If you click on this site and scroll down to the third picture, you will see a pic of Bill looking much like Ricky Nelson in his later years.

I find the resemblance in this photo interesting.
Here's a song that Ricky had out called "Garden Party"
The 20th anniversary of Ricky's tragic plane accident is around this time. His sons and daughter as well as older brother Dave were on Larry King Live last night.
Garden Party
I went to a garden party to reminisce with my old friends
A chance to share old memories and play our songs again
When I got to the garden party, they all knew my name
No one recognized me, I didn't look the same
But it's all right now
I learned my lesson well
You see, you can't please everyone
So ya got to please yourself
People came from miles around, everyone was there
Yoko brought her walrus, there was magic in the air
An' over in the corner, much to my surprise
Mr. Hughes his in Dylan's shoes wearing his disguise
But it's all right now
I learned my lesson well
You see, you can't please everyone
So ya got to please yourself
Lot in dah dah da, lot in dah dah dah
Played them all the old songs, thought that's why they came
No one heard the music, we didn't look the same
I said hello to Mary Lou, she belongs to me
When I sang a song about a honky tonk, it was time to leave
But it's all right now
I learned my lesson well
You see, ya can't please everyone
so ya got to please yourself.
Lot dah dah dah...
Someone opened up a closet door and out stepped Johnny B Good
Playing guitar like a ringin' the bell and lookin' like he should
If you gotta play at garden parties, I wish you a lotta luck
But if memories were all I sang, I'd rather drive a truck
But it's all right now
I learned my lesson well
You see, ya can't please everyone
So ya got to please yourself
An' it's all right now, learned my lesson well
You see, ya can't please everyone so you got to please yourself
I'm not saying that this was definitely written about Bill, but it sure does seem to fit.
I was curious to see that Yoko brought her walrus....
I thought the walrus was Paul?
I also thought that the part when he got to the garden party, they knew his name, but didn't recognize him, he didn't look the same, was an interesting point.
I don't know that Ricky and Bill ever met. But it would make interesting conversation for us if they had...
