Isis (Ancient Greek: Ἶσις, original Egyptian pronunciation more likely Aset) is a goddess in Ancient Egyptian religious beliefs, whose worship spread throughout the Greco-Roman world. She was worshipped as the ideal mother and wife as well as the patroness of nature and magic. She was the friend of slaves, sinners, artisans, and the downtrodden, and she listened to the prayers of the wealthy, maidens, aristocrats, and rulers. Isis is often depicted as the mother of Horus, the hawk-headed god of war and protection (although in some traditions Horus's mother was Hathor). Isis is also known as protector of the dead and goddess of children. The name Isis means "Throne " Her headdress is a throne. As the personification of the throne, she was an important representation of the pharaoh's power. The pharaoh was depicted as her child, who sat on the throne she provided.www.cuttingedge.org/news/n1866.cfm www.youtube.com/user/PauIMcCartneylol

for the crowley fans lol * "I am the Queen of the heavenly ones, of the Gods, and of the Goddesses, united in one form. I am She who was, who is, and will be; my form is one ... yet I am nameless in the deep ... Some call me Mother of the Gods ... others yet again Isis, veiled mother of Mystery." [Aleister Crowley, "The Equinox", as quoted in "Fallen Angel", p. 222] 1 2/1 2/1 2

It'll either bring the end of the world or some much-needed relief to a few thousand hurricane victims, but either way, December 12, 2012 is shaping up to be an unforgettable night. NYC's premier venue ;D, Madison Square Garden, will host 12-12-12, a benefit concert for those still suffering the effects of Hurricane Sandy. Kanye West, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Alicia Keys, Jon Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, and Roger Waters are the megawatt stars in alignment for the evening's event. Hopefully, that much talent and fame in one arena will work to keep the Mayans' predictions of universal apocalypse from coming true.what? We want it to come true! lol seatgeek.com/blog/concerts/12-12-12-sandy-benefit-concert-ticketsseatgeek.com/blog/concerts/12-12-12-sandy-benefit-concert-tickets#ticketsscroll down for vids!

Shoveling the dining room This is what people out of Bay Head, NJ are dealing with from Hurricane Sandy. Cleaning up the shore is going to be a long process, but if everyone gives a hand, it will help speed up the process. #JerseyStrong

for LOVELYRITA : Thanks, but no thanks for the vegetarian turkey set up. But I'm sure a twinkie version would be appealing to some twinkie heads.
