All along the watchtower Princes kept the view While all the women came and went Barefoot servants too genius.com/Bob-dylan-all-along-the-watchtower-lyrics"A classic song from Dylan’s John Wesley Harding. (Release Date December 27, 1967) The meaning is cryptic; there have been theories of it being about everything from the Vietnam War to Armageddon. Some critics have noted parallels with Isaiah 21:5-9: 5: Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink: arise, ye princes, and anoint the shield. 6: For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth. 7: And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed: 8: And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights: 9: And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.Only Mr. Dylan will ever really know. Who painted Forge's guitar in that clip? I might tell you the story one day of how I met an artist who knew the man you call John Lennon and I call Fohn Fennon. You've probably heard of him.

♫ We take a walk, the sun is shining down Burns my feet as they touch the ground ♫ except on Abbey Road, I guess. I started this thread for a reason, which I hope I can get around to explaining fairly soon. One of these days. May bee. ties in with this: www.biblegateway.com/verse/en/Exodus%203%3A5"And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. " (to Moses)and "And the captain of the LORD'S host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so. "

" (to Moses)and "And the captain of the LORD'S host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so. "Well when you put up the thread, I actually did think of the lyric "We take a walk, the sun is shining down, burns my feet as they touch the ground". Then, I thought of Morrison saying "Sun, sun, sun, burn, burn, burn". The sun depicted as a destructive force, something that burns mankind, rather than as a life sustaining force. Icarus flying too close to the sun. And I started to rack my brains to come up with any others artists depicting the sun as a burning force. But I did not think of the biblical verses you quote here. I'm always interested to see where you go with your analyses. On edit: Time has come today, "Might be burned up by the sun, but I'll have my fun".
