I'd like to hear your opinions about the song "How Do You Sleep". Particularly the line: "The one mistake you made was in your head" What was the mistake, in your opinion? Also any comments about the song in general. www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/johnlennon/howdoyousleep.html"How Do You Sleep?" So sgt. pepper took you by surprise You better see right through that mother's eyes Those freaks was right when they said you was dead The one mistake you made was in your headHow do you sleep? Ah how do you sleep at night? You live with straights who tell you "you was king" Jump when your mamma tell you anything The only thing you done was yesterday And since you've gone you're just another day How do you sleep? Ah how do you sleep at night? A pretty face may last a year or two But pretty soon they'll see what you can do The sound you make is muzak to my ears You must have learned something all those years How do you sleep? Ah how do you sleep at night?

Notice how Fohn and Feorge were the two Beatles to criticize Faul and they died suspicious deaths and Fingo who did not criticize Faul is still alive!
It looks more like Fohn made the mistake!

Shot in the dark, but maybe a reference to trepanation? IAAP used to allude to Paul getting that done in Nairobi in November 1966.

I always felt that the iamaphoney video meant to suggest that a computer chip with Paul's memories and personna had been inserted into Faul's brain.

I always felt that the iamaphoney video meant to suggest that a computer chip with Paul's memories and personna had been inserted into Faul's brain. I never got that from it. Trepanation was still practiced at the location Paul traveled to in late '66. I think there's even footage of a hospital in Paul's home movies from that trip, with people with bandages on their heads. I've heard from people that Martin (The Phoney Figure) also had it done to him to put original Paul's soul inside of him.

I thought that this ^ might be about an implanted computer chip. I know that Lennon was trepanned, of his own free will. Don't know about the phoney figure.

I think the line and the song was John's reply to Faul's "Too Many People" (Ram) which was released earlier the same year (1971):
That was your first mistake You took your lucky break and broke it in two Now what can be done for you? You broke it in two
That line could just as easily apply to Faul, since his lucky break was becoming a Beatle.

There is a 1984 interview with Paul referencing John wanting him to get a hole drilled in their heads because John wanted to open his “third eye” Preview: Hughes, already having bored a hole into his own skull with a basic drill, was approached by Lennon who told of his desire to open up his own “third eye”. Hughes advised that Lennon needed no such intervention. “Third eye people are your kind of people,” Hughes told Lennon. Because of Lennon’s creative talents and the fact that a small percentage of the population has a metopic skull with a naturally formed hole, Hughes deduced, “there’s no doubt about it, you [already] have the hole.” Lennon was unconvinced. “He kept wanting it,” Hughes remembers, “and I kept contradicting him.” An interview with Paul McCartney further recounts Lennon’s strange desire. According to the film, the members of The Beatles were relaxing together when Lennon seems to have spontaneously suggested that they should have holes drilled into their heads. “Now this wasn’t a joke,” McCartney recalls, “this was like, Let’s go next week, we know a guy who can do it and maybe we could all go together.” “I said, look, you go and have it done, and if it works, great. Tell us all about it and we’ll all have it,” McCartney is quoted in the film. www.prweb.com/releases/2013/2/prweb10457043.htm

Ah how do you sleep at night? I think John was commenting on Billy's ego getting away from him. John seems to also imply that Paul/Billy surrounds himself with sychophants who constantly fawn over him and always tell him he is the greatest Beatle. And that Billy believed he was the real genuis in The Beatles. John refutes this by telling the listener...if you think Paul/Billy is the true musical genius of The Beatles...wait until you see that as time passes his music (musak) will get worse and worse...not better. This was also brought up again with Ringo's "Back Off Boogaloo" song in telling Paul/Billy to make something good (musically) instead of mindless bublegum pop (muzak).
