I'd prefer that this not be a PID/PWR related song. It probably isn't one. "Can't be", I keep telling myself. But we know that something went wrong with "Wild" Honey Pie. At least, the discordant music of that song leaves one with that impression. It screams "craziness". "Honey Pie", as you may recall, went out to Hollywood to become a legend on the silver screen. On the Sgt. Pepper cover she's represented by Marlene Dietrich. But is that who she really was? (I think not. ) In any case, Honey Pie had gone to Hollywood to be in the movies. ("They're gonna put me in the movies...and all I gotta do is 'Act Naturally.'") But "Wild Honey Pie" tells us musically that something had gone terribly wrong. And so - This song just haunts me. And I don't know why. There shouldn't be a connection. So why do I feel as if there is? Sunny Came Home Shawn Colvin Hear it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRWfmW-LDIQSunny came home to her favourite room Sunny sat down in the kitchen She opened a book and a box of tools Sunny came home with a mission She says days go by I'm hypnotized I'm walking on a wire I close my eyes and fly out of my mind Into the fire Sunny came home with a list of names She didn't believe in transcendence It's time for a few repairs she said Sunny came home with a vengeance She says days go by I don't know why I'm walking on a wire I close my eyes and fly out of my mind" Into the fire Get the kids and bring a sweater Dry is good and wind is better Count the years, you always knew it Strike a match, go on and do it Days go by I'm hypnotized I'm walking on a wire I close my eyes and fly out of my mind Into the fire Light the sky and hold on tight The world is burning down She's out there on her own and she's alright Sunny came home Sunny came home (end) ------ She burned down her house, after getting her kids out of it.---------------- Burning Down The House Talking Heads hear it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oVuLJS_EokWatch out you might get what you're after Cool baby strange but not a stranger I'm an ordinary guy Burning down the house Hold tight wait 'til the party's over Hold tight we're in for nasty weather There has got to be a way Burning down the house Here's your ticket pack your bag; time for jumpin' overboard Transportation is here Close enough but not too far, baby you know where you are Fightin' fire with fire All wet hey you might need a raincoat Shakedown thieves walking in broad daylight Three hundred sixty five degrees Burning down the house It was once upon a place sometimes I listen to myself Gonna come in first place People on their way to work say baby what did you expect Gonna burst into flame My house S'out of the ordinary That's right Don't want to hurt nobody Some things sure can sweep me off my feet Burning down the house No visible means of support and you have not seen nothing yet Everything's stuck together I don't know what you expect staring into the TV set Fighting fire with fire Burning down the house (end) ----------- Move along. Who can it be, now?(Lot's of French being spoken here. Lot's of stuttering.)Psycho Killer Talking Heads hear it: (Especially this version) www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eeX9rdmld0I can’t seem to face up to the facts I’m tense and nervous and I can’t relax I can’t sleep because my bed’s on fire Don’t touch me I’m a real live wire. Psycho Killer Qu'est-ce que c'est? ("What is this?")fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better Run run run run run run run away! Psycho Killer Qu'est-ce que c'est? fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better Run run run run run run run away Listen to me now; I've passed the test. I think I'm cute. I think I'm the best. Certain types don't like that style. Don't critisize what I know is worthwhile. Psycho Killer Qu'est-ce que c'est? fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better Run run run run run run run away (etc.) (verse not sung in this version; skip to next one)You start a conversation; you can't even finish it. You're talkin' a lot, but you're not sayin' anything. When I have nothing to say, my lips are sealed. Say something once, why say it again? Psycho Killer, Qu'est-ce que c'est? fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better Run run run run run run run away Psycho Killer Qu'est-ce que c'est? fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better Run run run run run run run away Ce que j'ai fait, ce soir-là (That which I have done tonight)Ce qu'elle a dit, ce soir-là (That which she has said tonight)Réalisant mon espoir Accomplishing my hope Je me lance vers la gloire ...OK (I launch towards glory; OK) We are vain and we are blind! I hate people when they're not polite! Psycho Killer, Qu'est-ce que c'est? fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better Run run run run run run run away Psycho Killer, Qu'est-ce que c'est? fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better Run run run run run run run away oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh.... (end)------------ There are some extra lyrics in this YouTube version of the song. Pay attention; they are extra information. "I hate it when people aren't polite" the would-be killer said, drawing his gun? I don't want to think that this is about Paul, making his "escape" with Sylvie, and having shot Johnny H. because he wasn't polite about letting him do it. I don't want to think that, but..... Perhaps the song would work with Johnny H being the would-be killer. Run run run run away from the psycho killer. You start a conversation; you can't even finish it. You're talkin' a lot, but you're not sayin' anything. When I have nothing to say, my lips are sealed. Say something once, why say it again? - Paul took a vow of silence, if I understand the lyrics to the Pink Floyd song "Wearing the Inside Out" correctly. There are suggestions that after Paul's plane was shot down, he couldn't speak right. Stuttered. ("Nowadays Clancy Can't Even Sing" - Buffalo Springfield) ("Keep Talking" - Pink Floyd) ("Madman Across the Water" - Elton John) ("Shine On Brightly" - Procol Harum)

