And Keith Moon cut his hair in a bowl style and is really working the facial expressions back there.

Just from listening to the lyrics of that song, I always wondered if there might be a PID/PWR connection.

I read this is a magazine while I was in my doctor's office. It was in an article entitled Dear John ( about Elton John ):
The interviewer: More than any other rock star of your generation, you seem to take a real interest in young and new artists. Why ?
Elton: When I was starting out, people like GEORGE HARRISON, Leon Russell, Neil Diamond and BRIAN WILSON took an interest in me. They were my heroes and they were so supportive of me, and it meant the world. I think it's very important for my generation to do that for people now.
HMMMM.....

I was out having drinks with friends last night and at one stop-off, the house music played the Elton John/George Michael version of "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me", I think part of a Freddie Mercury tribute bu then I am not sure. Anyway, it's fantastic and I love how Sir Elton shared the stage and song so graciously with then very new George Michael. An unquestionably great vocal talent; but it didn't phase Elton to give him plenty of room in the song. And gawd did they sound great together! Kiki Dee, another case. Ru Paul, another case.........well REALLY another case altogether......butI loved it. Hmmm,. same song as Kiki Dee....... Maybe it's time for a new duet version of that song with Clay Aiken. Well, maybe not THAT song.......or a duet with Taylor Kicks...........well maybe not so much....... Or.....Jennifer Hudson..........well now, with Dreamgirls she's gonna fly on her own...still, a duet between them, Sir Elton and she...........on just the right soulful song.......that could be wonderful, IMO. Uhm...Beyoncé, Jennifier, Elton , and Clay in a new quartet song produced by Quincy Jones.....written by Taupin, John, Beyoncé, and Stevie Wonder. I can dream, can't I?

Since I've already quoted extensively from this song in other threads, I suppose I should list it as a potential PID/PWR song, which, in my opinion, it is. I think there's quite a possibility that it is addressed to Paul, after he left (was forced to leave?) the Beatles. I think the use of the title "Like A Rolling Stone" is a deliberate reference to the Rolling Stones, supposedly the Beatles' "competition" in the early days. A put-down of sorts, to be "like a Rolling Stone", as the Stones were considered to be somewhat "unclean", the opposite of the image the Beatles had. Although the person addressed is female ("Miss Lonely"), the lyrics could still fit Paul in his post-Beatle days, imo.
Like A Rolling Stone (Bob Dylan)
Once upon a time you dressed so fine You threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you? People'd call, say, "Beware doll, you're bound to fall" You thought they were all kiddin' you You used to laugh about Everybody that was hangin' out Now you don't talk so loud Now you don't seem so proud About having to be scrounging for your next meal.
How does it feel How does it feel To be without a home Like a complete unknown Like a rolling stone?
You've gone to the finest school all right, Miss Lonely But you know you only used to get juiced in it And nobody has ever taught you how to live on the street And now you find out you're gonna have to get used to it You said you'd never compromise With the mystery tramp, but now you realize He's not selling any alibis As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes And ask him do you want to make a deal?
How does it feel How does it feel To be on your own With no direction home Like a complete unknown Like a rolling stone?
You never turned around to see the frowns on the jugglers and the clowns When they all come down and did tricks for you You never understood that it ain't no good You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you You used to ride on the chrome horse with your diplomat Who carried on his shoulder a Siamese cat Ain't it hard when you discover that He really wasn't where it's at After he took from you everything he could steal.
How does it feel How does it feel To be on your own With no direction home Like a complete unknown Like a rolling stone?
Princess on the steeple and all the pretty people They're drinkin', thinkin' that they got it made Exchanging all kinds of precious gifts and things But you'd better lift your diamond ring, you'd better pawn it babe You used to be so amused At Napoleon in rags and the language that he used Go to him now, he calls you, you can't refuse When you got nothing, you got nothing to lose You're invisible now, you got no secrets to conceal.
How does it feel How does it feel To be on your own With no direction home Like a complete unknown Like a rolling stone? (end)
Making a deal with "the mystery tramp" (apparently in order to be supplied with drugs) may have been agreeing to (secretly) leave the Beatles so that a replacement the powers-that-be could boss around could be put into place. This part:
"Princess on the steeple and all the pretty people They're drinkin', thinkin' that they got it made Exchanging all kinds of precious gifts and things But you'd better lift your diamond ring, you'd better pawn it babe"
could well apply to the people "riding the (Beatle) gravy train", as Pink Floyd put it; the "little piggies". While thinking they've succeeded in getting what they want, they party hearty while Paul has to pawn his ring to have money to survive. Paul's "diplomat" could be the person with whom he arranged to leave the Beatles; possibly Faul, though it may not be. "the finest school" - being trained for the Beatle "mission" in some way.

