About a year & a half ago I made note of all the strange themes seen in the Saturday Morning Beatles cartoons. Make of it what you will. Just thought I'd post this, since the cartoons have been getting mentioned lately.
Tell Me What You See – What struck me was the machine’s capability to produce clones. Or more specifically here, the other three Beatles were turned into Ringos.
I’m Looking Through You - The ghost of a pharaoh enters Ringo’s body, while kicking Ringo’s spirit out.
Got To Get You Into My Life - They learn from a swami how to have an out-of-body experience.
Baby’s In Black – Located in Transylvania. Professor Cyborg wants Paul to marry his latest creation; a half-girl, half-bat wanna-be pop singer.
Also this;
Ticket To Ride - We see an alien Ringo doppelganger. They both had the hobby of putting young women in cages.
No Reply – Master of disquise “Anyface” impersonates Paul and crashes their vacation. The local police chief decides to have his niece, the world's biggest Beatles fan, listen to them sing so that she can pick out the real Paul. But even she isn’t sure.
Tomorrow Never Knows – Mayan mythology
In Paperback Writer we see a poster behind Paul that says “Beetle Killer”
The other three are prisoners numbered 98, 99 and 100. Paul's serum kills them.
Another shot of John as a war hero.
In Eight Days a Week, a girl grabs at Paul while he's driving, causing the steering wheel to come off and they drive off a pier. (Remember these were produced in 1965-66.)
In Mr. Moonlight, they meet Professor Ludwig Van Brilliant, and convince a tribe on Moonie Island that their music controls lunar eclipses. The Tribe leader then gives them a submarine.
I Feel Fine - They go to Hollywood and Paul of all people spends the entire episode showing them how everything there is fake and phoney.
Devil In Her Heart – George & Ringo go to Transylvania again. They eat human parts and drink human blood, then it gets into witchcraft.
If I Fell – A mad scientist switches John’s brain with a robotic Frankenstein monster’s.
Eight Frankenstein scenes that I've seen.
And of course there's the one from the Yellow Submarine film where John is a Frankenstein and he has to drink a special potion to become human.
Also in Yellow Submarine, we see the scene with the multiple Beatles encircling the flashing cube.
There are many more with esoteric themes such as: Egypt, aliens, time travel, vampires, transgender, witchcraft et. al.
