This morning a local radio station was playing a series of Beatle love songs when "She Loves You" came on. Now, I'll admit, I'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes, and so 42 years is about par for me, but what I heard (and got on tape) at the beginning of the song seems to be:
"She loves you, yeah yeah yeah She'd love to, Yeah yeah yeah She loved to, yeah yeah yeah yeah!"
I had always thought it was just "She loves you" repeated three times. So I was just wondering, is it all the new technology that brings out clarity in the old recordings, or is this something people have known about from the beginning? Or is my tape machine perverted, and it's not even there?

No takers, eh? I was hoping someone would tell me I wasn't crazy. May have been too much to ask. Does anyone else hear something other than "She loves you" three times?

I'll listen to it when I get the chance. I'll let you know what I hear. No matter what I hear, I can attest to the fact that you're NOT crazy ! ;D

Just played it....... I dunno, it's hard to tell, but it does sound like Loved instead of Loves at times. It's just hard to tell if that was intended or not. There were 3 of'em harmonizing... it could be that one of them accidently sings loved. Who knows..... but I certainly hear what yer talkin about. Maybe I should watch them play the song on Sullivan & see if they do the same thing. (after work... gotta watch Days Of Our Lives right now)

Well, there could have been a mix up in their words.
I remember the old song "I'll Get You" it was on the Capital Release "The Beatles Second Album". You'll have to excuse me, I am more familiar with the Capital releases than the British versions which are on CD's. There was one part of the song "Well, there's gonna be a time, when I'm gonna change your mind..." Well John was singing change and Paul must have started to say make, so it sounds like "Well there's gonna be a time, when I'm gonna mange your mind"...My sister and I laugh about it still.
There's also a little quirk in "If I Fell", on one recording I can remember hearing Paul's voice crack during "And that she will cry"....Now that was from A Hard Day's Night and on the US release, it was from United Artists label. So perhaps when the same album was released in the 1970's on Apple, there was an alternate recording. Because on my sister's UA release it didn't have Paul's voice crack. Because my sis had the original Capital and UA releases, while in the 70's all the records were on the Apple label. I know, I bought copies of my own when I was a teen. I helped wear out the Capital recordings to the point that it sounded like a campfire crackling in the background.
For those of us old enough to remember scratchy records....and skips and cracks...

I have to say that it's alot easier to hit a button to skip over to the next song, than it is to move the needle over ! ;D

....and tryin' to skip to the next song right after happy hour was usually pretty hazardous to the record.!
....and havin' to get up every dang 20-30 minutes or so to change albums. What a pain-in-the-butt that was.
I had so many albums back then that I had one of those big record bins from a retail store. That's the way to go if ya have enough music to fill it. Of course it's long gone & the lp's now fill a bedroom closet.

I listened to it this morning. I heard " She loved you " as the second line. I guess it could've been " She'd love to". I have to listen to it again. [img src="http://galeon.hispavista.com/akostuff/img/Dunno2[1].gif"]