Here's a Neil Young (Buffalo Springfield) song about Faul's face. At least, I'm 100% sure it's about Faul's face, but I don't know it for a fact. This song is from about 1968. (Sung from Paul's point of view) Mr. Soul (Neil Young)
Oh, hello Mr. Soul, I dropped by to pick up a reason For the thought that I caught that my head is the event of the season Why in crowds just a trace of my face could seem so pleasin' I'll cop out to the change, but a stranger is putting the tease on. (Faul is)[/b] I was down on a frown when the messenger brought me a letter I was raised by the praise of a fan who said I upset her Any girl in the world could have easily known me better She said, You're strange, but don't change, and I let her.
In a while will the smile on my face turn to plaster? Stick around while the clown who is sick does the trick of disaster For the race of my head and my face is moving much faster Is it strange I should change? I don't know, why don't you ask her? (Ask the fan who he hooked up with in the 2nd verse; probably Sylvie. He "let her" into his life, and then had to be "on the run". His face may have been altered; "the race" being to outwit those who might otherwise cause him harm.)hear it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rY61Si3GQeg&mode=user&search=

Here is another key PID/PWR song by Neil Young. It was on the "Neil Young" album, which came out in about 1970. Basically, the song verses loosely correspond to a sequence of stops along the old US Route 66 between California and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Neil sings in a demented fashion, so that it would have "plausible deniability", imo, in the event that astute listeners figured out what was really being said. Comments follow:
"Last Trip To Tulsa" (Neil Young)
Well, I used to drive a cab, you know I heard a siren scream Pulled over to the corner And I fell into a dream
There were two men eating pennies And three young girls who cried The West coast is falling, I see rocks in the sky. The preacher took his bible And laid it on the stool. He said: with the congregation running, Why should I play the fool?
Well, I used to be a woman, you know I took you for a ride, I let you fly my airplane It looked good for your pride. 'Cause you're the kind of man, you know Who likes what he says. I wonder what's it's like To be so far over my head.
Well, the lady made the wedding And she brought along the ring. She got down on her knees And said: Let's get on with this thing.
Well, I used to be a folk singer Keeping managers alive, When you saw me on a corner And told me I was jive. So I unlocked your mind, you know To see what I could see. If you guarantee the postage, I'll mail you back the key.
Well I woke up in the morning With an arrow through my nose There was an Indian in the corner Tryin' on my clothes.
Well, I used to be asleep you know With blankets on my bed. I stayed there for a while 'Til they discovered I was dead. The coroner was friendly And I liked him quite a lot. If I hadn't 've been a woman I guess I'd never have been caught. They gave me back my house and car And nothing more was said.
Well, I was driving down the freeway When my car ran out of gas. Pulled over to the station But I was afraid to ask. The servicemen were yellow And the gasoline was green. Although I knew I couldn't I thought that I was gonna scream.
That was on my last trip to Tulsa Just before the snow. If you ever need a ride there, Be sure to let me know.
I was chopping down a palm tree When a friend dropped by to ask If I would feel less lonely If he helped me swing the axe. I said: No, it's not a case of being lonely We have here, I've been working on this palm tree For eighty seven years I said: No, it's not a case of being lonely We have here, I've been working on this palm tree For eighty seven[/b] years He said: Go get lost! And walked towards his Cadillac. I chopped down the palm tree And it landed on his back.
The "87 years" was, I believe, intended to point to the line "It was 20 years ago today" in Sgt. Pepper. Neil put lines in the song that he hoped would help people relate it to the Beatles. Note the references to "pennies" (Penny Lane"), "the fool" (On the Hill) etc. Sgt. Pepper came out in 1967, so add twenty years and you get 1987. He was hoping people would figure that out, thinking in reverse, essentially. I believe he hoped that the people would have the PID mystery solved by 1987, and so the palm tree hitting the person who told Paul to "get lost" in the back was essentially the cover-up coming back to hit its perpetrators in the back. Notice, we again have the suggestion that Paul was forced out of the Beatles. The yellow gas station attendants and green gas correspond to Roswell, New Mexico, where it was reported nationwide in 1947 that an alien craft had crashed. (IE, the aliens were manning the gas pumps, symbolically.) Roswell was a stop on Route 66, of course. Neil Young is pointing out Paul's movement from the Tulsa OK, area [where I believe he'd been hiding out] to California (where I suspect he may actually have stayed at Neil Young's ranch for a while.) The Indian references suggest he (Paul) may have been hiding out on the (American) Indian reservations which are all around Tulsa, Oklahoma. I am of the opinion that Faul's "Home In (the heart of) The Country" and "Eat At Home" on RAM point to this area as well. In the 1960s and 1970s, Oklahoma was known for Oral Roberts' college (later "university"); hence "Eat At Home" a hint about the oral activity of eating; eating at home - (where you live). In other words, Paul was living near Oral Robert's college. (More on that later.) I think Paul moved around in the American midwest after he left the Beatles, and so album titles like the Small Faces' "Ogden's (Utah) Nut Gone Flake" (Paul as a madman) and the song "Omaha" (Nebraska) by Moby Grape were actually clues about where Paul hid out. There's nothing in the song "Omaha" about Omaha, btw.
"Well, I used to be asleep you know With blankets on my bed. ("I'm only sleeping") I stayed there for a while 'Til they discovered I was dead. (The rumor hit nationwide in 1969.)
The suggestion is that from 1966 'til 1969 he hid out in the American midwest, but ended up in California. (Maybe spending some time at the "Manson Ranch"?) Note the Beach Boy style harmonies in the "Back Seat of My Car" on RAM.
California (Hollywood) pointed to by the TV and actress and palm tree on the cover of Sgt. Pepper.
"Well, I used to be a woman, you know I took you for a ride," ("She's got a ticket to ride")(Paul has an escape from the band)
"If I hadn't 've been a woman I guess I'd never have been caught. (He hid out disguised as a woman. "Honey Pie"/"Wild Honey Pie". "Wild Honey" [Pie] a BEACH BOYS song.) The Beach Boy's style of the "California Girls"-type parody, "Back In the USSR" on the White Album; a whole other clue in and of itself. [/b][/color]

