A very nice thread indeed! Well, I shall endeavor to discover more patience within myself, and pass it along to others as I go along my way!
Unclear? Well, sometimes the road is clear, and my mind is clear, and sometimes not! So now I go to sleep hoping to wake up very clear headed for another lovely day!

OK, OK, I admit it. I am addicted to television. Again. For the second time. The first time was from, oh, about 1963 thru about 1974.
For around 33 years I watched on a minimal basis.
Then something happened to me in 2007 and I was right back at the trough.
OMG!!! My Big 10!
Nashville, The Good Wife, SVU, Elementary, Unforgettable (it's coming back), Once Upon a Time, Covert Affairs, Dallas (the new one), NCIS, and Grimm!!!
Oh, I watched all the CSI's, Law and Orders, Hawaii 5-O's, etc, but I have defaulted pretty much to the above list (plus movies....)
I am weak for TV.

When I heard it on the radio that afternoon I wept. I wept three times the first day I heard about it. I adored her and her talent.

Who? Well, it's Paul McCartney. Don't be silly! I like the jacket and want one, though the way it closes in front is hard to deduce from this photo.....

I don't really have a point, other than to see how it is going and tell everyone "Hello!" and wish all a wonderful April. Maybe I will have a point soon! It might be political, or about one of my favorite 13 TV shows, or a remark about a new Macca song, or just a memory of one of my favorite screeds of yesteryear. We shall see.....
Hello everyone!

But my favorite was always: Hey Jude, don't let me down> I don't know why---but I think it was because it was the kind of thing one buddy says to another as a vote of confidence, like, he believes in you, so don't let him down because he KNOWS that you can do it right; you can do well. And sometimes we all need that little vote of confidence! I know you can do it! Don't let me down! But anyway, I haven't been here in while, and Ijust drank a martini and a half (oh, yes, where has the Bailey's gone? Now it's all about gin? Yes. It's gin these days....) But I digress. So, I had a dream. Yes, another DAMN dream, a Beatles dream! Can you imagine? And on a night and in fact within a week of remembering no other dreams. So I was backstage, somewhere, and a nice lady in a yellow dress said to me, And now, you are among the original Beatles. Well, they all looked the same as we know now; and they left the backstage for a moment, but Paul was sitting in repose on top of something about 2.5 feet high in a dark suit, with a design. He was face away; and a techie asked him a question about something technical, and Paul sat up, got awake, rubbed his face and answered him, with a tired sort of style. He continued speaking, and turned around to face me, and then I could see him. And, well, it WAS Paul, and, oddly, I seemed to recognize him, although I have no memory now of how he looked in the dream , but, it was, somehow, what I thought he had looked like, and we talked on, ignorant of me, and what he revealed in his talking was a sort of malaise, a kind of boredom, a wish to be done with he touring and to go on and do something else. It had all become very.......day to day and he was sad and wanted to stop! At a couple of points I tried to speak, but somehow, no one heard me. I finally realized that no one COULD hear me, because I was NOT there! I thought I was at a concert in late '65 or maybe even '66..... He was over it, and going thru the motions from obligation. Then the other Beatles "re-entered", and they got their gear and were ushered on stage (out of sight), and I woke up! So, all really got from that rare, happenstance dream was somehow the feeling that he was as good as done and wished to do something (but what?) different. And that was it, I have remembered no more dreams since (3 weeks ago), and in fact, I had not even been thinking about the Beatles when it that dream happened. How odd my dream life. Well, a tour can be rough, and it can take everything we have to rustle up the enthusiasm and verve and deliver the next show with great enthusiasm! Perhaps my dream meant nothing at all, and was totally random. I can't claim that it meant anything. But, its my way of saying, hello again! And much happiness and joy to all those in this interesting undertaking! Hi DOC!!! interesting: JPM - 'retire' Frost - 'when? JPM - 'way things are going, a couple a years.' Interview '64 + 2 yrs just happens to lead us to... link- Could he have been more serious than most thought? (well, it looks like he did leave the scene folks, so...) Yep! Possibly so. Just sayin'...... There was a USA TV network series on that just finished up 5 or 6 seasons and went off--I think the title of it was "In Plain Sight". It was most enjoyable. Anyone else like it? I'm sorry, --what? OK, yea. The lead character Mary Shannon handles her job amazingly well.

....after I have had enough Bloody Mary's, and THEN I will launch full steam ahead into Cocktail/Rag/Boogie/Liberace arrangements of every Beatle's song in the book. Yes, I own the book. That's not owning the book. Haven't you had enough Bloody Maries yet, Doc? Well, true enough, I don't own, "THE" book. I do have a purchased volume of the Beatles Fake Book that cost me a smooth $29.95 back in '05 or so. Or was it $39.95? So, I have, in fact, merely "a" book. I am not sure, though, I could ever comprehend exactly what "owning the book" might entail..... So, I will merely continue to flip through the pages and create my own spontaneous arrangements of brilliant worlds of song. I'll be inTONE-ing the book.

