Iris (In his joo joo eyeballs) The Goo Goo (G'joob) Dolls
And I'd give up forever to touch you Cause I know that you feel me somehow You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be And I don't want to go home right now
And all I can taste is this moment And all I can breathe is your life Cause sooner or later it's over I just don't want to miss you tonight
And I don't want the world to see me Cause I don't think that they'd understand When everything's made to be broken I just want you to know who I am
And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming Or the moment of truth in your lies When everything seems like the movies Yeah you bleed just to know you're alive
And I don't want the world to see me Cause I don't think that they'd understand When everything's made to be broken I just want you to know who I am
I don't want the world to see me Cause I don't think that they'd understand When everything's made to be broken I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am I just want you to know who I am I just want you to know who I am I just want you to know who I am

I dunno. What do you think? Seems like there's something here.... Nothing Is Real But The Girl (Blondie) hear it/see it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsdemJazSVMwww.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2yNoJr93egSome days are all Mondays. Sort of time on ice. It seems like jet planes sit on runways under clear blue skies. Who needs it? Nothing is real but the girl. Nothing is real but me. Money goes to money in a figure eightAround me. Money Where will love be when you liquidate? You're drowning. Nothing is real but the girl Nothing is real but me. Now done is done You have to face the hard won days You were the one who was rolling sevens Then luck was gone A magic man without his wand Praying for 7 come 11. Wind down Put your mind down Like you're missing school I'll teach you to find out While your dying In your living room How much you need me Nothing is real but the girl Only my eyes are solid Nothing is real but me Nothing is real but the girl

This song is very simple & child like. What caught my attention is the repetition of the phrase, "look at me". This made me think of John saying, " listen to me", " in Glass Onion". For those of you who enjoy a good play on words, maybe you can find a deeper meaning to this song.
From the album "Yellow Submarine"

The "fool on the hill" who's "living there still". The Bunnymen were from Liverpool, and may know more than the rest of us. Also there's something about a great fall, like Humpty Dumpty etc. Check out this video of their "Seven Seas" and see if what's in it doesn't remind you of some of our discussions here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=429rG9Ey8TASame for "The Game" : www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmzPrAbWuJQEcho (of Paul) and the Bunny (Hippo Walrus Chicken) Men ?

Here are two from "The Who". Valis mentioned this first song in another thread. All I can say is "Hmmmm".I'VE BEEN AWAY The Who I've been away so long Wonder where I went wrong Spent the last year inside a cell Never ever go away again I've been so sad and lonely Never ever ever gonna go away again It's a waste of time doing time When you didn't commit the crime It wasn't me it was my brother Bill Emptied out the till never gonna speak to Bill again He's made me sad and lonely Never ever gonna speak to brother Bill again It was no use, they put my brother on the jury He bribed the others 'cause he owns the local brewery They let me out today Brother Bill's gonna pay No one's ever gonna speak to Bill again Never ever gonna speak to Bill again He'll be too cold and bony Never ever gonna go away again Never ever gonna go away again Never ever gonna go away again --------------------------- EARLY MORNING COLD TAXI The Who 3:36, it's cold, I know I'm growing old, With life's best side on the downward slope, It's in my own hands, I know I'll cope, My girl's with me and all my friends can see. Here I am again, Early morning cold taxi. Early morning cold taxi. Done it before, do it again, Know from experience it's not in vain, She's the best I've had, I cannot see, what someone else can do to me. It's a long way home but love's so warm, you'll see. Here I am again, Early morning cold taxi. Early morning cold taxi. Early morning cold taxi, Each time I do it, I feel so down and out, Early morning cold taxi, 'though my mind thinks strange I'll keep on, no doubt. 3:36, it's cold, I know I'm growing old, One day we'll be wed, This I know for it's what she said, Then no more will my mind be uneasy. Here I am again, Early morning cold taxi. Early morning cold taxi. This second song is reminiscent of Nilsson's "Gotta Get Up" in terms of what it portrays: a man traveling back and forth to maintain a love affair; something a "Paul" may have done with Sylvie Vartan.Since there are no videos at YouTube for the songs above, this one (which fits the bill) will have to do: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oamahR97xpA

