That's a pretty scary line-up. I have to wonder if he knows exactly what all those people being interviewed together represents. As far as I'm concerned, they're probably all agents for TPTB !

Maybe Yoko and the others, but Paul? The same Paul that wrote "Back In The U.S.S.R" in the 60's? A song that really pissed off nearly every government outside the Soviet Union? Paul's an agent of himself, in my opinion. If he's an agent for the Powers That Be, he's putting on one hell of an act....

Jude, I don't think that "Paul" actually wrote that. I would find it more believable that John wrote it ! ;D

Ah, but wouldn't John have been more sarcastic? In the late sixties John would have been the last person to write things like: Those Ukraine girls really knock me out They leave the west behind Moscow girls make me sing and shout That Georgia's always on my mind He was too busy writing suicide-inspired elegies such as "Yer Blues". Faul was always great at writing feel-good schmaltz (although occasionally he would shock everyone with a "Helter Skelter"). John was always great at writing witty politically incorrect lines such as "if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao, you're not going to make it with anyone anyhow". Well, that's my two cents, anyway.

The story is that Paul(Bill) wrote that song under the suggestion of The Beach Boys' Mike Love.

Well, that's my two cents, anyway. Two more cents: 1) I doubt that Faul wrote much, if any, of the lyrics of the songs that were ghostwritten for him. 2) The Chairman Mao line, which Lennon/Brill said in 1970 he regretted having written, goes with the rest of the song's generally reactionary, anti-revolution lyrics. Which is why it became a favorite, with lyrics printed on their poster and flyers, of the conservative, young Republicanesque, pro-Vietnam War "Young Americans for Freedom" (YAF) organization promoted by William F. Buckley in the late 60s and 1970s. Lennon/Brill began wearing a Comrade Mao badge on his clothes in the early 70s as his politics appeared to go much farther left.

Jude, the lyrics to "Back In the USSR", and the melody as well, are meant to be a parody of the Beach Boys' sound and typically inane lyrics. Specifically it is a take-off on "California Girls". I know you're probably too young to have known. The song can't really be considered a serious John or Paul composition, although it certainly may have clout as a PID/PWR clue.

The Larry King interview JoJo mentions will also air Tuesday July 3rd from what I've heard.

No offense was meant. These are your words:
"In the late sixties John would have been the last person to write things like:
Those Ukraine girls really knock me out They leave the west behind Moscow girls make me sing and shout That Georgia's always on my mind"
They clearly left the impression that you may not have known that the song was a parody, and given your age, it was a possibility that you would not have known. I said nothing about your intelligence.

There is something to be said for having a few miles on ya, and especially being alive during the time; it's one thing to watch the movie, quite another to be a part of the activities going on. Anyway, I'm pretty sure no offense was intended. Jeez, usually we're the ones getting kidded for being old timers, heh.

Just watched it. There were a few "uncomfortable" moments. Sir. Paul looked a bit rough.... and he pinched off a piece of Ringo's hand.
Also, they mentioned that "the drums were the key".
At the very end we see Larry King introduce a small kid to Sir. Paul, but he seems to ignore him. The camera cuts off too soon to tell.

Watched it and the body language between Faul and Ringo was rather pathetic. You would think of bandmates would seem a bit more enthusiastic to get together to celebrate their music.
Noticed that Bill wore his brown contacts. His nose seems different, from the profile. And I still say, agreeing with the idea that Bill is significantly older than JPM's age would have been 65. He looks older than Ringo.
IMHO, none of the Beatles were actually there. Just two shells of what were Beatles, or one who tried to be a Beatle.
