On 30th of April, 1969 The Express reported:
That was all. Then a few days later came the bombshell: he was found dead on May 2nd in the cellar of his home. It added: ‘crime is not suspected.’ I find that ve-e-e-ry strange. Not suspected? He had been reported missing, then his corpse suddenly appears in the basement of his own home. ‘Two bottles’ were found near to the body: bottles of what? The family have to try and pretend that they had somehow not noticed his smelly corpse in the basement.
Then – I find this bit hard to believe – the journalist tries to insinuate that the late Richard Asher was not happy about what his children had been up to: ‘It is known that Dr Asher, a controversial figure in medical circles, was not happy about his children’s chosen professions.’ The journo is trying by innuendo to imply that Dr Asher committed suicide, without giving any hint as to the cause of death. (The Express, 3.5.69) That is not ethical journalism.
The body lay ‘undiscovered for a week’ (David Thomas, ‘The Darkness Behind the Smile’, The Telegraph 19.8.04 ). On Saturday 26th April he went missing, then his corpse was discovered a week later. Of course, ‘crime is not suspected’!
Jane and Faul engaged December ‘67 Faul marries Linda March ‘69 Jane’s father found dead April ‘69 Dr Richard Asher had published a paper on hypnotism. He has to have known all about the swap, and if any Tavistock-type programming was involved to ‘make’ the replacement Paul McCartney, he could well have been involved. Then, his adorable, famous daughter gets humiliated and dumped by the new fellow, it is the shock of her life. He is disturbed by this, he feels it is not fair, and is he in danger of speaking to some people about the matter? That he cannot be allowed to do. Ditto for Jane, she has to have an example that will not allow her in her grief ever to talk about what she has been through.
We're not ever told a word about the cause of death.
Paul had composed Eleanor Rigby on the upright piano in Mrs Asher’s music room in the basement of Wimpole Street. Where the songs were made, the body was found.
It had been a happy household.

Great post about Richard Asher's death. An interesting thing about Paul and Peter Asher (Jane's Brother). Peter said in an 2011 interview that he and Paul lived together in the TOP OF THE HOUSE. I always thought it was the basement. Also Peter owned the art gallery where John met Yoko. Anyhow Peter knows a lot about what happened.

Interviews witg Jane: invanddis.proboards.com/thread/2879/jane-interview There's nothing really strange to it.. One of my cousins close family friends had died. Everyone was wondering why they went missing and after a few days somebody went to the house and found the body. I don't know about you but me personally, I wouldn't feel the need to discuss what happened or why it did.

Was your "cousins close family" friends the father of a woman that was engaged to probably the most famous man in the world that happened to live in your house for a while and the broke off the engagement in order to marry someone else? Your right in that people die and then they discover the body at a later time but the circumstances of Richard Asher's death was INCREDIBLE considering how famous Paul was and it should have been investigated but was not because he was almost certainly murdered because he knew to much and was probably going to talk (IMO).

Spooky. The whole Asher family story doesn't add up. Margaret gave George Martin music lessons before he knew the Beatles. Paul was a permanent resident in the house, yet Paul doesn't reference Margaret, as a teacher or mentor, in interviews. I recall one thing I read where he says he had some 'informal' lessons while at the house. The fact that he doesn't talk about her is unusual- most musicians talk about their teachers at every opportunity.
IMO Margaret was a ghost writer or co-ghost writer of some of the Beatles songs. She didn't need to see her name on the songs because her son became a pop star, and her daughter was expected to change her name to Jane McCartney. The wedding got cancelled, Dad dies under unusual circumstances, Jane doesn't talk, her brother doesn't talk. We'll never know the truth.

For comparison, Paul had been very close to the Caldwell family in Liverpool. Alan Caldwell was 'Rory Storm' of The Hurricanes. Alan would bring his musician friends round. Paul would stay up all night munching cheese sandwiches and having cups of tea with Mrs Caldwell. She was a great mother-figure to him after his Mum had died. He dated Iris her daughter for a while, but he still kept coming round after they had broken up. Here is a nice pic, from Mike McCartney The Macs: That's Rory Storm (Alan) on left, with girl, 'Johnny Guitar' centre, Mrs Caldwell, and a blissful-looking Paul in the right-hand corner in the arms of Dot (17 year old Dorothy Rhone).
The point of this story is that both Rory Storm and his mother Mrs Caldwell 'commit suicide' in 1972 together - for no reason. Pills and booze - exactly the same as we were told about Epstein - and was it just a mistake, etc? Well no, I don't think so. Too many people die who were close to Paul, people whose silence could not be bought.

GREAT picture Astro4! I did not realize the Paul had such a close relationship with Rory and his mother! Of course "Ringo" played with the Hurricanes and they were considered maybe the best band in Liverpool and it had been said that Ringo was the best drummer and that is why the Beatles wanted him(even though after he joined the Beatles he was then considered "lousy" by some people). Of course the "Ringo" in the Hurricanes probably was a different person.

I was just reading up on Paul around this time and the picture shows Dot who was Paul's girlfriend for a while. Dot got pregnant and had a miscarriage and Paul ended the relationship but then took up with Iris Caldwell the younger sister of Rory. So a lot more connections to Rory and the Hurricanes than I realized. In the same book I was reading Paul said he saw a picture of Jesus and he said "that looks just like my mother". The book is Paul McCartney by Peter Ames Carlin.

Here is a link to the "Beatle Girls" website that talks about Iris Calwell (she also went out with George when he was TWELVE)! sentstarr.tripod.com/beatgirls/caldwell.htmlMy theory is while the Beatles history was full of fakery and doubles etc. they did not really fake their girlfriends wives etc. because as I say men almost NEVER change the type of woman they go for. In other words to figure out what was really going don't look at the Beatles but look at the WOMAN!

Interesting thought, it does show how different the first wives, or girlfriends compared to the types of the latter day "Featles".

During all of Beatlemania, Paul lived on a top floor room of Jane Asher's house. The room had a piano in it. He basically taught himself how to play. The other room at the top floor was Peter Asher's. Paul became a good piano player, much better than John.

I feel like if we could figure out who staged at least one of the many "suicides" of these Beatles buddies, we could begin to unravel the entire thing. Has Peter ever made any comment? Surely, there must have been gossip after Richard's death -? What became of Margaret? What was George Martin up to between being Margaret's student and producing the Beatles? The number of peripheral "suicides" surrounding the Beatles is just statistically impossible, on its face.

Here is an interesting video that says Rory Storm (and others) faked their death! The Hurricanes sound very good and could have been the "Beatles"! www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1Kts99s8fg

Doesn't the bald guy look too young to be Rory (Alan)? Looks like he could be his son or Iris' son or otherwise related, but he looks 50something instead of 70something.

I agree the bald guy is not Rory Storm! Stuff like this is disinformation! I don't remember MacFake EVER mentioning Rory Storm! It seems the Beatles were in fact REAL friends with the whole family and spent a lot of time with them! So they knew to much just like Richard Asher Mal Evens Brien Epstein etc.!

Do you think it's intentional disinfo or people simply being mistaken?

Paul, replacement or no, did NOT dump Jane. She dumped HIM after coming home early from an acting engagement to find him in bed with future smut writer Francie Swartz. So, because of this, and the timing disparity (Jane dumped Paul publicly on Dee Time TV July 20, 1968; Richard Asher died April 1968) your whole theory falls apart.
