From what I've read, Julian Lennon was treated far more kindly as a boy and later for a while by Paul McCartney. Much as I love John Lennon, he could be a cruel person as he admitted himself. He seems to have had little sensitivity towards Julian after a point and it was Paul who stepped in and gave Julian some of the attention he needed.
However, Julian Lennon was snubbed by both the later Paul and George Harrison (in George's case it was to do with a documentary or tv event I think). He and Paul apparently were relatively close after he had his first success as a singer but later we hear of Julian's anger at Paul snubbing him over his wedding - not sure if it was to Heather or his latest wife, as well as Julian being upset at his snubbing for various projects to do with the Beatles.
Is this another indication that the man called Paul McCartney is a different person?

Well I would say, yes it is, as there no connection with Julian at all or his mother, Cynthia... that was to do with the Liverpool days. I think the wedding snub you refer to was the wedding to his third wife, Nancy. Another person who was not invited was Twiggy and I believe Cilla Black also.
