But then, in light of the whole Severed Garden trip I went on last month, I started thinking about this video again. Because, to me, the Severed Garden seems to predict imminent, planned death. Also, something PrivyPrincess posited about memories being wiped when these people reach the end of their usefulness. This guy recounts a conversation he had with an acquaintance. This acquaintance thinks Jim Morrison was driving a cab around the turn of the century, in a Houston suburb. The man who encountered this curious cab driver says the driver engaged him in deep conversation about major rock stars, but clammed up on the subject of the Doors, and Jim Morrison in particular. At the time it occurred to me, hmmm... the cab driver wouldn't talk, or couldn't physically remember Jim Morrison? And if he couldn't remember, why? He remembered everybody else. I dunno. The story just had the ring of POSSIBLE truth. Instead of utter BS. Cause I'm thinkin', menial work? Sounds like witness protection to me.

Shivaree Show Aug 21 '65 whole show pt1 Preachers, Guilloteens, Vic Dana, Joe & Eddie, Dodi Marshall -------------------------------------- pt2 ------ Cucamonga Sewing Circle Jan 4, 2023 "Shivaree was a Los Angeles-based music variety show that ran in syndication from 1965 to 1966. It was created and hosted by KFWB-AM personality Gene Weed, LA's top nighttime DJ at the time, and who in later years became a producer for Dick Clark Productions.
In its brief run, the show featured numerous well-known acts, including The Mamas & the Papas, The Supremes, The Rolling Stones, Jackie Wilson, Marvin Gaye, Ronnie Dove, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, The Ronettes, Cher, Simon and Garfunkel, The Byrds, The Toys, The Bobby Fuller Four, Allan Sherman, Lesley Gore, and Gary Lewis & the Playboys, and was taped at KABC-TV's studios in LA. It began in syndication in April 1965 and ran through May 1966 in more than 150 markets in the U.S. and seven countries internationally. Although it was a syndicated series, Shivaree was produced and owned by the ABC network.
In addition to the host, the show also featured dancers (go-go girls), including Teri Garr, Cathy Austin, Joane Sannes, and Kay Parks, who danced on elevated platforms behind the bandstand while guest artists performed. Audience members surrounded the bandstand and also stood on a balcony behind the dancers.
Rights to surviving footage of the show (which was produced in black-and-white) are now owned by Research Video."

Never was a fan of Bachman Turner Overdrive, but this video is absolutely fascinating! Song Sat for Years...Pizza Guy Played Piano On It As a Joke-Became a 70s Classic | Professor of Rockwww.youtube.com/watch?v=zt0VzDIbxT8Professor of Rock Jan 7, 2023 "....an interview with legend Randy Bachman, a co-founding member of both Bachman Turner Overdrive (BTO) and The Guess Who on his classic rock standard Takin’ Care of Business TCB that sat unfinished for years, because The Guess Who thought it sounded too similar to the Beatles Paperback Writer... Then one day he got an idea from a random saying he heard on a radio show and the chorus was finished, but it was still missing something musically until a pizza delivery guy walked in and offered to play piano on the track which was the missing piece… When he played the demo for a record exec, he flipped out… He wanted him to release it asap… Now Randy just needed to track down the pizza guy to sign a release… Which proved too tough. He had to call every pizza place to try and track him down… Elvis also picked up on the song and made it his mantra. Which brought it full circle since Elvis was the reason Randy got into music as a kid... "

Here's what we heard. (Still sounds good to me! ) On our little AM transistor radios. Iron Butterfly - In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida - 45 RPM VERY Short Version Original Mono Mix ---------------------------- The Doors - Light My Fire - 45 RPM - ORIGINAL MONO MIX - First Pressingwww.youtube.com/watch?v=6FfiC5YvgIs ------ WABCRADIO77 Aug 28, 2012 The record companies kindofspedthingsup to fit the songs onto 45 rpm records, which gave them a touch of extra energy! Cutting the songs in half so that they would fit on the A and B sides of the record didn't really work, though it was tried. 1968 HITS ARCHIVE: Sky Pilot (Part 1) - Eric Burdon & The Animals (stereo 45) -------------------------------------- Eric Burdon & The Animals - Sky Pilot (Pt. 2) (1968)www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQNkAly5Nnk ------ AnotherProf Mar 6, 2021 The DJs would play the first part and then not follow through with the second. In this instance, the whole message was lost.

Say what? You know. "There's a bad moon on the rise". To the ear, sounds like "There a bathroom on the right". Everybody know that! 😎 Anyway, back to Graceland with me. Looking over some old posts, plus the two SS numbers issued for E that Kaleidoquake posted has me thinkin'. Even found some very old posts here questioning Lisa Marie's identity. So, right now Elvis is Always on my Mind. Looking over these family shots. Huh.....Cilla Baby changes a lot. So, let's see. "Lights Out", recorded 20 years before Lisa Marie's death. She's talking about the Presley Severed Garden. Seems to note a spot there for her. "Someone turned the lights out there in Memphis". Memphis. What IS IT with that city? The south's favorite son has to Grace the Lands of Tennessee. Moving on...Lisa Marie says "Last time I was there I noticed a space left, Oh next to them there in Memphis, yeah in the damn back lawn". "Oh, but don't worry baby, everything will turn out alright", Brian says in my ear. Elvis? Why he's nothing like the GOAT Band, not like the Doors. No reason for concern here.

Neil Young on Meeting Joni Mitchell For The First Time ------------------------------------------------------------------- Neil Young Celebrated 77th Birthday With Joni Mitchellwww.youtube.com/watch?v=HadPgifDy3U ------ Zach Sang Show Clips Nov 19, 2022 in the comments: "Neil’s so great. Chick Roberts who Neil mentions is my father! He’s still around, 90 years old. Confirms Neils story. Great memory Neil, thank you for appreciating my fathers support of your song Sugar Mountain, he was knocked out by your song. My Dad heard Neil play it at The Riverboat in Toronto at a 1965 “Hotennany” night. Artists got $10 to play three or four songs known as "Hotennany scale". The gigs were put on by the guild of Canadian Folk Artists in Toronto’s “Yorkville Village” (our 60’s folk scene, Canada’s Greenwich Village). Neil wasn't known then in Toronto, he was hanging in the village trying to break in as solo act. Neil likely met Chick/The Dirty Shames in Winnipeg at the Fourth Dimension. Toronto’s The Dirty Shames in 1966 signed with Albert Grossman’s office in New York City, recorded a few singles, Warhol booked them to open for the Velvet Underground at the Dom.
