the "early" pic, supposedly depicting a time when he wore the black suit, you'll know what I mean. Guess what, it's from 1980, from the "Coming Up" video,
That's very interesting and the kind of thing that suggests the editor knows exactly what he is doing. Who edits this magazine?

Guess what, it's from 1980, from the "Coming Up" video, (or a still shot from same) I recognized it immediately. Strange, and seemed to be purposely vague, no captioning identifying the time or place... I'm going to have to see if I can get my husband to do that tonight. I'm at my mom's & the magazine is now at my house. Jai, that is so strange that you saw his eye color as the same color as it's coming up on the scan. Both Jo & I saw it as blue. I have to try scanning it again. I agree with T.I. It seems that whomever is the editor of that magazine is poking fun at the PID conspiracy !

Here is some more on the split:
Friday 12 May 2006 08:41am 12 May 2006 IS IT THE END? Macca has look of a sad and lonely man amid fears for his marriage SOMEONE call Sgt Pepper - Paul McCartney looks on the verge of rejoining the Lonely Hearts Club band.
Fears for the former Beatle's four-year marriage to Heather Mills grew yesterday, after he was spotted travelling on a trip to the South of France on his own.
Earlier this week, the former model insisted there was no rift between her and Paul after it emerged they had been living in different houses.
But Maccas solo trip to the village of Beaulieu Sur Mer, near Monaco, begs the question just how close is the 63-year-old to his 38-year-old bride?
Paul cut a lonely figure as he wandered across a public road, clutching a book and a string bag. And he looked even more downcast later as he drank alone in a bar.
One drinker said: Macca looked very pensive. He spent ages on his mobile in a long and involved call. He didnt look very happy. After his lager he had another long call and then walked back to his hotel.
Officially, Paul is in France for a business meeting with the distributors of his video. But there was not one adviser, PA or assistant with him for the trip.
One source said: Its very unusual for him to travel or work alone. Theres a strong feeling he needs time on his own.
Nobodys sure its all over but Paul doesnt look like a happy man who is comfortable with his private life.
The couple started dating after meeting at the Daily Mirrors Pride of Britain Awards in 1999. They tied the knot in 2002 in Monaghan, Ireland. He didnt sign a pre-nuptial agreement to protect his £825million fortune.
But this month reports emerged that the couple who had a daughter, Beatrice, in 2003, were drifting apart. Heather moved 55 miles away to their seafront home in Hove, E Sussex, weeks after having an operation on her leg.
But yesterday, it was believed she was back at the McCartneys main family home in Peasmarsh, E Sussex.
Denying there were problems in the marriage, Heather said: Its hilarious. Paul and I are together 100 per cent.
But insiders believe the chances of the pair working out their differences are receding by the day.
One told 3am Heather is struggling to cope with Maccas fame, feeling that she should receive as much attention as him.
They told us: People scream out Pauls name in the street but dont give Heather a glance. Shes a fiercely independent woman but she feels she had to battle to be Heather Mills instead of Paul McCartneys wife.
Lets just hope theres still a chance for them to say We Can Work It Out&

Lenmac, you beat me to it, you must have "Paul McCartney" in your Google news clipping service?
It is odd, this seemingly moping around in the south of France. However, this business of Heather being jealous of his fame seems like speculation or the imaginings of the writers of these stories, simply because unless she was living under a rock until she met him, she would have to know what to expect.
I dunno, but perhaps the breakup story falls under the "where there's smoke there's fire" category.

I think the PID thing is getting to him too. Moping around the south of France? Did he revisit where "Fool On The Hill" was filmed, wallowing in the good old days? Is he dreading the 18th of June?

You're absolutely right. It would have to catch up with him eventually and when this second generation PID movement started back up, many of us involved wondered when the charade was going to start getting to him. I feel sorry for him. I am not a Bill-hater by no means.

