I found the famous Mal Evans home movie, the one with the Kenya footage. It's really a dull 20 something minutes, but it does have its "freeze frame" moments. That's something I'll work on shortly, but for now have a look at it. It's about 50MB, Real Video format. www.jojoplace.org/Shoebox/Magical_Mystery_Trip.rm

If only I had the patience to download that thing, but I'm on a dial-up connection, so by the time it finished, the current Paul really would be dead.
I'll be looking forward to seeing those "freeze frame" moments.

This reminded me of another picture looking into a movie camera from 2 years previous:

great stills, JoJo! i noticed about the "best wishes, paul mccartney" too. what was that? there were several like that, with the same text. probably nothing, but i noticed it. and on the 4th still, d** he looks skinny there! and i'm always amazed at how different his face looked from one scene to the next one. great video, JoJo!! thanks for sharing.

I don't want to "read anything into" those stills that isn't really there, but I get the impression of cross fades and slight double exposures or super-imposures on, well, a few of these frames. A bit difficult to describe. I do see motton chops and granny glasses and what seems to be a back angle near profile of Lennon in picture number 13 or 14 (hard scrolling just now) looking our aspect left at Bill?Paul against wall on left side photo. Also, there are some troubling faint images half suggested in the brush behind Bill?Paul? in a way that is very nearly subliminal, or just a result of little sleep on my part. Perhaps the resolution on my screen needs an new setting. Anyone else? Thank you,JoJo.

It seems that that last scene something was done, like it becomes fuzzy like it was put through a blur filter, and indeterminate weird ghostly images are superimposed there. If it's something recognizable, or of meaning, I don't know.

You can't see a couple of disturbing images?
Please look closely at the pic second down from "continued" at the right side of the photo, the the right of Bill's hair. If you pick out what I think I see, well, all I can say is, brace yourself.
If not, I gotta stop looking at these pictures. "60IF" suggestion is at work.

It could be just a digital artifact. One thing that struck me as odd is how short Faul's hair is cut. Seems rather conservative for a Beatle on vacation.

OK, let's just say that there are what one calls "digital artifacts" in the background that have an eery twinge. Prefer to not think about it.
Also, the signature card with Macca autograph........re: Billy Nickelaas or Mickelaus? Does that read there?
4 pics from the bottom, you do see Lennon it the pic, right? Now, my roommate saw that one right off the bat--so, check it out.

Holy mother of pearl, those are great!
One question... is there anywhere in this home movie where "Paul" has his mouth open wide enough so we can get a clear shot of his teeth? I'm very interested in comparing them, but late '66 "Paul" images are so hard to find.

....something like a distorted mask of a human face; or worse, a deceased person's face in a "ghastly state." I percieve it in the area of nearly the whole right third of the picture. Bill's?Paul's/ hairline, the back of his head, which seems very flat, forms a border with what looks like an overlay photo in a faint contrast. VERY faint contrast. I perceive a rectangularly shaped outline of a photo, as one would expect an 8x12, laying at an skewed angle compared to the photo in question. There seems to be a photo border crossing into the sky from the trees at a diagonal. But the main thing is the face appears to be lacking a left eye, a tortured, hyper-extended mouth and jaw, an implied set of lower teeth but no uppers. The top of the head appears round and lacks hair. The left eye (of the face) is rolled to the side and corpse-like, nose is obscured or partly missing. Not pretty. It may just be a mask that's been messed up. Or, I may be clinically insane, or just entirely TOO susceptable to the memory and suggestion of 60IF.
If none of you see this, then clearly I need to think on a new set of issues as soon as possible! Am I just projecting things? Oops. Time for a tune-up................

Does this face look familiar, by any chance?

No, it looks distorted, grotesque. NOw, the subject matter of this forum speaks to James Paul, but I can't say that it looks like him from what see. It may just be an absurd mask that's been altered a little. The overall photographic texture is too hazy and diffuse to get much beyond what I said. I hope its a mask from another shot dissolving into this frame, or some incidental "Rorshach" confusion that we get when we're tired, especially with indistinct pictures. Doesn't it pop out at anyone else?
I guess I'll open the Riesling I bought recently.
