George Harrison's Rolling Stone Interview:
What was your relationship with John during that period when he was living in New York? I didn't often go to New York, but when i was in New York, I'd goo see him, and he was nice. He was always enthusiastic. That period where he was cooking bread and stuff. I always got an overpowering feeling from him. Almost a feeling that he wanted to say much more than he could, or than he did. You could see it in his eyes. But it was difficult. In what way? Well, you'd read all these stories - and they'd keep coming all the time - about how the beatles didn't mean a thing. That he was the only one who had a clue about everything - and the wife. There was a definite strained relationship right from the White Album. There was alot of alienation between us and him. It was particularly strained because having been in a band from being kids, then suddenly we're all grown up and we've got these other wives. That didn't exactly help. All the wives at that time really drove wedges between us. And then, after the years, when i saw John in New York, it was like he was crying out to tell me certain things or to renew things, relationships, but he wasn't able to, because of the situation he was in.
When i read that.. my first thought was: my god.. what did Bloko have over John?

please don't hate me, but gad damn it, i can't help but like bill. I mean.. he did give up his life to be Paul, that has to mean something. I genuinely feel that he cared for the other Beatles and they cared about him. I know he has done some stupid stuff... but he's done alot of good too. I can't even imagine what his life must be like.. i feel sorry for him really. Money and fame doesn't amount to shit. It must've been really hard to fill Paul's shoes... not a job i'd wish on my worst enemy. Poor John, George and Ringo... especially John, i am for certain that his spirit died when Paul did. Imagine losing someone that close to you, and then have someone that looked like him pretending to be him, It must've ripped them apart to be able to see him, but knowing it's not him... to have something so dear to you.. yet so out of reach! It's almost teasing. I don't envy any of them

It's really quite funny.. but it's amazing how many people actually see something isn't quite right with Paul without even thinking about PID.
Here's a couple of things that have been said about Paul on one of my 'other' beatles sites.. please note these people never talk about PID...
Since we recently discussed Paul's cocaine "era," I thought I'd upload this. It's Paul's infamous LSD interview from 1967. This was also when he was doing coke regularly, and for those who wondered what the effects of the drug on workaholic Paul McCartney was, check this out. He's frickin' skin and bones, and also so...not Paul. I'd bet money he was stoned on coke while doing this interview. He's saying intelligent things, but he's so shifty and kind of...dulled. Like he has to concentrate on everything the guy is saying.
and...
So here are some random little things about Paul I've been thinking about lately... First of all, what the HELL is up with Paul's eyes??? I know we've brushed on this topic a few times before, but I was looking through my photos and couldn't believe how many eye colors Macca seems to have. then it goes on to show photos of the everchanging eye colour.
I too have noticed how incredibly changeable his eyes are...but then I saw them up close and personal in New York a few years ago (I mean real real close) and at least in that moment his eyes were green as they could be.
I find it all quite amusing ehehe.

i am one of those people that eyesbleed mentions.. MY STORY My mum was 15 when Beatlemania took it's hold on the world, and yes.. she was one of those girls who was completely obsessed.. you know with the screaming, crying and swooning.. so i have pretty much grown up with The Beatles.. but never really paid a great deal of attention to them. Until a few months ago.. when i was complaining about the lack of decent music out. I was driving home late one night and i had on ABC radio (cause i am sick to death of mainstream) and Please, Please me came on.. and that was it... as soon i as got home, i broke out the records and had myself a beatlesfest Then i decided to watch the Anthology box set.. whilst i'm watching it, and it's going through everything and the Current Paul is talking... i was like.. bloody hell he looks different, but i just thought drugs.. age.. but yet the others didn't seem different to me. Then i get to the last discs.. the 67 and onwards and i was dumbfounded! I immeadiately thought there was no way that could be the same man! So i said to my mum... that is not Paul McCartney.. i was adamant that is was NOT the same man, it was just so obvious to me, and she then went on to tell me the whole PID thing.. and now i am here, I don't put a whole lot of belief in the hearsay of the accident and what not, but i believe my eyes, and to me he is NOT the same person he was pre 67!

interesting.. you make a valid point. You know I think something weird happened.. i don't think it was woops Paul died accidently in a car crash, there is not a good enough reason to cover that up, and for what.. the beatles broke up 3 years later.. it seems pointless. I think suicide or foul play make for better reasons for a cover up.

