Upon returning from America, sometime in the first week of September 1966, Paul McCartney was interviewed by Penny Valentine, on behalf of Disc & Music Echo, September 10th issue: ‘A Beatle talks about that U.S. trip’ We here enjoy Paul’s lighthearted, witty, laid-back tone. The interview was given in Cavendish Avenue ‘in his new house, cosy but with no piano yet.’ Here it is: He doesn’t say they won’t be touring any more, does he? A Mistaken Inference On 28 August the Beatles last interview took place, in the US (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGbBAGzB7dw). I suggest that this was not JPM’s last interview, as hitherto claimed - 60if.proboards.com/thread/2152/pauls-last-interview. Yes a lookalike did appear on the August 29 plane journey from San Francisco to LA, instead of JPM - we don’t know why. Celebs have doubles, but their use doesn’t mean the celeb is dead. For the claim that JPM died over the last US tour, see the Plastic Macca website: plasticmacca.blogspot.co.uk/2009/12/was-paul-mccartney-replaced-in-august.html. This double (who doesn’t sing) turned up again in the 1997 Magical Mystery Tour, at 8 minutes. The First JPM ‘double’ – August 29th, 1966, while he was still alive Later on in December Penny Valentine did another article entitled, ‘The Beautiful Ones’ for Disc & Music Echo, where she picked out her eight best-looking men in the pop world. JPM was her number one - Adonis! (Dec. 31) Little did she realise that by then, he was no longer in this world.

Would anyone else care to express an opinion? I suggested that the guy coming off the plane end of August 1966 was some JPM lookalike, maybe the retard-looking guy who appears in Magical Mystery Tour 8 mins, here:

I agree - he is a look alike - a goofy look alike - he is not JPM.

Paul must have been doing a LOT of drugs on the plane - he looks totally different!

There is a list of all the Beatle interviews here: www.beatlesinterviews.org/ The big change is August/September 1966: before that most of the interviews were naturally of the Fab 4 together, while after that interviews of the 4 together are rare. Here are yearly totals of BEATLE INTERVIEWS OF ALL FOUR OF THEM TOGETHER - counting each yearly period as starting in September and ending in August of the next year, if you see what I mean: 1962-3: 5 1963-4: 33 1964-5: 24 1965-6: 15 1966-7: 1 1967-8: 1 1968-9: 0 Eighty percent of all the interviews there given were of the Fab Four together, up until August 1966. After that only 5% of all interviews (up to August 1969) were of the group together. Surely this is conclusive proof. N.B., this list of Beatle interviews misses out what I have here called the Last Interview, with JPM.