And in the end....He's wearing a dress. See it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wY3oEvaq71AIN BLOOM (Think "Mother Nature's Son")Nirvana Sell the kids for food Weather changes moods Spring is here again Reproductive glands He’s the one Who likes all our pretty songs And he likes to sing along And he likes to shoot his gun But he knows not what it means Knows not what it means When I say He’s the one Who likes all our pretty songs And he likes to sing along And he likes to shoot his gun But he knows not what it means Knows what it means When I say in bloom We can have some more Nature is a whoreBruises on the fruit Tender age in bloom etc. This is more a dig at Faul than Paul, imo. Note the scene where they're bashing each other with the solar system. Faul's trademark involves a juggler juggling the planets, and so this appears to be a put-down of that. A put-down of the Beatles, and Faul in particular, in other words, much as Julian Lennon's "Now You're in Heaven" is (a Faul put-down) : www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2BezzVmkqA Obviously the lyrics to "In Bloom" have a transparent sexual connotation to them, so "He likes to shoot his gun" certainly sounds like doing the dirty deed. Still, I have to wonder if lyrics like "He likes to shoot his gun" and "He knows not what it means" might also allude to the deranged-Paul-locked-away-in-a-mental-institution scenario. The "Paul" glasses, and Beatle-esque sound effects on this video are quite deliberate, I'd say. As far as I know Kurt Cobain never wore glasses. Of course, Dave Grohl looks like Elvis here, so "selling the kids for food" isn't limited to the Beatles. There may, in fact, be no connection to PID/PWR here at all, but I think something is being said between the lines.

I thought I'd already posted this, but if not: REFUGEE (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) hear it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXZrveuMP4QWe got some thing we both know it, (PID/PWR)We don't talk too much about it. Ain't no real big secret; all the same, Somehow we get around it. Listen, it dont really matter to me Baby, you believe what you wanna believe. You see, you don't have to live like a refugee. Somewhere, somehow, somebody must have Kicked you around some ("Man you should have seen them kicking Edgar Allen Poe.")Tell me why you wanna lay there, Revel in your abandon? Honey, it dont make no difference to me Baby, everybody's had to fight to be free. You see, you dont have to live like a refugee! No baby, you dont have to live like a refugee! Baby, we aint the first; Im sure a lot of other lovers been burned. Right now this ain't real to you Its one of those things you got to feel to be true.Somewhere, somehow, somebody must have Kicked you around some. Who knows? Maybe you were kidnapped, Tied-up, taken away, and held for ransom.Honey, it dont really matter to me Baby, everybody's had to fight to be free. You see, you dont have to live like a refugee! No, you dont have to live like a refugee! Baby, you dont have to live like a refugee! ------ The verse in yellow may have happened to Paul, by some inferences. (MMT cartoon panels; "Monkberry Moon Delight") Afterwards Paul lived "like a refugee" - on the run - apparently.

Squeeze - Hourglass www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sIDHMsxI8wNote the first scene after the opening scene. He comes out of a casket! The lead singer even sounds like Faul! Not only the lead singer, but all the singers rise from the dead! (Were they all dead?) 4 doors shown. Now look at the lyrics: Hourglass (Squeeze) better audio on this version: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpMyyQRT4SkI feel like Im pounding on a big door, (Knockin' on Heaven's door) no one can hear me knocki-in' (Like a ghost)I feel like Im fallin' flat to the floor, no one can catch me from fallin'. (drug problems?)The hour glass has no more grains of sa-and (his life has run its course)My watch has stopped, no more turnin ha-ands We could abandon the ship, the lights are on but no one is there-ere-ere (the real Beatles have abandoned ship)chorus: Take it to the bridge, throw it overboard, see if it can swim back into the shore, (what they did to Paul? Comments coming.) no one's in the house, everyone is out (original Beatles gone)All the lights are on, and the blinds are down (new "Beatles" are recording; no one sees them)(chorus repeats) I feel like Im callin' on a telephone, no one can hear the ringi-i-in' (He's like a ghost)I feel like Im running up a steep hill, (Fool on the hill)no one can stop me from runnin (Paul on the run)The hour glass has no more grains of sa-and My watch has stopped, no more turnin ha-ands The little hand shakes its fist, the face is hangin out on a spri-i-ing (chorus repeats 3 times) The hour glass has no more grains of sa-and, little RED grains of sa-a-and (Bloody body washed up on the beach)My watch has stopped, no more turnin hands, little.... a tiny bit of info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hourglass_%28song%29

