The sweet fragrance and whiteness of the flowers symbolize the humility and purity of its patron goddess
Other names include May lily, May bells, lily constancy, ladder-to-heaven, male lily, and muguet (French). In Bulgarian and Macedonian it's called момина сълза /momina.səlza/ and момина солза respectively, meaning "lass's tear". Its scientific name, majalis or maialis, means "of or belonging to May", and old astrological books place the plant under the dominion of Mercury, since Maia, the daughter of Atlas, was the mother of Mercury or Hermes.
In the "language of flowers", the lily of the valley signifies the return of happiness. Legend tells of the affection of a lily of the valley for a nightingale that did not come back to the woods until the flower bloomed in May The subway of in decision, surface level. #IAM

Paul explains the evolution of the Percy Thrillington character: We took personal ads in Private Eye and the Evening Standard saying, "Percy Thrillington seeks the love of his life." People eventually began to ask, "Who is this Percy Thrillington who keeps taking out small ads?" And then on holiday in Ireland with Linda we decided to find an actual Percy. We found a lad working in a farmer's field. We went up to him and asked, "Would you mind doing a photo shoot?" And so for a modelling fee we persuaded him to put on a dinner jacket and Linda took some pictures. And this Irish farmhand became Percy Thrillington. iamaphoney.blogspot.co.uk/2008/12/percy-thrillington-magritte-me.html

It has come to the attention of Percy Thrillington that the general physical condition of the majority of London’s residents is quite deplorable. Percy Thrillington intends setting a personal example by taking a morning jog through Hyde Park. All other interested parties are asked to gather at the Bayswater Fountains.