This one is so obvious, it doesn't need an explanation. And yet....there's more to it than you might think! Rock and Roll FantasyBad Company Kick off your shoes and boogie! www.youtube.com/watch?v=XW15O-JXs5EHere come the jesters , 1 2 3. It's all part of my fantasy. I love the music; And I love to see the crowd Dancing in the aisles, And singin' out loud!.....yeah! Here come the dancers, one by one. Your momma's callin' but you're having fun. (time to come home)You find you're dancin' on the number 9 cloud. Put your hands together now, and sing it out loud: "It's all part of my rock and roll fantasy. It's all part of my rock and roll dream. It's all part of my rock and roll fantasy. It's all part of my rock and roll dream!" Put out the spotlights, one and all, And let the feelin' get down to your soul. The music's so loud, you can hear the sound Reaching for the sky, churnin' up the ground. It's all part of my rock and roll fantasy. It's all part of my rock and roll dream. It's all part of my rock and roll fantasy. It's all part of my rock and roll dream.

beatlies wrote: "Jefferson = 3rd United States President."en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jefferson_AirplaneThe origin of the group's name is often disputed. "Jefferson airplane" is a slang term for a used paper match split open to hold a marijuana joint that has been smoked too short to hold without burning the hands -- an improvised roach clip. An urban legend claims this was the origin of the band's name, but according to band member Jorma Kaukonen, the name was invented by his friend Steve Talbot as a parody of blues names such as Blind Lemon Jefferson. A 2007 press release quoted Kaukonen as saying: "I had this friend [Talbot] in Berkeley who came up with funny names for people," explains Kaukonen. "His name for me was Blind Thomas Jefferson Airplane (for blues pioneer Blind Lemon Jefferson). When the guys were looking for band names and nobody could come up with something, I remember saying, 'You want a silly band name? I got a silly band name for you!'" ----------------------- This creepy but sign-if-i-cant Bowie video came up while I was looking at another one. From Google Search for Eleanor LyricsEleanor by Low Millions
Fine, I understand, okay with me, if that's the plan. You can take the stereo, the TV and the video, the bed the sheets and pillows, before you go. But for now, unlock the door, what are we doin' all this for? Let me make you dinner one last time, then you'll go your way, and I'll go mine.
And I won't call you baby, anymore, won't call you baby, like I did before, won't call you baby, anymore, Eleanor.
You left your smell, you left your taste, you left me here with my mistakes. And I can't relate to what you say I've done, but just for you, I'll bite my tongue.
And I won't call you baby, anymore, won't call you baby, like I did before, won't call you baby, anymore, Eleanor.
Eleanor I miss you, Eleanor be well, Eleanor I wish you'd release me from your spell.
Eleanor by The Gathering
Underneath the mask you've buried yourself into It's coal-black I am tired of the gulping that you do Every day a new face What if I unscrew Your own identity Wouldn's you guess there's nothing left of you?
The quicksand of life drags us Down into the circle One day we might not catch you
I feel sorry, for what you try to do Breaking others down, to try and to pursue Your own selfish interests I am starting to get sick of you
Whatever happened ever since you left You make yourself and me look like fools
Lady Eleanor by Lindisfarne
Bashee playing magician sitting lotus on the floor Belly dancing beauty with a power driven saw Had my share of nightmares, didn't think there could be much more then in walked Rodrick Usher with the Lady Eleanor
She tied my eyes with ribbon of a silken ghostly thread I gazed with trouble vision on an old four poster bed Where Eleanor had risen to kiss the neck below my head and bid me come along with her to the land of the dancing dead
But it's all right, Lady Eleanor All right, Lady Eleanor I'm all right where I am
She gazed with loving beauty like a mother to a son like living, dying, seeing, being all rolled into one Then all at once I heard some music playing in my bones the same old song I'd heard for years, reminding me of home
But it's all right, Lady Eleanor All right, Lady Eleanor I'm all right where I am
Then creeping on towards me, licking lips with tongues of fire a host of golden demons screaming lust and base desire and when it seemed for certain that the screams could get no higher I heard a voice above the rest screaming 'You're liar'
But it's all right, Lady Eleanor All right, Lady Eleanor I'm all right here in your arms