More about the song in the previous post:
"Well, I used to drive a cab, you know I heard a siren scream Pulled over to the corner And I fell into a dream"
Points to: "Somebody spoke and I went into a dream." "He blew his mind out in a car."[/b]
The "Well, I used to drive a cab, you know" relates to a story that on a few occassions Paul arranged to drive a cab around London to see what people would say. He wanted to see if people would say, "You look like Paul McCartney!", or if they'd say, "The Beatles really suck." etc. I don't know how often, if ever, he actually pulled off this stunt. My understanding is that if someone fingered him as Paul, he would say, "Oh, I wish I were that fellow, I sure could use his money." I apologize that I don't recall where I heard/read about this.
"Well, the lady made the wedding And she brought along the ring. She got down on her knees And said: Let's get on with this thing."
The suggestion here that Paul did get married.
"So I unlocked your mind, you know To see what I could see. If you guarantee the postage, I'll mail you back the key."
This may be a reference to "LSD Paul"/Sgt Pepper seemingly advocating the use of LSD or other drugs. Not so much about actual Paul as a clue to listeners that the song was about the Beatles.
"The preacher took his bible And laid it on the stool. He said: with the congregation running, Why should I play the fool?"
One of Paul's disguises, after having been "found out" as a woman, may have been a preacher. This may tie in with Oral Robert's religious school in Oklahoma.
"He one holy roller" in "Come Together" on Abbey Road. In the lyrics above, "the fool" (on the hill) linked to "the preacher". In other words: the same person. "1,2,3,4,5,6,7, All good children go to heaven." One can imagine Paul, feeling guilt for the (possible) death of Sylvie, might have turned to God in a big way.
In the Buffalo Springfield song "Bluebird", these lyrics seem to fit Sylvie, 'tho' the song is generally presumed to be about "Suite" Judy Blue Eyes: Judy Collins.
Listen to my bluebird laugh. She can't tell you why. Deep within her heart, you see, She knows only crying. Just crying. There she sits, a lofty perch. Strangest color blue. Flying is forgotten now. Thinks only of you. Just you. So, get all those blues, Must be a thousand hues. And each just differently used. You just know. You sit there mesmerized By the depth of her eyes That you can't categorize. She got soul. She got soul. She got soul. She got soul! Do you think she loves you? Do you think at all?
Soon she's going to fly away. Sadness is her own. Reverse of a death of tears And go home, and go home.

