According Mark Lewisohn's book that accounts the daily, weekly and monthly activities of the Beatles throughout the 60's, George held a press conference on September 19, 1966 at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Bombay, India to discuss why he was in India. This was held on a Monday fyi. George had already been in India for a few days already with his wife Patty and people started to realize he was there and that's why he called the press conference. It was to give an official announcement as to why he was there, what he was doing, etc.
The interesting part of this is the date he called it. Does anyone know if this can be verified? If September 19 is correct, we have more validation for the date of JPM's death and this is because of what the other Beatles did during this time. It also states around this time John was in Spain filming 'How I Won The War'.

The above evidence leads me to believe Stupid Bloody Tuesday was September 13. If Paul was missing, why go to India? I would think you would stick around England and look for your buddy. This all changes, though, if the dates in Lewisohn's book are incorrect. But I just can't get it past me that it took them more than a day or two to find Paul.

By narrowing down a date of Paul's disappearance, or death, it can only help to make it easier to really look at the events that were going on with the Beatles - Paul's family and friends around that exact time. Somebody must've responded in a telling way over the loss of Paul at the time it happened. George and Patty being in India means they might've heard about it only after others close to Paul did. I'm just guessing. I don't want to suggest that the press conference was meant as a "distraction" in any bad way. But maybe it was nesessary at the time. I wonder if there's a clip of that PC anywhere?!

Well, when JPM disappeared , he could have thought he was secretly negotiationg a new record deal, or had eloped with Sylvie Vartan...
Or they just wanted to put up a front that all was well while they tried to resolve the situation.
Look to Walrus.
George the "elementary penguin singing hare krishna" in India while THEY were "kicking Edgar Allen POE" (JPM).
(While John is searching for JPM in France (climbing up the Eiffel Tower)?)
