Ok, here's the deal: I get bandwidth at my ISP on a per month allotment, and I seem to have a lot to spare, so... I figured why not. I downsized the bitrate quite a bit, but it's mostly spoken word, so you'll be able to hear it ok. This is essentially a long compilation of all the radio chatter that was going on when the PID rumor first "hit the streets". It's pretty cool, you feel like you are there as it unfolds! One volume is missing a track one, somehow I didn't manage to grab that one.. These will come down at the end of the month, so don't delay if you're interested! Click on the link, the files are there, just right-click save, or option click if on a Mac. www.jojoplace.org/Shoebox/PID_MissHim/

It's really long.... but this is a good listen. I need to go back & do it again.... & maybe take a few notes this time. To me, the more boring parts are the interviews with Derek Taylor, Neil A., & Mike McGear, but at the same time, they tend to damage their own case against PID when EVERYBODY denies EVERYTHING. Supposedly every single clue... both visual audio, is either an accident or coincidence.........
Oh... OK... Ya RIGHT!

I mentioned this before, but that mustache and glasses pic on the WA poster is confirmed as Paul by someone. Before there was a rapid conclusion on the part of many that it was Bill from many years back, no one seemed to realize that the "official" story is that it's Paul in the first place. Also, a confirmation that the flowers are indeed a grave in the Pepper photo.

Wow! Thank you for this! I am currently trying to get them all, but being on 56k means that each file takes 2 hours to download. Patience is its own reward though

The Lennon interview in the first set is interesting. He couldn't have been more adamant that Paul was not dead.
That was the standard argument they all used: Of course he's alive, I just talked to him yesterday! They all carefully avoided mentioning the possibility of his being replaced with a look-alike!
This allowed them to honestly maintain that Paul is quite alive. They just neglected to clarify which Paul they were talking about.
This does raise the question though: how could Lennon and the other Beatles convincingly lie about Paul's replacement - were they in fear or denial? Is brainwashing or hypnotic suggestion a possibility?

This allowed them to honestly maintain that Paul is quite alive. They just neglected to clarify which Paul they were talking about. Ya... a slick manuever that worked quite well.! And as "Paul" sez...."I'm not dead. I'm alive & living in Scottland" Uhhh, ya sure, HE is, but what about James Paul? What really gets me about this is the fact that everybody's combing over every record & speculating over all the possibilities of all the clues. There's all this airtime devoted to audio & album cover clues, yet nobody stops & compares pictures. Nobody sez... Hey, ya know, Paul just doesn't look the same..... These pictures seem to show 2 different people! There's even one point where a dj is talking about the Sgt.P cover & sez something about... And look on the back cover & you see a MUCH TALLER McCartney being the only one with his back to the camera. But still no mention of....Hey, MCCartney wasn't that tall, was he?? Paul apparently had a mid-20's growth-spurt! It's just amazin' to me how everybody overlooked the obvious & concentrated solely on the frivolous. They all still had their old Beatle Teen mags at home.

Yes! If they had only pursued that line of questioning, it would have taken off. Instead, it's all about the issue that has less information available, whether Paul is dead or not. The radio folks seem to steer the discussion in that direction, clearly avoiding "was Paul replaced?" I would have asked John point blank, is the man now calling himself Paul McCartney a replacement, not "is Paul dead?'

another suggestion for bandwidth boost is the Lennon/Ono interview. Instead of being mostly incomprehensible, Ono at 8 bits is totally incomprehensible!

Also, JoJo - and thanks ever so much for making this available -- but track 1 on vol 3 disc 1 (Mike McCartney on Mike Doublas show) is missing.
Actually - though you labeled that as V3D1, it's actually V3D2 missing the Mike McCartney track.

Yeah, sorry about that, but that Mike Douglas interview was missing from the post when i downloaded it off usenet, and I haven't seen a repost yet. Refresh my memory about which track that Lennon Yoko interview is, and i'll take care of it..

JoJo - I don't know if I can tell you. I think I renamed that file, and I forgot to download all the outer back labels with the track listings.
I'll try to check my other computer (with the sound files) and figure it out.

Never mind, i found it. 64 bit mono, equal to 128 bit stereo, which should be enough. For one, Yoko is still somewhat unintelligible, and for two, it doesn't sound like she has anything useful to contribute... www.jojoplace.org/Shoebox/Lennonmisshiminterview.mp3

JoJo - I don't know if I can tell you. I think I renamed that file, and I forgot to download all the outer back labels with the track listings. I FINALLY got around to printing out all the covers for this set. It's much better havin' a jewel case with track listings in my hand. That'll help lots in organizin' all this stuff in my head. Somebody did a nice job on these covers etc. I was playin' some of this earlier.... disc 6 I think(?) & found a possible source for the silly story of John actin' all crazy at the accident scene shouting "No, I am the walrus, I am the walrus!!" One radio show was playin' samples of current releases getting on the PID bandwagon & played a snippett of a National Lampoon album from 72 where somebody impersonating John is shouting that exact phrase. TOO FUNNY!

I don't find this too unplausible. What is your prefered etymology?

silly story of John actin' all crazy at the accident scene shouting "No, I am the walrus, I am the walrus!!" I don't find this too unplausible. What is your prefered etymology? True.... concidering that plausible isn't a stretch. But with this big ol' mystery lots of things are plausible. The whole PID thing isn't plausible at all to a large majority of folks out there. But anyway... it seems to me that it would be rather strange for John to be hollerin' stuff about "the walrus" immediatly after learning of JPM's death. At that point in time, I would think that he could care less about who-the-hell the walrus was. It seems a lot more plausible that this particular tidbit made it's way into the whole 60IF story via somebody's old National Lampoon album.

(Stranger things have happened, of course, but I don't have much confidence in that version of the scenario. )

it would be rather strange for John to be hollerin' stuff about "the walrus" immediatly after learning of JPM's death.
The idea is that it was not upon learning of the death per se, but rather at the scene of death, after someone else compared the corpse to a walrus. After all, there is reason to think something toothy was going on with Paul (cf. "Death Cab" crooner, Revolution #9) which may bring to mond a Walrus' tusks.
It seems a lot more plausible that this particular tidbit made it's way into the whole 60IF story via somebody's old National Lampoon album
I'm less interested in how it made it into either of those accounts than how it made it into Lennon's "I am the Walrus."
Anyway, which track is this Lampoon sketch in? I didn't label mine and lost the graphic files with the listings.

Ya XPT, much stranger things have happened. But I just couldn't help but laugh when I heard that part. ...."So THAT'S where that came from!"
I'm not exactly sure where it is... I was busy with chores & stuff at the time, but I'll go back & see what track that is this evening. It's really short..... so I could even just post that little snippett for download.
If you'd like, I could post the front & back covers for ya.

Okie dokie... I got these graphics posted, but my margarita-head sez I'm done for the evenin'. So I'll try to find the National Lampoon snippett tomorrow. Besides.... it's sunset... time to go sit on the front porch & crank the stereo & have a smoke. Here's the extra art that goes inside the double jewel cases There's another general summary that probably goes inside the cover of disc one, but that'll also be tomorrow.