I posted this elsewhere, but I'm putting it here where people can find it: Strange Kind Of Woman Lyrics Deep Purple hear it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdMw_htV478There once was a woman, a strange kind of woman - The kind that gets written down in historyHer name was Nancy; her face was nothing fancy; (everyone knew her as Nancy)She left a trail of happiness and misery I loved her, everybody loved her She loved everyone and gave a good return I tried to take her, I even tried to break her She said, "I ain't for taking; won't you ever learn?" I want you, I need you, I gotta be near you - (got to get you into my life)I spent my money as I took my turn. I want you, I need you, I gotta be near you Oh I got a strange kind of woman She looked like a raver, but I could never please her On Wednesday mornings boy you can't go far. ("She's Leaving Home"/PID.)I couldn't get her, but things got better: She said, "Saturday nights, from now on, baby you're my star!" She finally said she loved me, I wed her in a hurryNo more callers and I glowed with pride. I'm dreaming, I feel like screaming; I won my woman just before she died!I want you, I need you, I gotta be near you I spent my money as I took my turn I want you, I need you, I gotta be near you Oh I got a strange kind of woman This sounds to me like the relationship Paul alledgedly had with Sylvie Vartan. I don't get the "Nancy" part, but maybe her friends called her that.

The Wind Cries Mary Jimi Hendrix hear it/see it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iNcH7wr99Ywww.youtube.com/watch?v=A-lIhikpMloAfter all the jacks are in their boxes, And the clowns have all gone to bed, You can hear happiness staggering on down the street. Footsteps dressed in redAnd the wind whispers "Mary". A broom is drearily sweeping Up the broken pieces of yesterday's life.Somewhere a queen is weeping. Somewhere a king has no wife. And the wind, it cries "Mary". The traffic lights, they turn, uh, blue tomorrow And shine their emptiness down on my bed. The tiny island sags down stream ' cause the life that lived is, Is dead! And the wind screams "Mary". Uh-will the wind ever remember The names it has blown in the past? And with this crutch, its old age, and its wisdom, It whispers, "No, this will be the last." And the wind cries "Mary". ---------------------------------------------------------- I hardly know where to begin with this one. Happiness walks like a ghost in the night, staggering with bloody feet. ("Paul is very bloody.") A broom sweeps up the pieces of Paul's ("Yesterday"s) life. A queen is weeping (His bride to-be. I believe Sylvie Vartan.) A king has no wife (because he's dead, or not who he "was".)
The traffic lights turn blue (in despair - "He didn't notice that the lights had changed.") The tiny island sags down stream - ("On an Island", where the wedding was to have taken place. * The island is so forlorn it just wants to sink and flow away.) "The life that lived is dead" - PID, or the lively version of Paul was dead.
The wind screams - ("The wild and windy night, that the rain washed away") Even the wind realizes what a terrible thing has happened, and vows it will be the last time it will be "the broom" to sweep away the pieces of someone's life.
Paul's mother was named Mary. The Blessed Mother is named Mary.
What an incredibly sad song! * "Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been; Lives in a dream. Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door Who is it for?" The bride who waits for a groom who never comes? She wistfully picks up rice from someone else's wedding, wishing it was from her wedding. She lives in a dream that her wedding will some how, some day take place; waiting by the door for her man to come, but he never does, because he's 'dead'. Why doesn't the groom ever come? He didn't make it. He was in a car crash. She is in 'denial', hoping he'll recover enough to be who he was, and that life will be as it was, but "Nobody came."