Having mentioned part of this song in another thread, I've decided to post the entire song here as a possibly PID/PWR-linked song.
Artificial Energy (the Byrds)
Sittin' all alone now, I took my ticket to ride Just a matter of time now, 'til I'll be up in the sky Coming up on me now, I'm king for the night What's it gonna be now, How hurtful things are brewing inside. Do you think it's really the truth that you see? I've got my doubts, it's happened to me.
Artificial energy is wrestling my mind. I've got a strange feeling I'm going to die before my time I'm coming down off amphetamine And I'm in jail 'cause I killed a queen.
I think the song is meant to convey that the singer has perpetrated a murder while high on amphetymine, and was unaware of what he had done.

In about 1968, Buffalo Springfield did a Neil Young song called "Broken Arrow". It was all very mysterious when you heard it. Everybody wondered what it was supposed to mean. In hindsight, it seems apparent to me that it's about Paul being replaced. This is one that it helps to hear, because there's a heartbeat like on Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon", and the song has a strange instrumental piece at the end meant to convey the idea of "in the meantime, life goes on from day to day", imo. Here are the lyrics: "Broken Arrow" (Neil Young)
The lights turned on and the curtain fell down, And when it was over it felt like a dream, They stood at the stage door and begged for a scream, The agents had paid for the black limousine That waited outside in the rain.
Did you see them, did you see them? Did you see them in the river? They were there to wave to you. Could you tell that the empty quivered, Brown skinned Indian on the banks That were crowded and narrow, Held a broken arrow?
Eighteen years of American dream, He saw that his brother had sworn on the wall. He hung up his eyelids, and ran down the hall, His mother had told him a trip was a fall, And don't mention babies at all.
Did you see him, did you see him? Did you see him in the river? He was there to wave to you. Could you tell that the empty quivered, Brown skinned Indian on the banks That were crowded and narrow, Held a broken arrow?
The streets were lined for the wedding parade, The Queen wore the white gloves, the county of song, The black covered caisson her horses had drawn Protected her King from the sun rays of dawn. They married for peace, and were gone.
Did you see them, did you see them? Did you see them in the river? They were there to wave to you. Could you tell that the empty quivered, Brown skinned Indian on the banks That were crowded and narrow, Held a broken arrow?A You Tube cover version here:www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dy4JFPfT138The first verse was preceded with girls screaming, as at a Beatles concert, and a line from "Mr. Soul" (discussed above). The second verse had a baseball stadium organ playing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" at the start of it. This pointing to the Beatle concert at Shea Stadium, imo. The third verse had the drum cadence of a state funeral, which anyone alive at the time instantly would recognize as the funeral drums played at John F. Kennedy's funeral as his casket was drawn, on a caisson, by horses up Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. I think that the first verse was meant to point to the Beatles, in listeners minds. The second verse is about Paul's replacement, the "American Dream"[/color], having his face altered to look like Paul, seeing that his brother, Paul, had sworn (an oath of some sort) on "the wall". I believe it was an oath to avenge Sylvie's death, or her forced marraige to Johnny H. The third verse is about a marraige that was involved with a funeral. Like a Romeo and Juliett scenario where the two lovers were united ("married") in death. There are many meanings to the term "broken arrow", but it is often thought of as a lost nuclear weapon. But another meaning for "Broken Arrow" is that it's the name of a town in Oklahoma, and guess what. The town's motto is: "Home of the American Dream"So, I think that by calling his song "Broken Arrow", Neil was pointing to Paul hiding out in Oklahoma. I don't think he was meaning to betray Paul, revealing his hide-away. Rather, it was a clue, which Neil knew would be understood at a later date, but not at the time the song came out. It could also mean that one of Paul's replacements was living there. All of which leads us to the next post!

