Yeah we know that's what you're trying to say, but what specifically? The front or back? I'm trying to understand, but it's a bit difficult. I'll scan the back so we can all look, but I would hope you have made a comparison between the two such that you know that your claim is a fact. I'll make an honest effort to examine my poster and compare with yours, I hope you'll do likewise...

the link he gave shows a couple of pics that were doctored in America, one shows the naked Paul and the other is a drawing of John and Yoko

That was a link, ok. That kind of censorship, european vs american standards of what's appropriate is hardly surprising. (especially back then) But I'm wondering or asking if there's something there that was a clue that was omitted in the american version. That is not unprecedented, look at the run on groove after "A Day in the Life". Not on my vintage american release, I know that.

WHITE ALBUM POSTER REARAt the bottom you can read: "Printed and made in Great Britain by Garrod and Lofthouse International Ltd."Have you the same written in your copy? This reminds me the final titles of MMT:

If you pay attention it seems that John's photos are always on Bill's ones.

Something weird in the poster, middle right, where Ringo is playing drums. That blue splotch between the cymbols and the drum sticks close up looks like this: Scary looking at least, or it's random junk (standard disclaimer)

Just wondering, with all the talk about this picture for such a long time, I never heard anyone mention that the "official" story is that this is indeed Paul in disguise. It was someone acting as a spokesman from the Beatles on a radio show in the 60's that dismissed this as Paul goofing around wearing glasses and a mustache. It's on the 8 cd set "Paul Is Dead, Miss Him, etc.", where I heard this. I can get more details, and the sound file, but I'm wondering if anyone thought this was a very much alive James Paul, or does this surprise you that you are supposed to believe this was him? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I don't remember anyone, with all the endless discussion, (just searching my memory) saying that this was just a recent picture of James Paul, nothing more... Thanks in advance for clearing this up.

I guess my copy of the white album was imported because my poster has the same pics on it as the European version supposedly does. The pubic hair is seen on both pics, the photo of Paul and the drawing of John and Yoko (Both versions have that myserious white band running vertically dead over Paul's groin, so you could say it was therefor censored everywhere for that matter). Oddly, mine has the same Printed In USA stamp on the back which JoJo has displayed. Maybe the fact that I didn't purchase my own copy of the white album until the early to mid 70's has something to do with it? I wore my little sister's copy of the white album out when I was still living at home ;D

The man is Otis Redding who died in a plane crash on December 10, 1967. Redding was flying in his private plane, a twin-engine Beechcraft when it crashed into Lake Monona, in Madison, Wisconsin. Image gallery: www.otisredding.com/imagegallery/index.htmlFrom Redding's biography from http://www.otisredding.com: www.otisredding.com/biography/index.htmlThe Song -- It was unlike anything he had ever written., influenced by Redding's admiration for the Beatles' classic " Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" album. Otis played The Beatles' album constantly during a week he had spent on a houseboat in Sausalito when performing at San Francisco's Fillmore West Theater in the summer of 1967. Just sittin' on the dock, looking out at the bay, it's easy to see where Otis got the inspiration for the song, "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay".(SITTIN' ON) THE DOCK OF THE BAY Sittin' in the mornin' sun I'll be sittin' when the evenin' come Watching the ships roll in And then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay Watching the tide roll away Ooo, I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay Wastin' time I left my home in Georgia Headed for the 'Frisco bay 'Cause I've had nothing to live for And look like nothin's gonna come my way So I'm just gonna sit on the dock of the bay Watching the tide roll away Ooo, I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay Wastin' time Look like nothing's gonna change Everything still remains the same I can't do what ten people tell me to do So I guess I'll remain the same, yes Sittin' here resting my bones And this loneliness won't leave me alone It's two thousand miles I roamed Just to make this dock my home Now, I'm just gonna sit at the dock of the bay Watching the tide roll away Oooo-wee, sittin' on the dock of the bay Wastin' time

JGD - are you sure?
It's hard for me to make out the man's fetures with that bright light in his face.

Interesting that they have a picture of someone who died at the age of 26 years 3 months and one day. (born 9-9-1941) Paul was born on 6-18-1942, so if you take some date after around mid sept 1966, it's almost or maybe exactly 24 years 3 months, or close to it... Ok, that's a stretch, but at the very least they have a picture of someone who died way too young in a crash, only in an airplane. (assuming it's Otis Redding)

It doesn't look like Otis Redding to me. This man looks too small to be Otis(look at him next to Ringo) and not enough hair. Plus I think Otis wore a mustche later on in his career. Still it could possibly be him because the picture is somewhat hard to make out. www.otisredding.com/imagegallery/index.html

Who is/was Hamilton?
I tend to think this was largely a Lennon effort, despite faux-Paul's claims 20 yrs after Lennon's death.

This design was sold in the London collector's shop Rock On in 1973 as one of the original designs for what became the 'White Album'. If you'll look, it features the Beatles in Mount Rushmore style. Behind Ringo's head is a lighthaired female (Sylvie or Jane?) with a seahorse between them and an imp in Ringo's hair. Between Ringo and Faul is an image which I can't really make out? Faul, John, and George--there's what looks like a caterpiller or some type of serpent crawling up George's cheek. Then there's the lighthouse atop the cliff, the seagull, the ship sailing between ice-bergs (or islands), and the beach. Richard Hamilton was a British pop artist. Wikpedia bio

Between Ringo and Faul is an image which I can't really make out--a person sitting and looking up from a bottom of a cliff? It looks a mangled version of JPM's face.... sorta like the pic in the Free As A Bird video.
