The front cover of Dark Horse first. This may already be a thread, it may not. But posting it anyway, because I'm sure someone will guide me back to any threads involving this cover. Right from Penny Lane, we get George Harrison and the Dark Horse. He's the only one riding one in the promo film for the song. All the others horses are white. This either stuck with Harrison for later on, or it's just coincidental. Anyways -- the cover of Dark Horse. Attachments:

In the top row is a young George Harrison, face coloured blue to signify allusions to Krishna, who was blue. Above him levitates Sri Mahavatar Babaji. The next distinctive character trait given is the teacher below him. He is given the Capitol Records logo on his shirt. It's the red target version, which was used during 1971. By 1972 they had changed to the orange labels, and never went back to the red target style. The next row of distinctive shirt designs are the next row of teachers: 1) Willie Weeks Y'all (Bass player on a few George Harrison albums, and a great bass player at that.) 2) A symbol that looks like a falcon? A black eagle?3) The £ symbol4) Uchchaihshravas - Uchchaihshravas is often described as a vahana ("vehicle") of Indra - the god-king of heaven, but is also recorded to be the horse of Bali, the king of demons. Uchchaihshravas is said to be snow white in colour. This one is black. The dark horse. 5) ॐ Aum ~ the sound. 6) Uchchaihshravas - the dark one 7) Apple8) A shirt with some of its letters obscured. It reads A 'M' and maybe a C, or an O - within a heart shape. 9) L.A. Express - The L.A. Express formed in 1973 as the backing band for jazz saxophonist Tom Scott. Scott being a performing musician on many Harrison albums. The original lineup included Max Bennett - bass, John Guerin - drums and percussion, Larry Carlton - guitarist, and Joe Sample - keyboards (the latter two were also members of the group The Crusaders). They recorded the album Tom Scott and the L.A. Express, as well as a number of tracks on Joni Mitchell's Court and Spark album in 1974 with this lineup, before both Carlton and Sample left the group. Robben Ford replaced Carlton as guitarist and Larry Nash took over as the group's keyboardist. Ford also plays on Dark Horse. 10) Bag Productions - This is referring to Bag Productions Ltd, Lennon's public relations company, which derived its name from Bagism. Also from Come Together -- he bag production.

I know I've seen a handful of lengthy threads on this album cover on many Beatles forums. However, I've Never seen anyone else ever mention George being the only one on a black horse in the Penny Lane video. I've always wondered why George. If it had been Paul on the black horse PIDers would never shut up about it But since it's George, I guess it's not a non-issue.....