hear it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=30egIKHT-pM(note the bell tolling at the start) Suzanne Leonard Cohen Suzanne takes you down to her place near the river You can hear the boats go by You can spend the night beside her And you know that she's half crazy But that's why you want to be there And she feeds you tea and oranges That come all the way from China And just when you mean to tell her That you have no love to give her Then she gets you on her wavelength And she lets the river answer That you've always been her lover And you want to travel with her And you want to travel blind And you know that she will trust you For you've touched her perfect body with your mind. And Jesus was a sailor When he walked upon the water And he spent a long time watching From his lonely wooden tower And when he knew for certain Only drowning men could see him He said "All men will be sailors then Until the sea shall free them" But he himself was broken Long before the sky would open Forsaken, almost human He sank beneath your wisdom like a stone And you want to travel with him And you want to travel blind And you think maybe you'll trust him For he's touched your perfect body with his mind. Now Suzanne takes your hand And she leads you to the river She is wearing rags and feathers From Salvation Army counters And the sun pours down like honey On our lady of the harbour And she shows you where to look Among the garbage and the flowers There are heroes in the seaweed There are children in the morning They are leaning out for love And they will lean that way forever While Suzanne holds the mirror And you want to travel with her And you want to travel blind And you know that you can trust her For she's touched your perfect body with her mind. I believe "Suzanne" is Paul, living as a woman, after having received a head wound, and, as the song says, "half crazy". Leonard Cohen would link to the Beatles by way of Dylan, Lou Reed, or John Hammond.

SWEEPING UP THE SPOTLIGHT: JEFFERSON AIRPLANE LIVE AT THE FILLMORE EAST 1969 (RCA/Legacy) - Recorded in November, the same month Volunteers was released, this previously unissued 61-minute set finds the classic lineup at their absolute peak, performing a great set list ("Volunteers," "Good Shepherd," "Plastic Fantastic Lover," "The Ballad Of You & Me & Pooneil," "White Rabbit," much more), plus several songs not found on any JA albums, with brief introductory liner notes by Jorma Kaukonen;
Without question, 1969 was the absolute pinnacle year for the original, classic Jefferson Airplane lineup - Marty Balin, Paul Kantner, Jorma Kaukonen, Jack Casady, Grace Slick, and Spencer Dryden - and this November concert is the closest official recording before the changes that began to disrupt the group in 1970 (Kantner and Slick's Blows Against the Empire side project; Dryden's departure to New Riders Of the Purple Sage; Jorma and Jack's Hot Tuna; and Balin's growing disaffection).
1969 began with the February release of Bless Its Pointed Little Head, compiled from live performances of late-'68 at Bill Graham's Fillmore West and Fillmore East. In between milestone appearances at Woodstock (in August) and Altamont Speedway with the Rolling Stones (in December), Volunteers was released in November (the time frame for this concert CD). Volunteers was one of JA's most successful LPs, charting for 44 weeks. It closed with "Volunteers" (conspicuously Balin's only contribution), and contained "Good Shepherd" (a spiritual reworked by Kaukonen) - and those two numbers open this Fillmore East concert recorded the same month as the Volunteers album release.
Jefferson Airplane's live set book at this time included songs from late 1967's Surrealistic Pillow ("Plastic Fantastic Lover," "3/5 Of A Mile In 10 Seconds," "White Rabbit"), summer 1968's After Bathing At Baxter's ("Won't You Try/Saturday After-noon," "The Ballad Of You & Me & Pooneil"), and the title tune from Christmas 1968's Crown Of Creation. Die-hard fans will be drawn to three rarities: "Uncle Sam Blues" (never recorded for any JA album, but a concert favorite - it was performed at Woodstock - and a precursor of Jorma and Jack's Hot Tuna, where it became a staple); "Come Back Baby" (a Lightnin' Hopkins blues that also became a Hot Tuna standard); and the familiar JA concert-only jam session "You Wear Your Dresses Too Short." All three of these rarities (in different unissued versions) highlighted 1992's must-have three-CD box set, Jefferson Airplane Loves You. Jorma's liner notes on this new CD beatify the "beauty and strength in the roughness" of the concert, recorded when he was 28 years old. "You need to take this trip with us," he concludes.

