^Look who just hit 11,000 posts! I just hit 333. Also, B, in your post about "And Your Bird Can Sing" on this page, your photo of a green Isis is down. Do you still have it? I thought it was Osiris that was green in the painting of the dead in the underworld. Osiris seated on the right. Isis and her sister standing behind him. Also, speaking of Orpheus: he was a legendary musician that could charm any living creature, he worshipped only Apollo, was beheaded, and is closely associated with Dionysis. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orpheus www.howtallisthestatueofliberty.org/why-is-the-statue-of-liberty-green/

You tell me that you've got everything you want And your bird can sing But you don't get me, you don't get me
You say you've seen seven wonders and your bird is green But you can't see me, you can't see me
When your prized possessions start to weigh you down Look in my direction, I'll be round, I'll be round

Slightly off-topic, but in response to B’s post about Jack Jones’ “A Day In the Life of a Fool” obligatory mention Jack Jones - A day in the life of a fool www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvLIlqKJ0eINot a song about PID, but a possible inspiration for the title of the song on the Sgt Pepper album. I thought I recognized that melody. This is the American version of the Bossa Nova song “Manha de Carnaval” from the 1959 film Black Orpheus. "A Day In the Life of a Fool", lyrics by Carl Sigman. Carl Sigman also wrote the lyrics to “Answer Me, My Love” which shares similarities to the Beatles’ "Yesterday" both musically and thematically. The music to "Answer Me, My Love" is from the German song "Mutterlein". Sigman also wrote the song “Just Yesterday” in 1965, which contains the line, “…only yesterday, now it all seems so far away”. Jack Jones’ recording of “Just Yesterday” reached #4 in the US charts that year. Answer Me, My Love Mutterlein Just Yesterday Also, give this song a listen: Melody by Edvard Grieg, 1883 Bumping this comment of mine for VoodooGuru & who ever else is interested. (didn't want to go off on too many directions in the other thread).

Mutterlien sounds even more like Yesterday than Answer Me, My Love did. Probably the pacing/tempo of the song. Cole tended to drag stuff out, cuz he had the voice When I first heard Answer Me, My Love, I just found it unmistakeably similar to "Yesterday" -- it's the way the words fall, and what syllable they hit on, and the melody. Jack Jones

This is my first post, although I have been lurking around this site for sometime now. Anyway, this one always reeked of PID to me. www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=T87u5yuUVi8Psychedelic Furs - The Ghost In Youwww.youtube.com/watch?v=T87u5yuUVi8 A man in my shoes runs a light And all the papers lied tonight But falling over you Is the news of the day Angels fall like rain And love, love, love Is all of heaven away (Love, love, love, love, love) Inside you the time moves and she don't fade The ghost in you, she don't fade Inside you the time moves and she don't fade A race is on, I'm on your side And here in you, my engines die I'm in a mood for you Or running away Stars come down in you And love, love, love You can't give it away (Love, love, love, love, love) Inside you the time moves and she don't fade The ghost in you, she don't fade Inside you the time moves and she don't fade Don't you go, it makes no sense When all your talk and supermen Just take away the time And get in the way Ain't it just like rain? And love, love, love Is only heaven away (Love, love, love, love, love) Inside you the time moves and she don't fade The ghost in you, she don't fade Inside you the time moves and she don't fade The ghost in you, she don't fade Inside you the time moves and she don't fade The ghost in you, she don't fade Inside you the time moves

I know CREAM's "BADGE" was previously discussed on this thread. It was co-written by George Harrison along with Eric Clapton. The song is found on Cream's last studio LP GOODBYE. It is a gatefold sleeve and when you open it up it has this interesting artwork with gravestones (seven of them). There is a fellow on the far right blowing a burial tune on his trumpet and he looks kind of SGT. Pepper-Ish. I am just posting it here and perhaps somebody can find a clue or something on it. I believe there could be something to it.

