Well, I hasten to add I know full well it really doesn't/wouldn't work here, but I enjoy indulging when I can. GLP can't hold a candle to the now defunct old David Icke forum that was the embodiment of total madness and mayhem, as it had one lone admin who pretty much was hands off. However, much good information made its way into the mix, and if I could, I would buy the domain and re-open it with the same management style.

Some time ago, Taf's writings branched off from being strictly about IAAP, so even if you are not partial to that topic, you will surely find something of interest. (I know I do) Yes, the main page of NIR has a link to his blog, I put it there a few weeks ago..
The comments section is total anarchy.. I love it! ;D

You should do whatever you want to do.. And while one can only speculate, it seems unlikely to walk in to the public records office, open a book to a page in late 1966 and expect to see a "Paul McCartney died (on such and such a date)". If it were that cut and dried, there wouldn't be any need for several discussion boards, blogs, hundreds of IAAP videos, etc.

Why yes I am! ;D
LB does have a real good idea, a great way of cutting to the chase for ruling out the software issue. Now, does it sound like the drive is spinning and trying to read the information, or is it acting dead in the water? The tray may open and close, but the drive may still have other problems. (although it rules out it not getting power)
I had a cd drive act weird on me once, and just for the heck of it I unplugged the ribbon from the drive to the motherboard (both AT the motherboard and the drive itself) and plugged them back in, and for some reason it fixed the problem. Maybe a connection was loose and getting re-connected helped. If you want to try this, first unplug the power (after shutting down) and then gently wiggle the ribbon loose from the drive, follow it down to where it joins the MB, and do the same there, and then plug them back in at both places. I forgot, you will have to take a side panel off the computer, probably just a couple of screws.. Anyway, if this doesn't help, and neither does the reset to a previous state then.. You've just taught yourself part of the process for re-installing a new drive.. Which may be the only option.

There's "Ask Paul", so it's a good time to bring up "Ask John" again. Well, it's a computer program, but spookily responsive.. (less "I don't know" responses than the other guy's..) triumphpc.com/johnlennon/index.shtmlMe: Where are your ashes?AIJL: I don't know, so watch where you step.hehe ;D

The pictures don't show up.. You need to download them and host them yourself, or use the "upload an image" function. Probably the site doesn't allow hot-linking, and yes I know they show up OK for you.. They are still in your browser cache.

Thanks Faulcon for the synopsis, and glad you got the video to work. Anyone with a familiarity of the story can get the general idea of the plot without speaking German, but you miss the little details, such as the bit about the musician with the big nose.

On a related note, Baird Jones passed away a few months ago.. Wonder what happened to that amazing art collection? www.nydailynews.com/gossip/2008/02/22/2008-02-22_gossip_guru_baird_jones_dead_at_53.htmlGossip guru Baird Jones dead at 53

Baird Jones
Gossip reporter, celebrity art collector and club promoter extraordinaire Baird Jones died in his Greenwich Village apartment Thursday night.
He was 53.
The cause of death was not immediately known, but police said there were no signs of foul play and no drugs in the apartment.
A friend of his told the Daily News that Jones, the son of People magazine co-founder Cranston Jones, recently complained about being "sick as a dog."
In 1995, while covering Arthur Miller's 80th birthday for The News, Baird Jones asked the playwright about the most intimate details of his relationship with Marilyn Monroe. Miller, fists clenched, chased him out of the party.
After graduating from the Buckley School and Columbia University and earning several advanced degrees, Jones became one of the city's first club promoters, working the door at Studio 54 in its prime. Most recently, he was a curator at Webster Hall.

There is subtitling software.. that would be a LOT of work tho.. It would be cool if you watched it and just gave your impressions. Check the "Audio/video" thread at Members Only.
Edit: I am rather curious about the dialog he has with himself (cut so he looks like he is talking with his twin) near the end of the movie.. If you download it..

Taf mentioned in a comment on his blog that he would like to see Goranson go into the Alice/Beatles material in more detail.. So would I of course. I dug out some emails I exchanged with him about two and half years ago, and he mentioned wanting to get into it again. But, guess he is busy with other matters like this: www.atpm.com/Back/atpo.shtmlwww.sirius-beta.com/He may have been a little ahead of time, as the response he received to his ideas ten years ago on Usenet was probably a lot to take.. the replies were almost all negative and dismissive. I don't think that would stop him necessarily, but it couldn't have helped encourage either.

Better that than that he choked to death on a salty chocolate ball. I'm gonna make love to you *children*. i'm gonna lay you down by the fire chef, chef, are you alright? The "Matt and Trey's revenge" episode, run after Hayes quit over the Scientology business. (they cut and pasted dialog to make Chef a pedophile.. Ouch!)

He had recently completed the movie "Soul Men," in which he played himself; the film also starred Samuel Jackson and Bernie Mac, who died on Saturday after a bout with pneumonia.

That birth certificate with John Charles was from St. Mary's hospital. I'm assuming he means the one in Liverpool.. Not including the last name is all mysterious and everything, but is it supposed to be anyone we know?

Hmm.. I can't figure out whether Bush/Cheney will take a shot at Iran while they still have a chance, or the constant drumbeat is just fake fear mongering on the part of the MSM and shill posters on various message boards. Since our govt. doesn't have a pot to piss in, and Russia will defend their interests there, (btw, Russia DOES have weapons of mass destruction) I suspect the latter is the case.
You are right in that Obama's presidency is a foregone conclusion.. Seems like McCain is doing everything possible to throw the fight..

I've been working my way through 'Duma Key' (his latest) the past few days, and you know how it is.. the final third is where the pace picks up.. can't put it down. Never outgrew him myself. Just me probably, but I love a phrase like this: God punishes us for what we can't imagine.

blogs.suntimes.com/hoekstra/2008/08/paul_mccartney_route_66_songs.html
2:05 p.m. Aug. 8---- I have some road tune ideas for Paul McCartney's home stretch down Route 66. But first here's an interesting comment from roadie Carolyn Hasenfratz, who writes: "On the McCartney Years DVD set, in the commentary section, Sir Paul said that his song "Helen Wheels" was intended to be a British version of Route 66. The tune is nothing like it, but the lyrics mention place names in England like Route 66 mentions place names in America. Maybe he's been thinking about doing this for a long time. "Helen Wheels" is from 1973. To read lyrics to "Helen Wheels: go to:
www.metrolyrics.com/helen-wheels-lyrics-paul-mccartney.html
"Helen Wheels" was the name he called his Land Rover, according to legend.www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0r9uNhQZKQ

Proboards got on board with this, so that's why there are two different clickable Youtube buttons. Either one seems to work fine.
