Could he have been disabled in late '66 -- possibly by that rumored car accident, a head injury, or even a nervous breakdown -- only to return three years later to appear in "Let It Be" (and then only to disappear again, but that's another thread for another day)? Because it's not the same man right before that film nor after.

I used to believe this too (and mainly still do) that the "Let it Be" movie had the real Paul and Faul in it. I personally don't trust the recently streamed "Get Back" movie. I think it could be used to deceive and confuse the people. You have probably heard about Faul's newest music video in which Beck's whole face is altered to "look like a young Paul". This showes that it is now not only possible to alter faces in pictures (with photoshop and the likes) but also in videos. I hope someone saved the original "Let It Be" Movie. I couldn't find it on youtube anymore. All I could find was a screenshot from the first scene of the movie and the tune "Paul" plays there in the beginning. I believe that this is the real Paul. He looks sad to me and the tune is sad too. I remember that in that scene Ringo was sitting next to him not looking very cheerful either. I am a believer of the nervous breakdown theory.

It's on archive.org I too believe that both Paul's are in it. The sad parts are Paul while the "fun" and angry parts are Faul. Faul had a tight grip on the Beatles.