Is DOC heading north for this union? I say Doc needs to share his blessing by performing at the reception....but for the sake of all the citizens of Montreal, leave the lederhosen at home.....LOLOL Don't know if Montreal is ready for cocktail/oompa Beatles.... Years ago, when taking a BUS trip to Montreal, there was a place called" the Dungeon", where actors and singers performed in full costume like they did centuries ago in medieval times, in a basement, and eating food like people did in those days, being entertained with jesters and minstrels...you only had a knife to eat with... Maybe the place is still there and Doc and some of the other talented Paul is Replaced folks can serve as jesters and minstrels.... Poor DOC, we are really making some strange musical arrangements for your career ain't we? From lederhosen to jesting ... Sorry Valis...we're planning you're wedding reception.....and you haven't even been to Montreal yet... I had been, from January 1975 until June of 2011, crazy, insane busy in my "craft" or talent or whatever the heck it is supposed to be. Considering the relative "thinness" of things in the last 6-7- months, I now honestly consider both lederhosen(spelling?) and jesting as exciting, provocative new directions...... When is the Montreal affair slated to begin? If I am to play, I may keep it all standards with, mayhaps, bits of Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond thrown in. Until......after I have had enough Bloody Mary's, and THEN I will launch full steam ahead into Cocktail/Rag/Boogie/Liberace arrangements of every Beatle's song in the book. Yes, I own the book. Sing along and put dollars (Canadian only) in my brandy snifter. And Valis, congratulations to you, sir!

Well, for a while I thought there might have been a Paul for 1964, a different one for 1965, and then the newest one, today's so called Billy/William etc. for 1966. Imean, i haven't thought about all this much in about 2 years, but as I sit and reflect on the whole business, I really can't say now that I have any idea what 1964 Paul might have looked like; I mean how was he different from Bill, and, well, I really don't know. I have tried to draw what I thought might have been correct, but as I remember those images, well, I don't remember ever seeing those images as real people. I guess what I am realizing is, I have no idea what Paul looked like in 1964, because in 1968 I thought I remembered what that was, but, and maybe I did, but I sure as heck can't remember now. I have absolutely no idea. That is frustrating, because I have nothing to point to or indicate whatever that "image" could have been. What could I have been clinging to? I mean, well, he looked essentially like Paul but a little more, well, uhm, a little bit more, uhm, I have no idea. I just don't know. It's all so vague now. And I honestly can't imagine reviewing all the pictures at this point, thousands and thousands, no I can't study all of those again--it's too much, it's simple too much. I just have to be happy with the memory of how grand the Beatles were, how great their music still is, and how wonderful Sir Paul (Derrick Hallibeck? Quentin McGibbons? Clarence Shulter?) is in his maintaining it all, and still writing, composing, playing, singing, performing, keeping the Beatle music alive and adding in hundreds of more songs of his own, I'll just enjoy the continuing success of James Paul McCartney and all his friends.

Ragtime Beatles....Cocktail Beatles....couldn't be any worse than MUZAK Beatles found in Dr's offices or elevators....but not quite to the level of the Kazoo Beatles...or the Jug Band...and let's not forget "Oompa" Beatles.... the ooompa version of Ob la di, Ob la da...well....words can't really describe 4 middle aged men in lederhosen performing Beatle songs at Oktoberfest.... DOC.....don't worry, we won't demand lederhosen as part of your dress code....Maybe if you come dressed as Mr. Spock...we'll confuse the folks and think they've missed the Valis Tour, and turned left at Alberquerkee and ended up at a Star Trek Convention. ;D

So we're all agreed that the party is at Lovely Rita's palatial estate? The Top 10 Greatest Songs of all Time (or not)www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_i1WwxD97QI just threw in the songs for the helluvit. These songs make a good case for themselves. Well, they all had a kind of "maximum impact" on people's lives, etc.

Well, I'm hosting this party on my palatial estate, I will demand/expect that DOC will be performing at this event.....I would rather have a pianist than the 100 pc Polka Band that "polkas" the entire Beatles' catalog...After all, Beatle music has to be performed, and the Indian Smoke Signal Troupe will be doing the Beatles' medley on the musical rocks...so they are not going to be available for the next 3 years...they plan a state wide tour...they travel on a rennovated Connestoga Wagon and that's why it takes 3 years to tour the entire state. Valis will be given the Presidential Suite at the Governor's Mansion...and that is quite an accomplishment! I never know WHERE I might turn up! hehehe Polka haunt us! Sadly, I put together an endless, 43 tune Beatles medley back in 2004. That show, well, there was no guitarist, so I am afraid perhaps we sounded a bit ragtime/cocktail lounge for the better part of it. I am planning ANOTHER Beatles medley for our February 2012 show; it will only feature songs from 1960 thru 1964, so we'll have to be very clever once again. Now, the Beatles production methods improved with every album, heck, maybe every song even. So, at least, the earlier days were more straightforward, but, hang it, we need a guitar and we won't have one then. Jeepers, I should have learned guitar! Maybe the bass player can do it and I'll resort to keyboard bass. Well, we'll see, won't we. I'll post a recording after we close the show. We must surpass our results from 2004 or I shall be quite sad. The Beatles really weren't ragtime or cocktail......

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats. I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land. Seek him that maketh the Seven Stars and Orion,
and turneth the shadow of death into the morning,
and maketh the day dark with night:
that calleth for the waters of the sea,
and poureth them out upon the face of the earth:
The LORD is his name: -- Amos 5:8 iameye, you are a wise and great philosopher/seeker/wiseman, I enjoy your insights and also your keen, analytical perspective on all these issues; enjoy your posts, thank you. I, frankly do not know what it all means, though I do have a respect and a regard for the Lord, for Jesus Christ, for "TPTB", and for the labyrinth of both joy and tumult into which we all, the peoples of the world, have been introduced. One day we shall all know much more and understand more fully the purpose of this age.

Macca has another CD on it's way; it's a jazz album featuring some types of classic songs in a jazzy style; has anyone heard anything about it? What songs were picked; when is the release; how was it working with Diana Krall? And then there is to be a rock collection after that; Macca will do covers of a number of rock songs but Ican't find anything specific about these works. Anyone know?
