The Doors # The Severed Garden # Organ Cover ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jim Morrison - Severed garden www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jU13T4ciC8 ------ Stéphane Michot Nov 1, 2016 Letter B's recent post with the writing of William Burroughs got me thinking about Burroughs AND Michael McClure. In relation to the Severed Garden video posted above. Frankly, the only way The Severed Garden makes any sense to me is to consider it being written from a nom de plume standpoint. An older writer expressing how he will lay his dashing young nom de plume to rest, with a severed head depicting his likeliness over his grave. A final warning to all those who may choose the road to excess. He will be laid to rest in the Severed Garden of Pere Lachaise. Wilde is already there. How fitting. So our Jim Morrison spoke the words you hear in the video, before he went to the Severed Garden, the remaining Doors putting music to it years later. Burroughs said of Morrison, "Jim Morrison - it's a strange story - that he drowned in a bathtub in Paris. It seems an awful thing to happen. I never believed it for a minute". Also, if I consider Jim being a nom de plume, all of the words about choosing faces from an ancient gallery make sense. The face chosen for Jim was Alexander the Great? The bust on the Morrison grave - the predicted severed head in the severed garden - resembled Alexander the Great. The point of a nom de plume to make your message relatable to a new generation. Fake identities and fake biographies are a factor in all this. I'm sure of it now. Hmm... Going off on another tangent here but bear with me. Both Burroughs and McClure (as well as other possible writers that I haven't stumbled onto yet - Kurt Vonnegut, Ginsberg, Salinger?), would have been old enough to have created younger rock and roll counterparts of themselves. Nom de Plumes designed to provide a platform for their messages. Morrison even openly stated he was using rock as a platform for his words. I see a very distinct link between the public personas, writings, and general personalities of Jim Morrison, John Lennon, and Harry Nilsson. Perhaps these personalities were linked, rolled out one after another. First Lennon (and by extension the writings of Yoko Ono), then Morrison, then Nilsson. Jim Morrison said, "Put your ear down to the ground". That is exactly what we see Ono and Lennon do in the "Nobody Told Me" video. They then echo back to Morrison "Strange Days indeed". Both McClure and Burroughs were still around at the time. And a year following McClure's death, "The Collected Works of Jim Morrison" was published. Why then, at that particular time? The coded linking of birth/death dates of Morrison/Lennon, suggesting the Lonely Hearts connection between the two identities. Linus pointed this out years ago. Another hmm... The concept of the nom de plume with relation to William Shakespeare, his writings actually having been created by a member of the elite, has been discussed on this board before. We know these things have happened. So, am I totally off-base thinking that writers could have created rock stars? If so, the members of the elite seem to be doing a little truth dropping about secret societies in some of this writing. Just as Shakespeare seemed to do in some of his writing. Clearly, he told stories of entanglements among the elite. Or are all these young rock stars just geniuses and prodigies as we've been told? Nothing to see here. Move on. Letter B, I've seen the concept of ghost writers discussed on this board before. I don't think I've seen anyone take this notion quite as far as I am. But there's so much here, I could have missed something. All I know is that at this point, I see a business plan that had a much wider scope than I originally thought. Thar's danger down them thar rabbit holes. I find that I am not liking what I see, and I can't help my mind making connections I really don't want to make. And that's why I put up the stupid Minions videos. Sometimes you gotta laugh to keep from crying. Or getting sick. 🤢 Those of you who have seen my evolution of thought over the last year can see I've come a long way to get to the lousy point I'm at now. And, finally, "They are waiting to take us into the Severed Garden". Just a guess, but a place where retired nom de plumes are laid to rest? "I will not go, prefer a feast of friends to the giant family". So, the writer is among the elite?

I think I finally get these scenes from Eddie and the Cruisers. First the "word man" scene. It was time for beat poets to put words in the mouths of rock stars. No more Betty Lou Gotta new Pair of Shoes. We are going On the Dark Side. We need a word man. Eddie Wilson said "Words and Music, Words and Music". There is something here about trying on shoes. Betty Lou tried on a 12, but that wouldn't do. Frank, who represents the elitę, the only person present with a higher education, has them try on his shoes. The shoe of the elite fits. After that, we have ascended to an outdoor decking, singing beat poetry. Getting Hi Hi Hi in the midday sun. Yep, the roof top concert.

Why, in this February 1964 interview, does Ringo say "Tomorrow Never Knows"? When he does, all Beatles seems to get a big kick out of it. But that song wasn't recorded until 1966. Supposedly inspired by the 1964 book "The Psychedelic Experience: A manual based on the Tibetan Book of the Dead". But that book wasn't even published when Ringo said this in February 1964. The book wasn't published until August 1964. Looks like they KNEW another phase was coming. The Nihilists, the word men, were to enter Beatles music in earnest by the time of the Revolver album. "Word and music, words and music", said our fictional character, Eddie Wilson. I pretty much think there were a lot of fictional characters around in rock and roll, what's one more? I also think the Monkees did a bargain basement version of "Tomorrow Never Knows". Called Daily Nightly. Looks like I see Nihilists putting their words into the mouths of handsome young Monkees, here. But then, in the case of Monkees, it was done openly. Like Apostles or Disciples, The Monkees only speak the words. They were given to them, from above.......Annnd, that's what I see at this point. Facing the music is a pretty dismal experience.
I don't expect these recent posts of mine to be popular with anyone. But after a year here, I'm gonna start calling it like I see it. Just 6 months ago, I myself would have been offended by the direction of my thoughts today, right now. People have asked over the years, was this rock star a sacrifice, was that one a sacrifice? Frankly, I think that the public was the sacrifice. We were the ones tied to the Whipping Post. Run down and lied to. "i'm Black and Blue from the Rolling Stones, and I love it". Well, if she enjoyed being beaten by the beats (poets, that is), that's her business, I guess.

in a toadily unrelated note.... ------ ------ The kitten's eyes were open, but they might just as well have been closed. Eyes open, programmed to receive. Reminds me of myself, till lately. Kittens are feisty. They might just go their own way. 😂 Gotta be a reason it was "Paul and Linda's song". Well someone is leaving for the coast, here. Just like the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost from American Pie. Whiter Shade of Pale is one of my favorites. Had it downloaded on my phone for years. But I wandered through my playing cards, and would not LETTER B. 😂

"I will not go, prefer a feast of friends to the giant family". So, the writer is among the elite? Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song sung by "the one and only Billy Sh ears" RINGO STARR aka the ring-o star Saturn When William Shakespeare came out to take a bow after a play of his had been performed, it was understood (among the sophisticated) that this person was "a ringer" for a group of writers who had actually put it together. Ringo plays the same role on the Sgt Pepper album. He is introduced as "Billy Shears", a BS artist taking credit when, in fact, he "got by with a little help from my friends". Implicitly, Billy Shears / William Shakespeare sees events on earth from a higher perch than most of humanity, and has no fear of portraying the behavior of the powers-that-be in his plays - or songs, as the case may be. "Nobody else is in my tree" says the 'paperback writer'. William / Billy has no fear of the powers-that-be on earth. Ringo is Billy Shears, but so are Sir Paul, and John in the tree. "I am he, as you are he as you are me and we are all together". But the one who "sees everything" and writes plays/songs accordingly, is more highly aware (cosmicly conscious) than we are, even if we are a part of him/her.
