I was watching Help !!! this morning. I noticed that in the jewelry shop scene, Paul has at least 4 of Ringo's rings on his fingers. They appear to fit him up to the knuckle. To me, this means that Paul was not much larger a man than Ritchie is. If he was, than Ringo's rings would only fit on his pinky finger !

Lili, I suspect that the Dylan song "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues" may be about Paul. If that's true, the person who is "Just like Tom Thumb" is, in other words, "a midget". (Tom Thumb was a character in a children's story (maybe Grimm fairy tales.) I don't think Paul actually was a midget, but the point is he was small. JLTTB would be "Paul's Blues."

How about the scene where JPM gets shrunken down to a tiny insect size and is covered in a sticky brown fluid. You think they're trying to tell us something about his actual physical condition?

I still find it creepy when one of them checks his shoe to see if he squished Paul !

....... hhhmmmm I know... a continuous loop of (whoever it is) checkin' their shoe to see if they stepped on Paul mixed in with M.Y.'s double-exposure thing.

Interesting that the film involved a "sacrifice" and Ringo was that sacrifice for most of the film. I find it a curiosity that Ringo had more of a "lead" when John and JPM were the main focus of the Beatles. And this was true in MMT as well as AHDN.
Why was this eastern theme, with a goddess figure in the film, and sacrifice part of a plot of a pop group? Was there something sinister planned ahead and used in this film but rather than being evil, was presented in comedy form.....? And used in that format just seems like a silly story, rather than being something deliberate or subversive.
Was this, even as early as 1965 a plot by the "shadow system" to manipulate minds? By introducing the youth to eastern thinking, totally different from the "western" thinking of that time? How early was it when George was influenced by Eastern wisdom?
We have to remember the time this was first filmed, before the hippie movement, before Sgt. Pepper, the kids were still living in a "Leave It To Beaver" or "Father Knows Best" mentality, even though in reality, most people never really had it like those tv families. But yet it seems as though we have been conditioned to think that the 1950's were all sock hops, drive in burger shops with waitresses on skates, and sodas at the malt shop. How in reality, most people who grew up in those times ended up messed up teens and adults in the 1970's...
We remember things as they never really were....

We need for someone who grew up in England at that time to address this. There are many Indian people in England. They have Indian take outs over there like we have Chinese &/or Mexican ones in the USA. I'm pretty sure that they were just poking fun at Indian culture. BTW, Kali is a Hindu goddess. From the wikipedia - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kali : Kali (Sanskrit: काली) is a goddess with a long and complex history in Hinduism (although sometimes presented in the West as dark and violent). Her earliest history as a figure of annihilation still has some influence, while more complex Tantric beliefs sometimes extend her role so far as to be the Ultimate Reality and Source of Being. Finally, the comparatively recent devotional movement largely conceives of Kali as a straightforwardly benevolent mother-goddess. Therefore, as well her association with the deva (god) Shiva, Kali is associated with many devis (goddesses) - Durga, Bhavani, Sati, Rudrani, Parvati, Chinnamasta, Chamunda, Kamakshi, Uma, Meenakshi, Himavati, Kumari and Tara. These names, if repeated, are believed to give special power to the worshipper.

The Columbia professor/CIA agent/ Texas Oil Dynasty-marrying aide to the Dalai Lama, Robert Thurman, is the father of Uma Thurman, whom he named after the Hindu goddess Uma. Interesting to learn that she is associated with Kali who is often depicted as representing destruction, murder and war. Timothy Leary became the godfather of Uma Thurman, he was married to Robert Thurman's current wife, the daughter of a German aristocrat. Lol, please, i'm not gonna debate Pauls size as it's been done to death, but that is not evidence of anything. I think we've already said that Paul had long, slender fingers, ideal for bass playing. I'm 6'3", yet I have smallish hands, I have a friend who is 5'10" and his hands are enormous, yet his fingers are as slender as mine, we could both wear a ring that fits us exactly the same, does that make us the same height? No. Hand size and chunkiness of hands bears no relation to height i'd say.

I hadn't realized that. My husband is 6 ft. 1 in. & I'm 5 ft. 1 1/2 in. tall. His hands are twice the size as mine, as I would've expected being that he's so much bigger than me. My daughter is about 3 inches taller than me, & a ring that would fit my index finger barely fits on her ring finger. I was just making an observation based on my own experiences.

Just thinking of him as a "godfather" image is twisted.

I once danced with a neice of his during my snooty boarding school days. And once was enough! She was a bit "out there". And coming from me[/b], you know she was. P.S. Timothy Leary's dead. ;D
