Hold it up to a good light source, with the lyric side facing you. You should be able to see the photos from the other side clearly. Go to "Martha My Dear" and read the sentence "Hold your HAND OUT you silly girl LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE (italics mine). What do you see after the word "done"?
Thanks to A----- for the suggestion of holding the poster to the light.

Well since many of us don't have the original poster on hand, would you be so kind as to tell us what you see?

Hmm, what would be helpful is some kind of back lit table that you could lay the poster on, and then see better what bleeds through and where. It's funny, this is one of the subliminal methods used in magazine ads, according to a book or two by Wilson Bryan Key. (a straightforward ad for something neutral on one page, and the opposite will have a scantily clad woman for example..)

Here it is. Sorry about the poor quality. It is best to download it and play around with contrast and zoom. The sentence ends with the beginning of the so-called skeleton hands reaching out to JPM's back. It's the only instance I've noted so far, where the bleed through words match the image. If this is of any value, it begs the question of who "she" is. Is "she" death? The alleged woman in the car? Sylvie? Thanks for looking. download-v5.streamload.com/94fc547d-26f7-4cbd-95a5-9c31daf49d6b/eccopurda/Hosted/martha.jpgon edit: I always felt that Paul looked liked he was being pushed out of a New York City subway trainin that photo. That pole is used for people who are standing to steady themselves. Also, there is the other photo of Faul within the 'Martha' box. Notice that he is looking serious and that his HAND is prominent, possibly to emphasize the hand motif of the other image and lyric.

That is an excelllent clue, MB. I see exactly what you've described. I don't remember that photo of Paul on the White Album Poster. How could I have missed it ! [img src="http://galeon.hispavista.com/akostuff/img/Dunno2[1].gif"] As far as the skeletal hands are concerned, they could very well be representative of Sylvie's. I'm of the opinion that Paul's death was caused by what happened to Sylvie, and of her being replaced. I think that he realized that something funny was going on, and he was subsequently "silenced".

Thanks to A----- for the suggestion of holding the poster to the light. There may be other things to look for. I was thinking we'd see the silhouette of a vulture or something. The pictures seem to be arranged in a way that they might form letters.

Thanks for your kind response, lili. It's probably not even a clue at all.

I think you were responding to my post as I was retracting it. Lack of interest, I suppose. And feeling stupid for posting a probable non-clue.

Thanks for your kind response, lili. It's probably not even a clue at all. Hmm well I think so, at least in the sense that it's a pointer, a way of saying this is another way of decoding, or that decoding is even someting to consider. There are (ghostly) hands, the lyrics say "hold your hand out".. Pretty straighforward. Now, how about Cry Baby Cry? At twelve o'clock a meeting round the table For a seance in the dark With voices out of nowhere Put on specially by the children for a lark. What shows through under these lines are the series of five pictures, (a film strip) with the first one of John from one of his books, three of Faul, Brian (Frian?) and the others rehearsing Penny Lane. The last pic is the audience for Hey Jude. (pretty sure) What has that got to do with the lyrics above? Perhaps not much, but there is a similar sized series of five pics over to the right of the poster of...a meeting around a table... So perhaps it isn't so simple as lyrics match what is precisely on the other side....(is it ever simple?) Nothing that isn't shown perhaps, but yeah.. Gotta work for your daily bread.. (or is it daily clue)

I've always found that stanza very interesting. I've wondered where John came up with that idea ?!