The speculation (and that's all it is of course) continues.. Daily MailSir Paul McCartney's four-year marriage to Heather Mills appears to be on the brink of collapse after the ex-Beatle returned to Britain, but not to his wife's side.
A flustered spokesman for Sir Paul added to the air of crisis surrounding the couple by telling The Mail on Sunday: "I don't think they are with each other.
"I know he is back in the UK but whether they are together now or whether they have seen each other I don't know...I don't think they are. No one is saying anything and I am finding it pretty difficult to get any information. They could be together but they could not be."
It is believed that the couple have spent the past fortnight apart, during which time Heather has been recovering from a painful operation to her amputated leg.
Sir Paul came back to Britain on Friday night from a solo visit to the South of France - but returned alone to his East Sussex farmhouse in Peasmarsh.
He was then picked up by helicopter shortly before 11am yesterday and, according to aides, flown to an unknown destination.
Observers said the McCartney spokesman's failure to stamp on speculation - in fact he fuelled it - was an unmistakable sign of crisis.
If the couple separate, Heather will be entitled to a substantial chunk of Sir Paul's £825million fortune.
Friends of the 63-year-old musician revealed that he looked into the possibility of a pre-nuptial agreement shortly before his wedding in June 2002 but then abandoned the idea.
Sir Paul and Heather, 38, have always claimed they were too much in love to pursue the idea of such a deal.
According to a source, Sir Paul's former publicist Geoff Baker did look into a pre-nuptial agreement. However, the source added: "Geoff discovered it wouldn't be legal in this country."
It is not known how Sir Paul's vast fortune will be divided should the couple divorce. The source said: "If they do divorce, this is going to cost Paul a fortune. He doesn't have anything in place to protect his assets and estates, which was something that always worried the kids."
A leading divorce lawyer said: "She is not entitled to his Beatles and Wings fortune but he has enjoyed huge success in the four years they have been together.
"His earnings are in the region of £25million a year at the moment. So she can expect half of £100million. But because he is worth so much more she is also entitled to a certain standard of living. She would also receive a huge maintenance payment for their daughter. She will be entitled to in the region of £200million."
According to friends of Sir Paul, he has been 'pushed to the limit' by a series of rows with Heather, the latest just before his solo trip to France. They said he decided to flee the marital home last week as a 'warning shot'.
"Anyone who knows Paul knows that this was a deliberate move to tell Heather, "Don't push me too far"," one friend said. "Paul is not antagonistic by nature but his decision to holiday alone to a well-known spot in the South of France where he knew he would be photographed is a warning shot to Heather.
"They have always had a tempestuous relationship and there have been lots of rows but nothing on a scale like this. The main problem is that Heather cannot cope with Paul's fame, the fact that he is loved and revered the world over while she is so hated.
"This has been a huge and dividing issue in their relationship since they married. This is very much about Heather and her public image. She's always giving Paul grief about it and always has. Now she's pushed him a step too far."
While the couple have always argued, their row a fortnight ago has been on a far greater scale and the two are refusing to see each other.
In an astonishing account that suggests the marriage was doomed from the start, close friends of the singer said they predicted the relationship would not last.
One said: "They are just too different. They are different ages, different people from different cultures with different sensitivities."
Following the wedding, Sir Paul's public image changed dramatically. He became a father for the fourth time, dyed his hair from flecked grey to a youthful chestnut and vowed that he would never smoke marijuana again.
He began living a jet-set lifestyle, to the surprise of his friends, and Heather Mills - the woman appropriately nicknamed 'HM' by McCartney's aides and advisers - was at the centre of it all.
Last night, as she continued to recuperate from her operation, a family friend said: "Paul is one of the most loyal and caring men. It is inconceivable that he would not be with his wife while she was ill.
"But perhaps this argument was a step too far and he's finally retaliating."

Daily MailThe main problem is that Heather cannot cope with Paul's fame, the fact that he is loved and revered the world over while she is so hated.Well, beyond unscrupulous media picking Heather over like vultures, I'm not sure the rest of us hate her. I can't exactly say she's another Princess Diana, but I mean she's done a lot of good things for children and with her charity work. As for Paul's fame, I don't even know why she's fretting over that since he's singing with the angels now... Oh wait, she probably means her husband... Okay, well I have a solution--> Tell the Truth! Hey, that would probably deflate Sir Faul's fame faster than anything!

Diana had charisma, Heather has no personality. She's an opportunist with a pet cause and she hooked a famous doppleganger, whether she knows the truth of it all, or is hogsnoodled into thinking he is JPM, one can only venture to guess. But being married to the image of JPM, although a faulsimile, doesn't hurt to get attention..

That is very true, DarkHorse. So, how do you suppose this is going to end ? What he needs is a really good friend who is willing to spill the beans in a way that he can't deny it. Someone who has good connections & is respected by the media. He will of course have to be promised total anonymity in this.

Maybe some of the bad karma that goes along with taking over someone else's identity is finally coming back on poor Billy boy. Don't start that again! I'm sorry but whilst Heather isn't in the same league as Diana (who by the way was vilified by the press before her death, then she suddenly became a martyr) I reckon she means well and isn't the "superbitch" that everyone keeps saying (thanks to the press once again) IMO the marriage was never going to work, there's at least a 25 year age gap and thats if Bill is a similar age to the original JPM.

Maybe a strange detour and I don't think it's the primary reason of their split but what about the weed.
It's commonly known that Heather made him quit smoking it.
Maybe he needed that to keep his role up...just a few minutes every day in wonderland to forget about what all had happened.
It's also known that marihuana can relief a person from pain...what if he needed it to relieve him from the pain of constant surgery?
I don't think it's a prime reason for the troubles..I'd like to ascribe that to Heather's nature..but it might have played a role

P.P., I don't understand what you mean. I figured that I should've written on the East Coast of the good ole' US of A. However, since I mentioned the Price is Right, I didn't think that it was shown outside the United States. Where did you get 3:47 out of noontime Jan, you've made a very valid point. Bill has been using Marijuana for many, many years as a means of anesthesizing himself against the situation. By forcing him to quit using it, she had effectively removed his security blanket, his safety net.