The Boxer by Simon & Garfunkel (1969)
I am just a poor boy Though my story's seldom told I have squandered my resistance For a pocketful of mumbles Such are promises All lies and jest Still, a man hears what he wants to hear And disregards the rest
When I left my home and my family I was no more than a boy In the company of strangers In the quiet of a railway station Running scared Laying low, seeking out the poorer quarters Where the ragged people go Looking for the places only they would know Lie-la-lie...
Asking only workman's wages I come looking for a job But I get no offers Just a come-on from the whores on Seventh Avenue I do declare there were times when I was so lonesome I took some comfort there Lie-la-lie...
Now the years are rolling by me The are rocking easily I am older than I once was And younger than I'll be But that's not unusual No, it isn't strange After changes upon changes We are more or less the same After changes we are More or less the same
Then I'm laying out my winter clothes And wishing I was gone Going home Where the New York City winters aren't bleeding me Leading me Going home
In the clearing stands a boxer And a fighter by his trade And he carries the remainders Of every glove that laid him down And cut him till he cried out In his anger and his shame “I am leaving, I am leaving” But the fighter still remains Lie-la-lie..
RED=Missing verse which did not appear on the original recording but was performed live in later years, including Saturday Night Live and Letterman!

Fakin' It Simon and Garfunkel
When she goes, she's gone. If she stays, she stays here. The girl does what she wants to do. She knows what she wants to do. And I know I'm fakin' it, I'm not really makin' it. (Consider "I" as Faul, and Paul as the girl who comes and goes, doing what she wants to do. Paul does what he wants to; Faul is 'stuck' faking being Paul. )
I'm such a dubious soul, And a walk in the garden Wears me down. Tangled in the fallen vines, Pickin' up the punch lines, I've just been fakin' it, Not really makin' it. (Faul, representing the 'fallen serpent of the garden of Eden, tangled in the vines, and the butt of jokes. The girl who comes and goes is the now-liberated Eve.)
"Is there any danger?" (asks Faul)
"No, no; not really. Just lean on me." (His tutor, Donovan, replies. See below.)
Takin' time to treat Your friendly neighbors honestly. (instead of lying, as he had to Eve, as the serpent in the garden)
I've just been fakin' it, I'm not really makin' it. This feeling of fakin' it‹ I still haven't shaken it.
Prior to this lifetime I most surely was a tailor ("Good morning, Mr. Leitch. Have you had a busy day?") (People picked up on this reference to Donovan early on.)
I OWN the tailor's face and hands. I AM the tailor's face and hands I know I'm fakin' it, fakin it! I'm not really makin' it. (as JPM) This feeling of fakin' it I still haven't shaken it.
Take note that the song opens and closes with the ending sound of 'Strawberry Fields Forever'!
'Let me take you 'down' where I'm going to'
Strawberry Fields is 'down' where 'nothing is real' - the physical realm of daily life on Earth.
The girl who comes and goes is Eve.
When she goes she's gone, when she stays, she stays here (in the garden of Eden)
A walk in the garden wears the serpent out, because he has to crawl on his belly, and can't actually walk.
The song is suggesting that Paul comes and goes to and from Earth from the Garden of Eden. Paul is Eve; Faul is the serpent.
Faul, taking time to treat your friendly neighbors honestly, speaks as the serpent now having to live on Earth, paying his dues.
The reason that 'the Walrus and me' are 'bout as close as can be' in the song "Glass Onion", is because Paul is Eve, and John is Adam.
(This is why John portrayed himself naked, along with Yoko on the "Two Virgins" album. Adam and Eve were two virgins.)
So, what you have is: John is Adam, Paul is Eve, Faul is the serpent.
"In the beginning, I misunderstood But now I've got it! The word is good!
sings John/Adam

this thread has produced many interesting conjectures, and i - and surely many others - are indebted to those able researchers and thinkers for their contributions. however, the only number i can concur with is the stones 'jigsaw puzzle' which is the most blatant and possibly only example of pid/pwr lyrics, yet. thank you, mickey. and, thank you all

