This whole "PID/PIA" thing now has more spin-off's than the Mary Tyler Moore Show. ("Phyllis", "Rhoda", "The Ted Knight Show", "Mr. Grant", "Murray", "The Love Boat"(not really a spin-off, but another vehicle for Gavin MacLeod), "The Betty White Show", and seems like there was one more........ Anyway, we have a new "spin-off", or perhaps, "spun-out" by an old fiend...er, uhm, friend, with the number "III"in his screenname: 1960no.proboards18.com/index.cgiHelp me to understand. No, wait, wait. Don't.

Ah, but it still doesn't top Love, American Style. It was from that show that Happy Days was spun-off, and from there we got Lavern and Shirley, Mork & Mindy, Joanie Loves Chachie, Blanskey's Beauties, Out of the Blue, and the animated versions.

OY. Yeah uhhhhh interesting sig at the end of his posts.. "Anny Suggestion?" Yes, dictionary.com.. Btw Doc, there was actually a "Murray"?? I'd say the new board is like that, although I think more of that short lived Dom Delouise show called "Lotsa Luck".. I believe the plot of the first episode had him getting his foot stuck in a toilet, seems appropriate..

OK< no, I don't believe there was a "Murray", I think I heard Mr. MacLeod on a talk show during the time that Love Boat was an on-going TV hit. I think there was some joking banter about them tossing the idea around and it just seemed that "The Murray Slaughter Show" wasn't real appealing, so no, I made that up......
It was "Rhoda", "Phyllis", "The Lou Grant Show", really.
I think the Ted Knight Show, and the Betty White Show were a different concept, maybe not even Grant Tinker, and Love Boat was Aaron Spelling, wasn't it?
Still, the MTM show was the springboard for all of those actors.
There is a web-page as long as James Brown's rap sheet about the Mary Tyler Moore show. 1,00 opinions about how good (or bad) it was. Let me find that and put it on the O/T board.
As far as this topic---I look at this new board (1960no) and all I can say is, "Huh? Why?"
If one of you figures that out, please post. [img src="http://galeon.hispavista.com/akostuff/img/Dunno2[1].gif"]