It's from the book McCartney by Chris Salewicz. There is a bit in the book that talks about the death threats from militant students they recieved then goes onto the whole manilla thing, and then Johns "popular jesus" comment and the death threats from the KKK. Then it says and i qoute: "After rain caused a show in Cincinnati to be postponed for a day, Paul was discovered back at the group's hotel vomiting violently from tension. It was hardly surprising that by the last day of the tour, that the Beatles had had enough, it was their last live show ever" poor paulie

i have to agree there.. Paul just does not look right there.. those clips have always made me wonder! expecially if you watch anthology and see Paul after these clips were made. He looks like normal Paul again... I feel the same about parts of the "Help" movie too. Maybe there was a double for a while before he died, but for what reason?... filling in when Paul wasn't feeling well. There was the whole thing about him being found in a bathroom of a hotel in 66 vomiting violently from tension. I am beginning to think maybe he literally did 'blow his mind out in a car' or maybe even got 'hung about' in that tree in Strawberry Fields.. who knows

ARE YOU THERE? GOD, WHERE ARE YOU? ARE YOU HIDING IN YOUR HEAVEN? OR BENEATH YOUR DEEPEST SEA? WAS THERE SOMETHING IN OUR PAST IMPERFECT? IS IT SOMETHING THAT WE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN? GOD, WHERE ARE YOU? ARE YOU HIDING, GOD? ARE YOU HIDING IN THE RAIN? ARE YOU HIDING? ARE YOU THERE?
I AM HERE I AM HERE IN EVERY SONG YOU SING IN THE WINGS OF A RISING LARK THROUGH THE DARKNESS TO THE MORNING LIGHT. I AM HERE AS FIRST A NEW BORN BABE OPENS EYES ON THE UNIVERSE. I AM HERE. I AM HERE NOW. I AM WITH YOU. I AM HERE AS EVERY FLAKE OF SNOW WASHING WHITE ON THE COUNTRYSIDE, AS EACH GREEN BLADE STRETCHES FOR THE SUN. I AM HERE WATCHING OVER THEM I AM HERE AS FIRST A NEW BORN BABE OPENS EYES ON THE UNIVERSE. WITH EACH STEP I'LL BE THAT ARM THAT GUIDES NOW AND THEN 'TIL THE END OF TIME.
AMEN

I lost my wife She lost her life
Until then The luxury Of no responsibility
Chopper wouldn’t Fall that night As, clenched inside a glove We sucked Each other’s energy

Rocking On!
I want to smell Your underarm odour I want to drink Your ice cream soda
Reminisce About our childhood What we did In deepest wildwood
Let’s remember Fifties cars And hanging out in Late-night bars
Want to give Your back a rub Them jump into A foamy tub
Laugh at all Your High School jokes One two many Scotch and Cokes
Want to stroke Your furry kitten Don’t be shy You won’t be bitten
When we’ve seen The babies doze off Let me see you Take your clothes off
When this world is Dead and gone We will still be Rocking On!

Irish Language
Those Irish chappies Have a fine sense of it This language of ours
They toss it in the air Like a snowball
Dribble it through their fingers Like the guy in the movie
Tell tales that fell Off the back of a lorry Carting logs for the furnace
Swill it round their mouths And let the spittle drip Slowly out
Trickle, tumble, Fiddle, fumble Bimble, bumble
To be sure of anything Would be a fine thing
To be sure As Spike says – The Beatles were a bunch of Micks

To find the joy
Seagulls bright white glint Against a charcoal morning sky Enough for lovers to see heavens by But fox and rabbit badger yeah And seagull too think harder crueller thoughts – Do or be done to – No poet’s joy for them
Seagulls spiral whirl Against the sullen oak No scientific thought informs Their common madcap tribal swirl
Foot them the warming sun Not only warms but shines A harsher light to be discovered by An overshoulder ever-watchful life While we will quieten our disquiet To find the joy
