That top Ringo photo makes it clear that he was replaced. The 1969 Laugh-In "Ringo" is not the same individual.

But he is carrying a warm gun! Probably shot Paul! Btw, regarding Ringo's dogs, everybody knows "Daisy" was the name of Blondie and Dagwood's dog! It was like naming it Snoopy, or Marmaduke.

Some of the confusion may arise from the fact that Ringo had an occasional stand-in "double" -- a good friend who happened to be perhaps the most convincing actor in the history of cinema.

He looks, acts and sounds like exactly the same man. I disagree. Listen closely to the voice on Act Naturally and then on Octopus' Garden, or the speaking voices of, say 1964 and 1969. Look at the facial features on videos such as the youtube Hey Bulldog video, the Help! movie videos and 1969 Ringo Laugh-In that I posted recently. TKIN has done some good work on this, although it has their usual problem of spotty and unsustained follow-up. There's this thread for starters: 60if.proboards21.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=Essential&thread=1138628000&page=2Of course the funniest thing would be if the real identity of the man who had plastic surgery to become Fingo was discovered, and it turns out to be ... Pete Best.

I started a thread about a photo in which "Ringo" looks...exactly like Pete Best in a Beatles wig. That photo: Below is a shot from a set of photos (dated 62.06.22 @ the Cavern) that supposedly document Ringo's first session playing with the other Beatles, after Brian brought him aboard: Is that a profile that, out of context, you would identify as being that of "Ringo Starr"? That kid has a very sharp, straight nose. This is another photo of a man identified as "Ringo", playing drums with Rory & The Hurricanes in 1960: Does that look like the profile of the same man to you? This one has a nose tip that bends from the bridge, sloping out and down and forming two nearly perfect right angles in the process. More small, pointy nosed Ringo (63.01.24): And then this "Ringo" who has a small, straight nose with a gently curved tip: Bonus Photo: I hope that whoever designed and fabricated this ear was fired.
