Some more quotes from Illusions: www.barefootsworld.net/illusions.htmlI read that book when I was in High School back in the late 70's. Bach was probably the first exposure for many in the western world anyway to ideas like this. Anyone read the book and try cloud busting? I did.. You're supposed to "remove them from your mind", now that ain't so easy!

www.fosters.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20081014/GJNEWS_01/710149767 The Republican vice presidential nominee is expected to take the stage around 11 a.m., with the program beginning at 10:15 a.m. Doors open at 9 a.m., and tickets — which are being distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis — are required.
The campaign says tickets do not guarantee entry to the event, which will be held in the high school gym at 25 Alumni Drive.
The nearest ticket location is....So let me see.. I have to travel in the opposite direction for an annoying distance for tickets that may not guarantee admission! Plus it kills half the day, and I'd have to take all that time off from work. Wow, what an attractive offer!

Thanks for the info on Here We Go Again. I noticed one of the (many) tags for your version is "Klaatu", and yeah.. It is Klaatuesque. IllusionsThere is no such thing as a problem without a gift for you in its hands. You seek problems because you need their gifts. I agree that it's a world of illusion, it's the only thing perhaps that explains how crazy it is. Illusion or not, we all agree by consensus that it's "real", and have our own reasons for being here, but chiefly to learn and to have fun. (not necessarily in that order) I think we let the problems pile up alarmingly high of late, which means we are due for a real big Christmas soon, heh.

The real one is coming to Dover on Wednesday, but I have not been invited. I wanted to see her in person, see if I could score a wink and all.. Oh well.

Love "222", or "322" as it's stated there. (it grew on me, like most Macca stuff does)

Yes it's a bank holiday, but not a stock market one, which makes Columbus day unique I believe.

Karl Denniger was interviewed on radio call in show in Arizona last night. He should be invited to C2CAM if they have any sense, anyway..
He made an interesting point: For goods to shipped from overseas, for example China, a letter of credit has to be sent from the buyer's bank guaranteeing payment. He says that those letters are not being honored in increasing frequency, which means those containers of DVD players and Ipods are going to sit in a container in China.. In a few weeks you could find your Wal-Mart with nothing to sell.
It's a credit crisis..

Yeah.. the strange behavior is the more important issue, not the IAAP one.. People told the Beatles things.. And still do, you can count on that! You could interpret his refusal of any submissions after this date to either mean it's the old "act now" hard sell to promote more submissions or... After the 20th it won't be possible for more serious reasons.

Well as long as the subject came up.. I wrote this comment on Taf's blog: Tried my hand at isolating the quiet parts and boosting them. I put three together, with the first and third from 13 and 41 seconds, respectively. I lost track of where the second is from, probably 26. I guess what is most interesting, at least to me, is that 13 and 41 are just about identical, if not exactly so.. Wonder why? www.jojoplace.org/Shoebox/Ringo_Statement_Cropped.wavReally need headphones for something like this. I don't know for sure myself.. I will say I agree Ringo's message and his delivery of same was a bit strange. media.ringostarr.com/video//2008-10-10/2008-10-10.mov(Quicktime plugin required)

Naomi Wolf: "A coup has taken place." A gutsy lady. Wow, The webbots guys were on Jeff Rense last night, and they said something to the effect that her videos will go VERY viral in the coming crisis months, to the point that all viral videos will be judged on hers. (sorry IAAP) Also something like she won't be preaching revolution so much as "reconstitution". (for lack of a better word)

JoJo, is there any way for us to choose, say....the 10 or 20 most important threads, and keep them permanently bumped, or give them their own category, or something? Am I being clear? I know what you mean, something along the lines of the "Essential" board at TKIN. Only down side to that is that threads moved to a new board lose their "home", e.g. a thread that really belongs under "Clues" loses that context. How about this, and this is something in which everyone can participate, I'll start a thread where everyone posts their favorites. Then, I'll maintain another thread that's locked to replies with a list, and pinned in the "general" board. Hmm?

Our senators know how we feel, they just chose to ignore it. (for our own good of course) At least my rep stuck to her guns and voted NAY the second go-round.. I sent her a thank you note. From the Market Ticker blog, the aptly named Thanks Jackoffs.

On the day before "9/11", the Pentagon - more precisely Rumsfeld, announced that they had misplaced 3.2 Trillion somalians samolians. How comes there wasn't all this hullabaloo? A rhetorical question?
