arrison`s son?
I enjoy the Rotten Apple series although I think the individual videos are too short and should be combined. They also flash some interesting pictures too quickly to see them properly and don`t give enough sources for the material. I`d like to know where a lot of the pictures and videos come from and what their date is etc.
1 thing is very clear ~ Phoney is an insider. He has access to material that only insiders could have and could use. There is no way Paul and Ringo could not have shut his youtube vids down by now as well as music companies because of violation of copyright. It`s not really like the Paul McCartney we know now to let somebody blatantly infringe copyright. So who is he?
I am guessing he is George Martin`s son. I always thought George Martin was far more responsible for the Beatles songwriting than has ever been admitted. The Beatles did not need Theo Adorno (just not true) to write their materail ~ George Martin was on hand and made key songs what they are, refining the raw talents of John and Paul.
So ~ who is IamaPhoney and is he on these forums?

It is becoming more and more obvious that Lennon/McCartney (which one) wrote all those songs including hits for others in the 'sixties. They just would not have had the time; I don't know anything about George Martin's son (so far) but there would have been several people on contract to write songs but did not keep the copyright to them. That's why they were published by Northern Songs.

Yes, good points.
My theory is that IamaPhoney is George Martin's son. Regardless of what happened to the original Paul or if something happened or did not, if Phoney is George Martin's son he could be cheesed off with the fact that Paul and John are portrayed as young musical geniuses whereas his father is given credit as the producer and not that much more although a certain amount of Martin's huge contribution has been noted.
I never thought when I looked at the Beatles from the perspective of an adult that they had come up with the ideas like the trumpet solo on Penny Lane nor the innovative sounds of Strawberry Fields especially the guitar as siren sound and other creative sounds. George Martin came up with those key changes and he came up with some of the tunes that Lennon/McCartney were credited with. The structural influence of the classically trained George Martin has never been given genuine credit.
Another instance is I Am The Walrus. The classically trained influence of George Martin is clear, especially with the tempo changes when the song sounds as if it is winding down and we hear the string instruments just before John comes in with the droll 'Sitting in an English garden' part of the song. The urgent pace change at the end with the acceleration and intensity is also George Martin although as a writer some time ago said, I Am The Walrus is essentially Lennonesque - magic and desperation.
I bet Martin also suggested the part from King Lear. I am not suggesting John and Paul did not know Shakespeare - they were highly literate young men from what we know because of their reading, but it seems just like George Martin to recommend those lines. And of course Sergeant Pepper's innovations including the concept of an audience that we hear etc has George Martin written all over it although of course John, Paul and George had developed musically.
IamaPhoney seems a kind of double edged sword - possibly he is not telling us any genuine truth about Paul Mac but simply feeding the interest in PID and getting back at Paul or if it is Faul at the same time for being a stealer of credit that should go to George Martin.
As for the more than a little help from their friends that Paul and John received yet took the credit for, maybe that is the mystery of how Michael Jackson got his hands on the Beatles' catalogue solved. Maybe those rights were not owned by Lennon/McCartney and that is how they could be sold so easily.

I think that is a very good overview of George Martin's input. As mentioned on another thread re the soundtrack for "The Family Way" and other similar stuff; it is likely that it was composed by George Martin and Paul/Faul's name put to it as it might sell better and also a way for Paul to evolve into a more rounded musician than the "left handed bass player" which has led up to the present day, "McCartney" being looked up to as an "all rounder". It has gone out of all proportion. The Lennon/McCartney songbook was published by Dick James music as Northern Songs; this came up for auction after the death of Dick James and was famously bid for by Michael Jackson (there was a mix up in the bidding between Paul and Yoko Ono supposedly) and hence, Paul and Michael fell out. However, if as we suspect that JPM was no longer with us anyway, neither was JWL; then no one had a claim of ownership who was one of the living composers. Many of these songs would have been written by freelance people who did not collect royalties on the songs.