Paul Kantner was the guitarist for Jefferson Airplane/Starship. Grace Slick could very well be referring to him when she mentions "Paul" in the song. As has already been said, sometimes a "cigar is just a cigar".

I wanted to post this in a Sgt. Pepper thread, but I ran out of time looking for the right one.
Within you Without you
We were talking -- about the space between us all And the people -- who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion Never glimpse the truth -- then its far too late -- when they pass away. These lyrics are definitley about Paul, IMHO
We were talking -- about the love we all could share -- when we find it. To try our best to hold it there -- with out love -- with our love -- we could savethe world -- if they only knew. Try to realize its all within yourself no one else can make you change And to see you're really only very small, and life flows on within you and without you We were talking -- about the love that's gone so cold -- and the people -- who gain the world and lose their soul -- they don't know -- they can't see -- are you one of them? When you've seen beyond yourself -- then you may find, peace of mind is waiting there -- And the time will come when you will see we're all one and life flows on within you and without you

Gee, that last Tom Petty song didn't have a video to go with it. So to make up for it, I'll post this! Not much goin' on in the lyrics. (But a little! ) Maybe something in the imagery then, perhaps, eh? See it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mX9-2xuyP8Learning To Fly By Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne Well I started out down a dirty road Started out all alone And the sun went down as I crossed the hill And the town lit up, the world got still I'm learning to fly, but I ain't got wings Coming down is the hardest thing Well the good ol' days may not return And the rocks might melt and the sea may burn I'm learning to fly, but I ain't got wings Coming down is the hardest thing Well some say life will beat you down Break your heart, steal your crown So I've started out, for God knows where I guess I'll know when I get there I'm learning to fly, around the clouds, But what goes up must come down I'm learning to fly, but I ain't got wings Coming down is the hardest thing ---------------------------

SHOWER THE PEOPLE James Taylor (hear it:) www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjKnHAKtYFAYou can play the game, and you can act out the part, Though you know it wasn't written for youBut tell me, how can you stand there, with your broken heart, Ashamed of playing the fool? One thing can lead to another; it doesn't take any sacrifice Oh, father and mother, and sister and brother if it feels nice, don't think twice (yes) Shower the people you love with love Show them the way that you feel Things are gonna be just fine if you only will(do as i say, yeah) Shower the people you love with love Show them the way that you feel Things are gonna be much better if you only will You can run but you cannot hide This is widely knownAnd what you plan to do with your foolish pride When you're all by yourself alone Once you tell somebody the way that you feel You can feel it beginning to ease I think it's true what they say about the squeaky wheel Always getting the grease. Better to shower the people you love with love (Yes and) show them the way that you feel (I know) Things are gonna be just fine if you only will (what i'd like to do to you) Shower the people you love with love Show them the way you feel Things are gonna be much better if you only will (better, better, better)Shower the people you love with love Show them the way that you feel They say in every life They say the rain must fall Just like the pouring rain Make it rain Make it rain Love, love, love is sunshine oh Make it rain Love, love, love is sunshine yeah Everybody, everybody, everybody, everybody (end)

From www.oleo.tv/lyrics/bay-city-rollers/its-a-game/It's a Game sung by The Bay City Rollers
The clown came down to meet me With a smile upon his face He fired his starting pistol And began the human race There were faces all around me They were running everywhere But everywhere is nowhere And nowhere isn't there
It's a game, a game, a game that we're playing Well, I don't mind but I don't make the rules It's a game, a game, a game that we're playing Just a game for lovers and fools
There's snakes upon your ladder And there's dice upon your skirt There's lipstick on my collar And there's sweat upon my shirt The neighbours will start talking But you know that I don't care For the neighbours they are nowhere And nowhere isn't there
It's a game, a game, a game that we're playing, ...