This song, done by Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, came out in 1988. "American Dream" (Neil Young)
I used to see you on every T.V. Your smiling face looked back at me. I used to see you on every T.V. Your smiling face looked back at me.
Then they caught you with the girl next door, People's money piled on the floor, Accusations that you try to deny, Revelations and rumors begin to fly.(Criminal activity; philandering too.)Now you think about reaching out Maybe get some help from above. (He turns to God)Now you think about reaching out Maybe get some help from above.
Reporters crowd around your house. Going through your garbage like a pack of hounds, Speculating what they may find out, It don't matter now; you're all washed up.
You wake up in the middle of the night. Your sheets are wet and your face is white, You tried to make a good thing last,[/color] How could something so good, go bad, so fast?
American dream, American dream American dream, American dream.
Don't know when things went wrong, Might have been when you were young and strong. Don't know when things went wrong, Might have been when you were young and strong. Reporters crowd around your house. Going through your garbage like a pack of hounds, Speculating what they may find out, It don't matter now; you're all washed up.
Don't know when things went wrong, (etc.)Now, knowing what you do, check out the video. YouTube took it down. #@$%!& ! It was full of clues! Watch carefully. Someone's in a wheel chair while his double arrives at the house with his lovely celebrity wife. But "the pretty nurse" goes to the guy in the wheel chair for an autograph! And the autograph is signed on a portrait of Frank Sinatra! (Or is it Frank Finatra?) Who do the couple in bed resemble? Hmmmm? There is an overlay, in the video, of the death of American freedom signified by Bush, Reagan etc., but this video operates on two (or more) levels. I mention it because the tycoon that Stills plays isn't Paul, imo, but "the powers that be" as it were. I think the house in the video symbolizes "the house of Paul" in the grander sense. Neil Young was a "long distance" friend of Paul's ("I have a friend I've never seen") and would never say to him, in a derogatory, public fashion, "You're all washed up!" The "American Dream" isn't Paul, but a replacement. And it's not Bill (Faul), imo. I don't think it's Dino Danelli either, but one and one and one is THREE. So Paul could be in a hole in the ocean. Living on a hill (in a wheel chair?) You name it. One and one and one is three. Three Pauls. There are significant implications. Who was into "Michelle", for example? Who shot "coca-cola"? Who was hiding out in the American midwest? Who was a "woman"? Who was in a car crash? Who may have swung the silver hammer? And who, disguised as a mild-mannered rock and roll musician, fights a never ending battle for truth, justice, and the American way? Unless he's dead. Or perhaps, in spite of it.

Can't help but wonder. There was something in "Revolution Number 9" about joining the navy: Sail On Sailor (the Beach Boys) I sailed an ocean, unsettled ocean Through restful waters and deep commotion Often frightened, unenlightened Sail on, sail on sailor I wrest the waters, fight Neptune's waters Sail through the sorrows of life's marauders Unrepenting, often empty Sail on, sail on sailor Caught like a sewer rat alone but I sail Bought like a crust of bread, but oh do I wail Seldom stumble, never crumble Try to tumble, life's a rumble Feel the stinging I've been given Never ending, unrelenting Heartbreak searing, always fearing Never caring, persevering Sail on, sail on, sailor I work the seaways, the gale-swept seaways Past shipwrecked daughters of wicked waters Uninspired, drenched and tired Wail on, wail on, sailor Always needing, even bleeding Never feeding all my feelings Damn the thunder, must I blunder There's no wonder all I'm under Stop the crying and the lying And the sighing and my dyingSail on, sail on sailor Sail on, sail on sailor Sail on, sail on sailor Sail on, sail on sailor on You Tube:www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0eQUHCJJGYthe write up at You Tube:"Sail On, Sailor" was the final song recorded for the 1973 Beach Boys album Holland. The song was written over a period of two years by Brian Wilson, along with Van Dyke Parks (Brian's lyricist for SMiLE), then-Beach Boys manager Jack Rieley, Ray Kennedy, and Tandyn Almer (composer of The Association's "Along Comes Mary"). The song is still regarded as one of the Beach Boys' best songs of the 1970's, and Brian Wilson's last classic song he wrote for the group."

