It was a fictional (?) band with a bassist named William Campbell. Looks like the website was shut down and the TV show isn't to be. I googled them and found this: Part of the gag? They aren't on allmusic.com... www.prweb.com/releases/2005/01/prweb199680.htm

I've got them if you want them. They made fun of Beatles songs. Magical Plow (MMT), Rain Today (Rain), they even have a track called "Carnival of Snow." Silly, isn't it? -j

LOL! ;D ... Milton, the band's guitarist and principle songwriter along side bassist William Campbell who disappeared sometime around 1967. ...
2005 promises to be the biggest year yet for the The Poolies who had only briefly gained international attention in 1966 when the tragic disappearance of Campbell added fuel to the "Paul is dead" conspiracy theories alleging the death and cover-up of a popular bassist from the other Liverpool. A spate of rumors suggested Campbell, who had occasionally participated in lookalike competitions, actually replaced the deceased musician.
"Obviously, that salted our collective wound pretty good. We had lost our best friend. It should have been 'Will is dead.' But we got through it, even though he didn't. And let me put the record straight again -- he didn't," Milton says with a wistful laugh. www.prweb.com/releases/2005/01/prweb199680.htm

JoJo, if you find it, please put it up if you don't mind, so we can listen. That is, if it is worthwhile. I bet even Bill doesn't have a copy.

Hey found it, so since you asked.. www.jojoplace.org/Shoebox/Poolies/Guess it could be described as Rutlesque, who in turn were Beatlesque.. Two degrees of separation from the Beatles sound if that makes sense.. Thanks again Pennylane, wherever you are.

The second song is just wrong. I could not help but laugh during most of it. It started out so innocently. I can vision a Rutty connection.