November Rain Guns 'n' Roses See it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=siBoLc9vxacThe lyrics can be found here: www.mygnr.com/lyrics/4-10.htmlRather than post the lyrics, I'll post these excerpts from Wikipedia about the song: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/November_Rain"November Rain" is a song by the band Guns N' Roses, written by Axl Rose. As well known as the song is itself, perhaps a greater amount of attention is given to the music video, which, when it was released in 1992, quickly became the most requested video on MTV, and won an MTV Video Music Award for Best Cinematography..... "The narrative quality of the video accentuated the epic nature of the song. The video entailed Axl and then girlfriend Stephanie Seymour being wed, interspersed with a live performance in a theatre. Particularly, it can be noted for its large budget (about $1.5 million) and stunning cinematography. It is currently the 9th most expensive music video ever (made). Lead guitarist Slash is prominently featured in some of the video's most memorable scenes, including an epic sequence of helicopter shots swooping around him as he plays the first guitar solo and a later scene where he plays while standing on Axl's piano onstage. Interestingly, the video for "November Rain", unlike comparable songs such as "Stairway to Heaven" and "Bat Out of Hell", uses the full version of the song as opposed to an abridged version. A theatre in downtown Los Angeles was acquired for an evening shoot that went several hours into the night, and to their credit, and unlike many other artists and bands, they didn't even mime for any of the takes. Between several differing versions of "November Rain", while the cameras on cranes that swooped close to Slash's frets were reviewed and set up for the next shot - the band entertained the 1,500 extras by playing more of their songs. Some fans consider the "November Rain", "Don't Cry", and "Estranged" music videos to be an unofficial trilogy, and, although the band has never made that statement, the similarity in production, style and plots can be considered evidence of this intent.[citation needed] "November Rain" is considered by some to be the first in the series[citation needed], as it shows Axl and Seymour getting married, and then the death of Seymour. "Don't Cry" appears to come next, with Axl reminiscing over the time he shared with Seymour, breaking down in a mental institution, and symbolically visiting his own grave. Finally, in "Estranged" we see Axl Rose come to grips with his life, and the "trilogy" is brought to an end. "November Rain" is based on the short story "Without You", by Del James this is stated at the end of the video, available in James' 1995 book The Language of Fear. That short story would have an obvious appeal to Axl Rose, as it describes the misery of a former multi-platinum blues-influenced rock star, now so drunk and drug-addled he never knows what day it is, who reminisces over an on-and-off-again relationship. He leaves this erstwhile girlfriend a telephone message, becomes concerned when she doesn't answer, and then goes to her apartment, kicking down her door to find she had just shot herself in the head while listening to his music. The lyrics to "November Rain" do not discuss the suicide issue, only the tempestuous relationship. According to one interpretation, the lyrics are from a man to a former girlfriend, saying how the troubled times (the 'cold November rain') will not last forever, and that he is willing to give her time alone if she will come back to him. The video, on the other hand, follows the short story more closely, from love and life, through to death and the funeral of the bride. Although the video doesn't explain how the girlfriend died, it can be seen, by looking at the girlfriend in the casket, that there is a line down her face; that is, a mirror. This appears at the 7:21 mark in the video. Families of head-trauma victims, who want to have an open-casket funeral, can use a mirror reflecting the intact side of the face to make the deceased appear whole. It can therefore be inferred that, as in the short story, the girlfriend was shot in the head. This scene implies that Seymour shot herself. However, another (though much less popular theory) involves an early reference in which Axl walks alone at night, past a gunshop with an open door, which can be seen at the 5:36 mark in the video. Some view this scene as an indication that Axl was the shooter: the suicide/homicide ambiguity corresponds to the storied protagonist's guilt over precipitating the suicide. Many, however, just think the gun store was a reference to the band name, because of the florists' shop adjacent to the gun shop. Some think that Axl walking past the gun store is a metaphor; that he didn't physically shoot her, but he inspired/pushed her into killing herself. Others say it shows the gun store after she has visited, and that it is an indication that Axl is too late to stop her. A last theory is that the bride was killed on the wedding day during the "November Rain" storm that begins to fall at the reception. After a lightning strike, we see the bride's bouquet hit the ground in a slow-motion sequence. This may infer that she was struck by lightning and killed instantly. Cultural References "November Rain" is referenced twice in the chorus of the song "On the Radio" by Regina Spektor: "On the radio/We heard November Rain/The solo's pretty long/But it's a pretty song" and "And on the radio/You hear November Rain/That solo's awful long/But it's a good refrain" ------------------------------------------------------- There is a lightning strike associated with Paul McCartney in some way. There are also some songs that suggest that Paul and Sylvie Vartan did "run away" and get married, but were killed just after the ceremony. Or perhaps only Sylvie was; though Paul was seriously injured. I have mentioned the David Gilmour CD "On an Island", which seems to tell the story of David Gilmour making a return visit to the island where the wedding ceremony may have taken place. While the video to this song tells the "story" of Axl Rose and his girl friend, they may have been just representing another couple.[/i]

