the Princess Bride - The Wedding Scene
"Mawage. Mawage is what bwings us togevaaaaaah today."
Thankfully, this is just a silly scene I've loved since I was a child. I may need to have a dupe groom and turn the wedding into a play where I play Wesley and rescue Buttercup.

Something very bizarre just happened that has changed my life. I received a letter this afternoon from my girlfriend, who I haven't spoken with for nearly 2 years. I've been celibate and severely depressed - borderline suicidal - since we last spoke. So when I saw she sent me a letter, before I opened it, I could feel an anxiety attack taking hold. "What could this mean?" I began reading. She apologized for leaving suddenly and not speaking to me for practically two years. She talked about the spiritual awakening she had experienced recently and hoped that I would forgive her. Then, she stated she realized that she loved me and that we must be wed. It is bizarre writing this, but I am going to marry her. I'm getting married. It only took 7 years... The Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz Day One "Now the same thing still twiching me several times by the Coat, I looked back, and behold it was a fair and glorious Lady, whose Garments were all Skye-colour, and curiously (like Heaven) bespangled with golden Stars, in her right Hand she bare a Trumpet of beaten Gold, whereon a Name was ingraven (which I could well read in) but am as yet forbidden to reveal it. In her left Hand she had a great bundle of Letters of all Languages, which she (as I afterwards understood) was to carry into all Countries. She had also large and beautiful Wings, full of Eyes throughout, wherewith she could mount aloft, and flye swifter than any Eagle. I might perhaps been able to take further notice of her, but because she staid so small time with me, and terror and amazement still possessed me, I was fain to be content. For as soon as I turned about, she turned her Letters over and over, and at length drew out a small one, which with great Reverence she laid down upon the Table, and without giving one word, departed from me." The Lord works in mysterious ways.

Yeah, never mind. I'd rather not meet anyone. I am a very miserable person and a festival like that would make me wear me down. Woodstock would have made me miserable...

An Awfully Big Adventure - JRR Tolkien (BBC 1998)
At 36:57 This Tolkien documentary [Bill Harry, Mersey Beat Magazine] suggests the Beatles wanted to make a film adaptation of the Lord of the Rings.
John would be Gollum. Paul would be Frodo. Ringo would be Sam. George would be Gandalf.
I've never read about this anywhere else. Interesting casting.

Leonard Nimoy - The Ballad Of Bilbo Baggins
[Note the fake ears]
I am glad I have a sense of humor. If I didn't I would be curled up in a dark corner crying.
"Well, he fought with the Goblins. He battled the Trolls. He wheeled with Gollum. A Magick Ring he stole.
He was chased by Wolves Lost in the forest. Escaped in a Barrel From the Elf-King's Hall.
Oh, Bilbo..."
[And flying clothes]

X-2 Counter Espionage Branch
The missions of the X-2 Branch were to:
"Collect information on espionage and subversive activities of the enemy Analyze, process and exchange this intelligence Maintain operational security measures for the OSS and prevent infiltration of the OSS by enemy intelligence services Cooperate and give timely intelligence to United States' and allied intelligence services Create foreign area subversive personality lists to disseminate to commanders and intelligence personnel."
It seems identical the task given to Bill Lee in "Naked Lunch".
Naked Lunch (1991) Directed by David Cronenberg
NOVA infiltrated X-2 by the time the War ended: "At its peak at the end of the War (what is referred to as World War Two), the X-2 Branch had 650 personnel in its office."
By 1947 the UFO propaganda began. That was 68 years ago.
Hehehe.

Synesthesia - Genesis P-Orridge (Interview)
There is a story where the Hell's Angels came to the Apple store/studio in London ca. 1968 and freaked everyone out. They were invited by George Harrison when he went to San Francisco. Around 27 minutes into this interview, Genesis mentions how he became friends with the Angel's in England and was kicked out of the art collective "The Exploding Galaxy", as a result. The Angels were considered too "Evil" or some such thing.
Funny, the Beatles essentially founded the European chapters...