Gemini Dream (Paul was a Gemini. ;D) The Moody Blues
see it/ hear it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZ8ddZaNJFc
Long time no see Short time for you and me We're on the road Like you knew we would
First night, so long A state of mind What can go wrong? We're here; the time is right To rock n roll Right through the night (the 'night' of Bush/Cheney etc.)
Make it work out Make it work Make it work out Make it work out For each other tonight
State fright, candle light You can let go Tonight's the night Came back for you Glad to see That you came too
There's a place - a gemini dream There's no escaping from the love we have seen So come with me, turn night to day You gonna wake up You know you're gonna wake up in a gemini dream
Turned round to see Where we've been And what we believe in: life, love Take a chance See it through You'll be glad That you came too.
There's a place a gemini dream Theres no escaping from the love we have seen So come with me, turn night to day You gonna wake up (Good Morning, good morning!) You know you're gonna wake up in a gemini dream
Long time no see The lights go up For you and me We're here; The time is right To rock n roll Right through the night
Living it Believing it Wanting it Make it work out Make it work Make it work out Make it work out For each other tonight
Long time no see Short time for you and me So fine so far so good We're on the road (the long and winding road) Like you knew we would
A song about the Beatle/Moody Blues mission in the guise of a love song. On the surface, the song sounds like a "We're back on the road, touring" message to the fans, but the "Gemini Dream" is the "Number 9 Dream" of Peace on Earth (POE). The dream is to get through "the night" without war or self-destruction. And the dream is not over.

In post number 95, I wrote about the song "Nature Boy" that was a big hit for Nat King Cole in 1948. Although what I'm about to say makes no sense logically, it does appear that many of Nat King Coles songs work well as "Paul Is Dead" clues, including "Nature Boy", "Straighten Up and Fly Right", "Darling Je Vous Aimes Beacoups" and "Route 66". Why and how this would have occured is beyond me, but it certainly is fascinating! Anyway, the story of Eden Ahbez, the person who wrote "Nature Boy" is now up at Wikipedia, and my mind is completely blown! He was not in anyway part of the song-writing "establishment" in the 1940's. I'll post the wikipedia bio of him, but first, here's the song "Nature Boy" again. It seems to anticipate Paul McCartney ("Mother Nature's Son") long before anyone had ever heard of the Beatles: hear it:www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRcn2YXaHoowww.youtube.com/watch?v=I3WHZ5vcyWo (Bowie version) Nature Boy (Eden Ahbez) There was a boy... A very strange enchanted boy. They say he wandered very far, very far Over land and sea, A little shy and sad of eye But very wise was he. And then one day, A magic day, he passed my way. And while we spoke of many things, Fools and kings, This he said to me, "The greatest thing you'll ever learn Is just to love and be loved in return ----------------- Now look at the bio for Eden Ahbez! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eden_AhbezEden Ahbez (April 15, 1908 – March 4, 1995), born Alexander Aberle in Brooklyn, New York and adopted by a Kansas family and raised under the name George McGrew, was a songwriter and recording artist from the 1940s-1960s, whose lifestyle in California was influential on the hippie movement. He refused to use capital letters to spell his name. Ahbez composed the song "Nature Boy", which became a #1 hit for eight weeks in 1948 for Nat "King" Cole. He lived a bucolic life. From at least as early as the 1940s, he travelled in sandals and wore shoulder-length hair and beard, and white robes. He camped out below the first L in the Hollywood sign above Los Angeles, studied Oriental mysticism, and claimed to live on three dollars a week, sleeping outdoors with his family, and eating vegetables, fruits, and nuts. He was known to friends as ahbe. Life story During the 1930s, McGrew/Ahbez lived in Kansas City, and probably also in New York City for some time, although little is known of that period of his life. In 1941 he arrived in Los Angeles, and began playing piano in the Eutropheon, a small health food store and raw food restaurant on Laurel Canyon Blvd. The cafe was owned by John and Vera Richter, German immigrants who followed a "naturmensch" and "lebensreform" philosophy. Their followers, known as "Nature Boys" and who included Robert "Gypsy Boots" Bootzin, wore long hair and beards, and ate only raw fruits and vegetables. It is likely that McGrew discovered Eastern philosophy and mysticism during this period, adopting the name "eden ahbez", and choosing to spell his name with lower-case letters, claiming that only God was worthy of capitalization. In 1947, he approached Nat "King" Cole's manager backstage at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, and handed him the music for his song, "Nature Boy". Cole began playing the song for live audiences to much acclaim, but needed to track down its author before releasing his recording of it. Ahbez was discovered living under the HOLLYWOOD sign, and became the focus of a media frenzy when Cole's version of "Nature Boy" shot to #1 on the Billboard charts, and remained there for 8 consecutive weeks during the summer of 1948. Ahbez was covered simultaneously in Life, Time and Newsweek magazines, and Frank Sinatra and Sarah Vaughan released versions of the song. Ahbez also faced legal action from Yiddish musical composer Herman Yablakoff, who claimed that the melody to "Nature Boy" came from one of his songs, "Sveig Mein Hartz" ("Be Still My Heart"), which Ahbez could have heard when living in New York. The action was apparently settled out of court. Ahbez continued to supply Cole with songs, including "Land of Love (Come My Love and Live with Me)". He also worked closely with jazz musician Herb Jeffries, and in 1954 the pair collaborated on an album, The Singing Prophet, which included the only recording of Ahbez's four-part "Nature Boy Suite". The album was later reissued as Echoes of Eternity on Jeffries' United National label. In the mid-1950s he wrote songs for Eartha Kitt, Frankie Laine and others, also writing some rock 'n' roll novelty songs. In 1957, his song "Lonely Island" was recorded by Sam Cooke, becoming the second and final Ahbez composition to hit the Top 40. In 1959, he began recording instrumental music, which combined his signature sombre tones with exotic arrangements and (according to the record sleeve) "primitive rhythms". He often performed bongo, flute and poetry gigs at beat coffeehouses in the Los Angeles area. In 1960, he recorded his only solo LP, Eden’s Island, for Del-Fi Records. This mixed beatnik poetry with exotica arrangements. Many consider it as one of the weirdest exotica records ever created, and it was not a commercial success. During the 1960s, he released only three obscure singles, but became recognised as an influence by younger musicians. Grace Slick's band The Great Society recorded a version of "Nature Boy", and Ahbez was photographed in the studio in early 1967 with Brian Wilson during a session for the Smile album. Later that year, singer Donovan tracked him down for a reportedly "near-telepathic" conversation. Thereafter Ahbez faded into obscurity. He died in 1995 due to injuries from a car accident. Another album, Echoes from Nature Boy, was released posthumously."