4000, you never heard of the song Mr. Blue Sky before I was really into ELO in the 70's. I saw them at Madison Square Garden. We had seats way up front & saw everything. It was a day that I will never forget ! They were phenomenal live ! I sent that magazine on. I think I sent it to eyesbleed. Anyway, I think that song Mr. Blue is about Paul alright. It fits a little too snugly with what transpired. He wanted out, and that wasn't what TPTB had planned for him... I was in the car listening to an album that my son really likes. The name of the group is Panic In the Disco. Check out THESE lyrics ! PANIC! AT THE DISCO LYRICS ALBUM: A FEVER YOU CAN'T SWEAT OUT (2005) "The Only Difference Between Martyrdom And Suicide Is Press Coverage"***** What kind of title is that Sit tight, I'm gonna need you to keep time Come on just snap, snap, snap your fingers for me Good, good now we're making some progress Come on just tap, tap, tap your toes to the beat And I believe this may call for a proper introduction, and well Don't you see, I'm the narrator, and this is just the prologue?Swear to shake it up, if you swear to listen Oh, we're still so young, desperate for attention I aim to be your eyes, trophy boys, trophy wives Swear to shake it up, and you swear to listen Oh, we're still so young, desperate for attention I aim to be your eyes, trophy boys, trophy wives Applause, applause, no wait wait Dear studio audience, I've an announcement to make: It seems the artists these days are not who you think So we'll pick back up on that on another page ******* And I believe this may call for a proper introduction, and well Don't you see, I'm the narrator and this is just the prologue ****** I believe that someone is determined to get the message across. Swear to shake it up, if you swear to listen Oh, we're still so young, desperate for attention I aim to be your eyes, trophy boys, trophy wives Swear to shake it up, and you swear to listen Oh, we're still so young, desperate for attention I aim to be your eyes, trophy boys, trophy wives Swear to shake it up, you swear to listen Swear to shake it up, you swear to listen Swear to shake it up, you swear to listen Swear to shake it up, swear to shake it up Swear to shake it up, if you swear to listen Oh, we're still so young, desperate for attention I aim to be your eyes, trophy boys, trophy wives Swear to shake it up, if you swear to listen Oh, we're still so young, desperate for attention I aim to be your eyes I couldn't believe what I heard. I rewound it a few times to make sure. I'm going to look at the rest of the lyrics & see what shakes loose. It seems that whomever these guys are, they have a story to tell. More to come...

About the song November Rain, I have to give that some thought. I have a totally different theory about what happened between Paul & Sylvie. I think that Sylvie was killed by Johnny Hallyday, because of something that she said. I'm sure that it was an accident, which is why Johnny Hallyday tried to commit suicide later on. I think that he might've pushed her/smacked her & she hit her head, something like that... I'm pretty sure that Paul was the topic of the discussion, which caused Hallyday to bear a smoldering resentment & hatred towards him from that moment on. He blamed Paul for Sylvie's death... I am exploring all of this over at my forum Sea of Green. It's a work in progress & will be slow going. Right now, I'm trying to find authenticated dated photos of Sylvie, so that I can get a better idea exactly when it was that she died & was replaced. Son David Hallyday (later a singer in his own right) was born in August 1966; not long after, a deeply depressed Hallyday attempted suicide as his rock-and-roll career began to flounder after the British invasion and the rise of politically motivated folk music. After his recovery, he issued the despairing single "Noir, C'est Noir" as a commentary on his near-tragedy.***** Someone needs to get the lyrics to that single & translate them to English. Maybe Johnny realized that the person who had given birth to his son was not the woman that he loved ! The words to that song may give us a better idea about what was going on in his head at the time... www.cmt.com/artists/az/hallyday_johnny/bio.jhtml