SR-71 LYRICS "Paul McCartney" Last night I had a dream It wasn't about anything But it made me smile It made me scream We should take this slow 'Cause I can't let go When it feels so good To feel this low I stumble and she sees all Waiting for me to fall Obsessing over her But it's nothing personal We should take this slow 'Cause I can't let go When it feels so good To feel this low We'll take our time Tell each other's lies In a world so much brighter If Paul were still alive Take this slow Till I lose control And I'm falling down Last night I had a dream It wasn't about anything I made you smile I made you scream [ www.azlyrics.com ]

Intersting song, Beatlies!
I find these lyrics to be of interest:
"We should take this slow 'Cause I can't let go When it feels so good To feel this low"
I believe Paul laid low and let himself be miserable for quite a while after leaving the Beatles. I think Sylvie's (apparent) death hit him very hard.

Hmm they are an interesting group, definitely a Beatles influence in this one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwEH4JuBjekPractically indentical to A Hard Day's Night, plus they evoke the "Meet The Beatles" cover at one point.

The "SR-71," like the "U2," is a United States Air Force/CIA/NSA secret, supersonic spy plane known for its ability to fly extremely fast at very high altitudes for extended periods of time, undetected by the nation it is secretly examining. It is known as the SR-71 BLACKBIRD . Another song on the White Album with "Blackbird" "singing in the dead of night" is Back in the U.S. SR that is interlaced throughout with airplane jet engine sounds and is a geographical survey of the Soviet Union. An X-rayed, twin electrode-inserted robot billboard for SR-71's "now you see inside" album", about five feet high or so, that was an illuminated window-display fixture at the street level of the World Trade Center on Liberty Street, next to the Coconuts CD/records store window displays on the street entrance to the WTC concourse mall. This SR-71 robot poster display was put up about a year before the WTC "9/11" bomb demolitions, with robot drone planes, and stayed in place a long time, right up to the day Sep 11, 2001. I noticed it as one of the sinister and odd things (an "alternative rock" group promoting the CIA, military stealth, mind control etc. at the WTC which was already rumored to be a CIA base) that was going on at the WTC in the several years prior to 9-11. This was their billboard album cover display at the WTC:"Now You See Inside" Including: Politically Incorrect, Alive, Last Moon on Monday, and more... Another SR-71 album cover: Tomorrow: Including: They All Fall Down, Truth, Hello Hello, and more... SR-71 "Blackbird," front, with a U-2 ---

All Along The Watchtower Bob Dylan
"There must be some way out of here" said the joker to the thief; "There's too much confusion", I can't get no relief. "Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth; None of them along the line, know what any of it is worth."
"No reason to get excited", the thief he kindly spoke. "There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke, but you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate. So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late."
All along the watchtower, princes kept the view While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too. Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl; Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl. (end)hear it/see it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wiuk4rIM8OUI have felt for a long time that this song represents Dylan's take on a conversation between Paul (the joker) and Bill (the thief) that allowed Bill to take over the Paul role in the Beatles. I suspect that Paul may have been imprisoned at the time, (hence "All along the watchtower") as he is drawn on the cover of the "Up Against It" book.
It may have been that with imprisonment, Paul felt he had had enough of fame.

Well, Shakespeare, he's in the alley With his pointed shoes and his bells, [The Beatles] Speaking to some French girl, [Sylvie Vartan, later to be seen walking in the back alley back cover of Abbey Road] Who says she knows me well. And I would send a message To find out if she's talked, But the post office has been stolen And the mailbox is locked.
Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobil [Oil, i.e. the United Snakes shadow government] With the Memphis blues again. [Country music, Elvis, symbolic of all that is fake, corrupted, plastic and horrible in the culture/media]
...... Now the senator came down here Showing ev'ryone his gun, Handing out free tickets To the wedding of his son. An' me, I nearly got busted An' wouldn't it be my luck To get caught without a ticket And be discovered beneath a truck.
Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobil [Oil] With the Memphis blues again.
"In 1955, Socony-Vacuum was renamed Socony Mobil Oil Company, then Mobil Oil Corporation in 1966 and finally Mobil Corporation in 1976 ......"