From Wikipedia: "A smiley (sometimes simply called a happy or smiling face) is a stylized representation of a smiling humanoid face, an important part of popular culture. The classic form designed in 1963 comprises a yellow circle with two black dots representing eyes and a black arc representing the mouth." First, I came into contact with the Beatles by way of 5 or 6 "Beatle Biographies". Thes Biographies were gifted to me when I was young because I liked Music and people that like music like the "Beatles". I guess. Anyway, I noticed there were subtle differences with each book, either in the tone of the Author or in the Facts presented in given book. More often than not, one biography would pass over three months in 3 sentences while another would spent three chapters on the implications of a single day. Seven or 8 books were needed. So I began reading books about everything mentioned in every book I read. It is terribly overwhelming and so I decided to create this thread. Second, I seriously doubt the Smiley began in 1963. Third, Revising History is a dangerous game...

The Sad Thing is the music is copy-right-protected when 77% of the time the lyrics are what matters most. And to think Master James believed his voice was sub-par and his lyrics something less.
I had a boyfriend that was color-blind and I would play this song to share the essence of COLOR. Then I played guitar and sang and kissed him to describe Turquoise. There is nothing that can equate to the difficulty of trying to describe color to a person that CANNOT see color. You either realize it is superfluous or you lose your mind.
I lost my mind and THEN realized it was superfluous. It turned into this terrible exhibition where I ended up feeling like a moron and he felt inadequate. But, Color becomes a "euphemism". Color, at some point, MUST become symbolic. At some point you ask, "Why is it important to describe Green?"
My boyfriend didn't like Music... Imagine me, an Art and Music fanatic, falling in Love with someone that is color-blind and doesn't listen to music.
Me: "How can you not listen to music?" Him: "I just don't." Me: "You were never a fan of music?" Him: "Never."
Yet, I sing and he smiles for miles.

Jimi: "I see flags around here and I know EXACTLY what's going on." In The first part of the film, along the stairs of the building there are Golden Dawn banners hanging. Is that Jimi's pad? It wasn't. Jimi Hendrix - Axis Bold As Love: "Anger, he smiles, towering in shiny metallic purple armour. Queen Jealousy, envy waits behind him Her fiery green gown sneers at the grassy ground Blue are the life-giving waters taken for granted, They quietly understand Once happy turquoise armies lay opposite ready, But wonder why the fight is on But they're all bold as love, yeah, they're all bold as love Yeah, they're all bold as love Just ask the axis My red is so confident that he flashes trophies of war, and ribbons of euphoria Orange is young, full of daring, But very unsteady for the first go round My yellow in this case is not so mellowIn fact I'm trying to say it's frightened like meAnd all these emotions of mine keep holding me from, eh, Giving my life to a rainbow like you But, I'm eh , yeah, I'm bold as love Yeah, yeah Well I'm bold, bold as love (hear me talking, girl) I'm bold as love Just ask the axis (he knows everything) Yeah, yeah, yeah!"

In fairness to Veronica, It's easy enough to say that she was 'a witch', or mock her rosary beads, but she paid her dues. ***Unless you know that you yourself are all spiffy with God and humanity***, it might be wise to withhold judgment on others you might feel inclined to belittle. Sometimes the meek can beat you without even trying. *** People falter. Joe Meek - I Hear A New World In the south-eastern United States Christian Cults existed that believed handling poisonous snakes (and not being bitten) was a sign of sincere religiosity. A "Miracle". After all, in the Garden of Eaten [excuse me, EDEN], Lucifer, Satan, was described as a Snake coiled in the Tree of the Knowledge of Good & Evil.

David Bowie - Suffragette City "You can't afford the ticket back from Suffragette City." There is this awful feeling when you are terribly stoned where you are sure you will never return to your normal state of mind. At some point, you must resign to your fate of being out of your head. It is scary. At some point, you discover TIME is an ally. Music, like "Erik Satie - Vexations", will keep your inner monologue on hold long enough to put yourself back together. Again. You Egghead Intellectual... Why can't you just enjoy Life?
