Thanks mindgames I really appreciate that!!
Mike, get your tunes online, look at the upload thread and crack on....
I know you probs don't mean it that way but please don't abuse, I don't care what u do but I recorded vocals and guitar on my own just for the hell of it, I didn't bother capturing anything.

doesn't doing an album together mean that we are doing an album together? i build some layers on top of it... i enjoyed doing it but if you guys meant record your own version, you should have said so, because i thouht this was the idea...

Its good to see this things getting off the ground a little well - a lot.. I'm well on my way to recovery now so my intention is to get some stuff up within the weekend. See, this is how I was envisioning it when we first discussed this whole thing. It's great ;D

Mike took over my avatar and took over my album project can you take over my bills too? Seriously Mike what we need to do is a small demo of part of Sgt Pepper and layer in our voices as a demo to see if it is even possible, so I don't care if you play along with your vocal track we just need to start one step at a time before we cross this mountain. So if we are all clear on this 1st step let us carry on, Where are your samples Mike? Or did I misunderstand your post?

ok - i know how i said i'd have some stuff up by the end of the weekend.. well - i kinda.. just.. got high - and forgot...
but still, I like what I'm seeing; with a bit of direction and control this could turn out quite nicely.. and I promise I'll do something during the week, either layering on top of existing stuff or something new

Cripes... I'm so sorry guys - this was really badly timed for me. Its so hard to find the time now I have a job But I will try my best ASAP as the holidays are coming up, so that should give me more than sufficient time. Plus the major thing holding me back was having only 5 (1 1/2 year old) strings on my guitar. Thanks to the magic of moolah I now have six brand-spanking new strings and so I'm getting back on the hoss again (so to speak) .. also thanks to the magic of moolah I have a terrabit/byte (??) of HDD space, so my PC is finally back from the dead.... In short - I should be contributing momentarily ;D ...we apologise for the long wait....

well , you didn't say it was on there.. so i didn't had a reason to look in the upload folder but, 3 things: 1. i liked sgt. pepper a lot.. lucy is a little bit less 2. if you can keep it to the timings of sgt pepper, and do multitrack 3. can you sing closer to the mic? i noticed you bumped up the volume to make it louder, but this brings unwanted sound to it but still i enjoyed listening to it, and added it to my iTunes lib. just like i did with sgt pepper good job!

Hey, i've been working hard to create a solid drumtrack with matching vocals, since Sgt. Pepper doesn't has a solid base, the drumspeed varies. 23/12:Bass:www.jojoplace.org/uploads/SgtPeppersLonelyHeartsClubBandBass.mp3Bass with Vocalswww.jojoplace.org/uploads/SgtPeppersLonelyHeartsClubBandBasswVocal.mp3Drumswww.jojoplace.org/uploads/SgtPeppersLonelyHeartsClubBandDrum.mp3Drums with Vocalswww.jojoplace.org/uploads/SgtPeppersLonelyHeartsClubBandDrumwVocal.mp3Drums, Vocals and Basswww.jojoplace.org/uploads/SgtPeppersLonelyHeartsClubBandDrumwVocalandBass.mp3Vocalswww.jojoplace.org/uploads/SgtPeppersLonelyHeartsClubBandVocal.mp325/12:this layer contains the middle section solo trumpet i did.. and the solo in the beginning. the solo is not synced and not so nice.. www.jojoplace.org/uploads/SgtPeppersLonelyHeartsClubBandTrumpetandintroSolo.mp329/12:This contains the latest adjustments i made today, added rythm guitar, horns and applause www.jojoplace.org/uploads/sgtpepper2_Master.mp3You can load it up in software like audition or soundbooth and multitrack it, add your own instrument to it or replace the drumtrack with a real one, if you have a good set of vocal chords, please add them, and if you have a real bass please add it! let's make this a very special Sgt. Pepper with a solid base we can all work on Mike

True Mike, seriously though you prefer my pepper to lucy? IMO lucy is better, you do a good version yourself, however my recordings are both just rustic, crappy throwaway recordings, and I never boosted the volume for the record!!! I've got a decent mic, it's just the program I use I think... Thanks though anyway

if anyone can post a picture of himself that is/going to contributing to the album.. that would be great what are your plans for that, mike? it could be quite interesting thats more along the lines of how i saw it turning out. so long as we each own the constituent parts of the song we can put them in a multitrack format on whichever software each of us uses - i dont think using session files would work across the board as some programmes are just completely incompatible with others. is anyone having trouble getting onto jojosplace by the way?

a-ha.. it works. I'm a-listening right now
Paul: I really like your vocals. Mike is right, it is a little quiet - but like you say, you record with a rustic sound. I think however that you should record your vocals and guitar separately, if only for the sake of the multi-tracking.
Mike: Thats a nice collection to get us started there. I think I could add to that quite nicely. You definitely have the right idea with the whole multi-tracking thing.
and thank you jojo for jojosplace by the way ;D
My mission this afternoon then is to try and add some fills to your drum-track, sequence the horns etc and overdub a guitar/guitars..
