Just receive itIt appears Bill was forced into the roll. They forged him into the mold, possibly with truama based mind control. 1:17 of the video sure looks like the fool on the hill."--------------------------------------
When someone writes:
"It appears Bill was forced into the roll. They forged him into the mold,
possibly with truama based mind control.",
I immediately become suspicious, because I don't believe artists can be made to perform well
by being subjected to abuse, but in this case, the video itself might leave the viewer to believe
that that is what is being said. Therefore, let's look carefully at the video. Here's a larger version:
Yes - Owner of a Lonely Heart - musicvideowww.youtube.com/watch?v=ttoM9pPkWXI Here are my notes on the video as I watched it:
1:12 - Drum strike - enough!
1:14 - face close up
"I'm gone. I'm gone! Maybe there's another way to do this!"
animal magic / shamanic magic
flees to London
2:16 - music resumes; he's walking in the crowd (sold out to the system)
2:33 - accosted by men in black
brought to court; anticipates torture in captivity; kangaroo court
3:27 - actual court room
4:19 - shot of woman in bed (false accusation?)
4:21 - brown ring in the bed
(Can someone explain?), many shots of bug abuse
4:37 - elevator doors closed on him; trapped - sent 'underground'
4:47 - steel being forged; made stronger by abuse he suffers
5:23 - escape to roof; confronted, 5:58 dives off
flies backward in time (shades of Iaap)
6:23 - to where he is walking; this time IN COLOR.
6:27 - stops, turns around, walks the other way. No longer part of the system; no longer cooperating. No longer sold out.
end
Here is my take on it:
Nothing in this video is about Faul; it is
all about Paul.
The heavy strike on the drum at 1:12 represents that he has had enough.
He thinks he may be able to bring about positive changes in another way than being a Beatle.
"He bag production." "I'm gone. I'm gone! Maybe there's another way to do this!"
The animal shots relate to the Native American tradition of being a shaman. A shaman is a "medicine man",
or more specifically, a man of spirit who can do 'magic'. He can make use of the animal world
as extensions of his spirit. He can
be the snake, the eagle, the lizard, etc., and in some cases,
he can manifest as those creatures. As a possible "son of the magician", Paul may have had
a natural psychic ability that would lend itself to such mystical pursuits.
None-the-less, he goes to London and tries to fit in with "the system", going to work like any
'ordinary Joe'; unknown and unrecognized by those around him.
(A temporary secretary?)
While walking to work one day, he basically visualizes what the future holds for him, and what he
sees is that he is totally vulnerable. The powers that be can frame him for a crime, railroad him
through a Kangaroo court, and "disappear him" and torture him.
He envisions the beatings he may be subject to, and though what doesn't kill him makes him
stronger, he still sees that he can't escape, short of killing himself.
All the insect tortures that are shown indicate to me what he anticipates; not what he has been through.
Now notice: from 2:33, where he is accosted, to 5:58, where he dives off the building is all him imagining
what his fate may be. Notice that the fantasy starts in black and white, representing both the blah-ness
of being a "mere mortal" sold out to the system,
and the start of the imagining.
From the dive at 5:58, we, the viewers, return to the moment of him walking down the street.
This time it is in color, meaning: it is what is happening in real time; in "reality".
And
what is shown is that he sees the error of his decision to try to 'disappear' within the system,
and he turns away from it. More specifically, he turns away from his decision to abandon
his original
intent to bring about a change by being a Beatle, and to be just be like anyone else.
He turns away from being someone who, in a relative way, "doesn't matter" in
the greater scheme of things. A "no-where man".
I have to think that John Lennon's song "Steel and Glass" describes what John thinks of
Paul's period of "working within the system". Here are those lyrics:
johnlennon.lyrics.info/steelandglass.htmlThe owner of the lonely heart is, imo, Paul. The "Lonely Hearts Club" consists of those who miss him.
Why Paul has a lonely heart, we are not told, but the matter has been addressed in other posts.
(
sings)
"...there's more to the picture, than meets the eye..."For my two cents, this may be the most significant part of the song (not the video):
After my own decision
(Paul's decision to leave the group)They confused me so!
(the people who would rather he hadn't, and others)My love said "Never question your will at all;
In the end you've got to go."
Look before you leap,
And don't you hesitate at all - no no
Owner of a lonely heart
-----------------------
It seems that his timidity in accomplishing his intended mission had to do with having been
broken hearted and disappointed by previous attempts:
Say - you don't want to chance it
You've been hurt so before
Watch it now:
The eagle in the sky -
How he dancin' one and only.
You - lose yourself
No not for pity's sake
There's no real reason to be lonely
Be yourself
Give your free will a chance
You've got to want to succeedIn the Bible accounts, it is written that the disciples gave up on their missions after Jesus had ascended.
"Might as well go back to fishing then", they said. They lost their enthusiasm for what they were
about 'til the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit empowered them.
Happens to the best of us.
Owner of a lonely heart
Much better than - a
Owner of a broken heartHe's a much better person than just (only) someone with a broken heart.