This one is more than a bit of a stretch, but I find the lyrics very curious. Consider this a "maybe". You're Dead Norma Tanega 1966www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImAlx0amAIcDon't sing if you want to live long they have no use for your song you're dead, you're dead, you're dead you're dead and outta this world. You'll never get a second chance plan all your moves in advance stay dead, stay dead, stay dead stay dead and outta this world. Run fast don't stand in the sun there's too much work to be done you're down, you're down, you're down youre down and outta this world. Don't ever talk with your eyes be sure that you compromise you're dead, you're dead, you're dead you're dead and outta this world. Hear the unloved weeping like rain guard your sleep from the sound of their pain long gone, long gone, long gone long gone and outta this world. When you smile and it tears your face it's time for the inhuman race you're down, you're down, you're down you're down and outta this world. Now your hope and compassion is gone you've sold out your dream to the world stay dead, stay dead, stay dead you're dead and outta this world. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norma_Tanega"Norma Cecilia Tanega (born January 30, 1939, Vallejo, California) is an American folk/pop singer/songwriter. She was a camp counselor in the Catskills when she signed to New Voice Records in 1966. Her debut single, "Walkin' My Cat Named Dog", reached #22 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, but she never came close to charting there again. In Canada it reached #3 in the RPM Magazine charts and in the United Kingdom it peaked at #22 on the UK Singles Chart. Not overtly comedic, the title lyric ensured success as a novelty song, which was quickly forgotten as a one-hit wonder, but Tanega continued recording folk and folk pop material, including an album for RCA Records after moving to the United Kingdom in the 1970s. When she returned to the U.S., she got her Master of Fine Arts in painting and began teaching art in Claremont, California. She also began working with ceramic percussion instruments, and recorded with Brian and Amanda Ransom. She was also a member of world music ensemble Hybrid Vigor. During the late 1960s Tanega had a romantic relationship with singer Dusty Springfield. Tanega wrote lyrics to a number of songs Springfield recorded during this period: "No Stranger Am I", "Earthbound Gypsy", "Midnight Sounds", "The Colour of Your Eyes", "Morning (Bom Dia)" and "Go My Love". They remained friends until Springfield's death in 1999. She co-wrote "Dusty Springfield" with Blossom Dearie...."

This part of the song has me thinking that Simon and Garfunkel may be outing James Taylor as someone who is on the Beatles albums post 1966. James Taylor was one of the artists that Apple signed. Payback, possibly? www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1gdhG1_yBI

I don't like doing that, but he has been warned. Irrelevant comments, not pertinent to the topic at hand, whose sole purpose seems to be to discredit this site, will be deleted by me. It is spam ing, and I will not allow it. People are entitled to their opinion, and we try to allow for that here, but there is no need for us to be repeatedly beaten over the head with assertions that clearly are not true. No doubt there are some people who have been replaced. No doubt the godhead has some feminine aspects. Neither of those topics is germane to the topic of this thread, unless the poster has found a song pertaining to those issues. If hotman wants to show us that every rock star you've ever heard of has been replaced, he can post threads demonstrating that, in the appropriate areas, but he is not welcome to insert these unfounded allegations into every single topic that comes up for discussion. E = MC2 by Big Audio Dynamite was written by Mick Jones and Don Letts (has dreadlocks in the video). Letts was the filmographer of The Clash, who famously sang "phoney Beatlemania has bitten the dust" in London Calling. He said the song is a homage to Nicholas Roeg movies, so I looked him up. Roeg had a career as a cinematographer before becoming a director and worked with Richard Lester on Petulia and on a film which keeps popping up in my research - Masque of the Red Death. The questions are, does knowledge of PID/PWR bleed into Roeg's directorial work, then reemerge as a coherent story by Jones and Letts? Or do Jones and Letts cryptically express PID/PWR knowledge but make the audience who look for meaning in the song stop looking when they find the Roeg movies? The asterisked verses are dialogue sampled from the movie Performance. youtu.be/cHTDkJ-bQqM*Why don't you play the tune now? I don't like music. Come on you little geezer. THIS site has evidence that Dylan Elvis Bono and others were replaced in the "Celebrity Flux" section! Do you ever read it? Do you ever check out "Doppelganger" or other PID sites? They all have TONS of evidence that MANY people have been replaced! There WAS a song written about it called "Eveybody's Been Replaced"! If I am in the wrong section put me in the right one! To say that Paul was replaced and others wrote songs about then to get mad when I say they were replaced does not make much sense! So you want evidence? Here is Johnny Rotten in 1979. www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdlvdNfZ-LQHere is Rotten in the 2000's. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCgbRS2LrHYIn my opinion the guy in 1979 had a LOT different voice and accent and eyes and he was lot more thoughtful person ironically enough!