Here's the whole song: Stuck Inside of Mobile With the Memphis Blues Again (DYLAN) Oh, the ragman draws circles Up and down the block. I'd ask him what the matter was But I know that he don't talk. And the ladies treat me kindly And furnish me with tape, But deep inside my heart I know I can't escape. Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobile With the Memphis blues again. Well, Shakespeare, he's in the alley With his pointed shoes and his bells, Speaking to some French girl, Who says she knows me well. And I would send a message To find out if she's talked, But the post office has been stolen And the mailbox is locked. Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobile With the Memphis blues again. Mona tried to tell me To stay away from the train line. She said that all the railroad men Just drink up your blood like wine. An' I said, "Oh, I didn't know that, But then again, there's only one I've met An' he just smoked my eyelids An' punched my cigarette." Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobile With the Memphis blues again. Grandpa died last week And now he's buried in the rocks, But everybody still talks about How badly they were shocked. But me, I expected it to happen, I knew he'd lost control When he built a fire on Main Street And shot it full of holes. Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobile With the Memphis blues again. Now the senator came down here Showing ev'ryone his gun, Handing out free tickets To the wedding of his son. An' me, I nearly got busted An' wouldn't it be my luck To get caught without a ticket And be discovered beneath a truck. Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobile With the Memphis blues again. Now the preacher (Paul, imo) looked so baffled When I asked him why he dressed With twenty pounds of headlines Stapled to his chest. But he cursed me when I proved it to him, Then I whispered, "Not even you can hide. You see, you're just like me, I hope you're satisfied." Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobile With the Memphis blues again. Now the rainman gave me two cures, Then he said, "Jump right in." The one was Texas medicine, The other was just railroad gin. An' like a fool I mixed them An' it strangled up my mind, An' now people just get uglier An' I have no sense of time. Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobile With the Memphis blues again. When Ruthie says come see her In her honky-tonk lagoon, Where I can watch her waltz for free 'Neath her Panamanian moon. An' I say, "Aw come on now, You must know about my debutante." An' she says, "Your debutante just knows what you need But I know what you want." Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobile With the Memphis blues again. Now the bricks lay on Grand Street Where the neon madmen climb. They all fall there so perfectly, It all seems so well timed. An' here I sit so patiently *Waiting to find out what price You have to pay to get out of Going through all these things twice. Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobile With the Memphis blues again. Hear it/See it:www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2254zbccEs* Me, I'm just waiting so patiently With my woman on the floor We're just trying to do this jig-saw puzzle Before it rains anymore (from song below)

Jigsaw Puzzle (Richards/Jagger)
There's a tramp sittin' on my doorstep Tryin' to waste his time With his methylated sandwich He's a walking clothesline And here comes the bishop's daughter On the other side She looks a trifle jealous She's been an outcast all her life Me, I'm waiting so patiently Lying on the floor I'm just trying to do my jig-saw puzzle Before it rains anymore Oh the gangster looks so fright'ning With his luger in his hand When he gets home to his children He's a family man But when it comes to the nitty-gritty He can shove in his knife Yes he really looks quite religious He's been an outlaw all his life Me, I'm waiting so patiently Lying on the floor I'm just trying to do this jig-saw puzzle Before it rains anymore Me, I'm waiting so patiently Lying on the floor I'm just trying to do this jig-saw puzzle Before it rains anymore Oh the singer, he looks angry At being thrown to the lions And the bass player, he looks nervous About the girls outside And the drummer, he's so shattered Trying to keep up time And the guitar players look damaged They've been outcasts all thier lives Me, I'm waiting so patiently Lying on the floor I'm just trying to do this jig-saw puzzle Before it rains anymore Oh, there's twenty-thousand grandmas Wave their hankies in the air All burning up their pensions And shouting, "It's not fair!" There's a regiment of soldiers Standing looking on And the queen is bravely shouting, "What the hell is going on?" With a blood-curdling "tally-ho" She charged into the ranks And blessed all those grandmas who With their dying breaths screamed, "Thanks!" Me, I'm just waiting so patiently With my woman on the floor We're just trying to do this jig-saw puzzle Before it rains anymore

Elvis Costello's Imposters "Elvis Costello" =fake name of Declan Patrick Aloysius MacManus He recently admitted that he did not actually write some of the songs credited to him. He was considered by some to be the 1970s/80s New Wave torchbearer of the Beatles' lineage in writing brilliant, artistic new rock songs. When did he replace the name "the Attractions" with the what's-really-happening-in-Big Music clue "the Imposters"? wikipedia: "1979 would arguably see the peak of Costello's commercial success with the release of Armed Forces (originally to have been titled Emotional Fascism, a phrase that appeared on the LP's inner sleeve). Both the album and the single Oliver's Army went to #2 in the UK. Costello also found time in 1979 to produce the debut album for 2 Tone ska revival band, The Specials."