(I think Paul suffered from blindness after a blow to the head)I wasted time Wasted, wasted, wasted time Walkin' on the wire, high wire But I must let the show go on. Oh, I'm so blind Oh, I'm blind I wasted time Wasted, wasted, all too much time Walkin' on the wire, high wire But I must let the show go on Baby, I wish you'd help me escape, Help me get away! Leave me outside my address, Far away from this masquerade'Cause I've been blind Oh, so blind I wasted time Wasted, wasted, all too much time Walkin' on the wire, high wire But I must let the show go.. I must let the show go.. I must let the show go on Notice that the band, being conducted from the rear by a goulish 'Billy Shakespears'e slowly grinds down to a halt. This is similar to the "descent into madness" ending of Faul's "Anyway", or the speeding-up end of Harry Nilsson's "Gotta Get Up". The point is that Paul burned out and went into madness, which is probably why he's Mr. Bellamy in the mental institution in that Faul song. And why he's Elton John's "mad man across the water". But then he died....for a while. Of particular interest here is the plea for "Baby" to help him escape in the third verse. Listen to the sobby interpretation by the singer here. I suspect that Paul arranged for Sylvie to help him escape from an imprisonment of some sort in France. The plan seems to have been that they would "run away" to an island, and get married, and live in anonymity. There are so many songs that have been written about this (imo) that it's almost stunning. I've posted many of them here. The Doors "Not To Touch the Earth", about the actual escape, is one of them.
