www.imdb.com/title/tt0407157/Hmm, I`ll see your Weissmuller and raise you a Buffalo Hey, Bungalow Bill What did you kill Bungalow Bill? "‘Bungalow Bill’ was written about a guy in Maharishi's meditation camp who took a short break to go shoot a few poor tigers, and then came back to commune with God. There used to be a character called Jungle Jim, and I combined him with Buffalo Bill." www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZ7PAGGmuHA

So we have Lewis Carroll on the cover of Sgt. Pepper, we have at least two songs on Pepper that parody his Looking Glass story, and one of those songs calls the story out by name. The action in Carroll's story takes place on a giant chess board. Alice starts as the White Queen's pawn and moves from square to square until she reaches the eighth square, where she becomes a queen. At the seventh square she meets a knight who wears a peculiar box: `I see you're admiring my little box.' the Knight said in a friendly tone.In the image below, taken from Pepper's inner gatefold photo, you can see that George wears a little box on his uniform: On the front cover of Pepper, George has a "mane" on the back of his head: On the back cover he holds his fingers in an "L" shape, symbolic of the way the knight, or horse, moves on the chessboard. John made a pun about this in Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite when he said, "Henry the Horse dances the waltz." The waltz dance step is "L" shaped. A horse that dances the waltz is a knight on a chess board. If this is not enough to convince you that George plays the role of a knight on Sgt. Pepper, consider this: In 1974, George released an album that is remarkably suggestive of Sgt Pepper, and he called it Darkhorse: The game is chess. To quote John again, "You can learn how to play the game. It's easy. All you need is LOVE." Now consider the movements of the major chess pieces: knight, queen, bishop, and rook. L = Knight, can only waltz O = Queen, able to circle the board V = Bishop, diagonal E = Rook, straight lines -j An Alphabet A is for Parrot which we can plainly see B is for glasses which we can plainly see C is for plastic which we can plainly see D is for Doris E is for binoculars I’ll get in five F is for Ethel who lives next door G is for orange because we love to eat when we can get them because they come from abroad H is for England and (Heather) I is for monkey we see in the tree J is for parrot which we can plainly see K is for shoetop we wear to the ball L is for Land because brown K is for Venezula where the oranges come from N is for Brazil near Venezuela (very near) O is for football which we kick about a bit T is for Tommy who won the war Q is a garden which we can plainly see R is for intestines which hurt when we dance S is for pancake or whole-wheat bread U is for Ethel who lives on the hill P is arab and her sister will V is for meW is for lighter which never lights X is for easter–have one yourself Y is a crooked letter and you can’t straighten it Z is for Apple which we can plainly see This is my story both humble and true Take it to pieces and mend it with glue

This is somewhat more complete. In Strawberry Fields Forever, in the first verse.. "Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to..." mellotron morse-like code "Strawberry Fields." Remember, Strawberry Fields was the first song recorded for Pepper, but was released as a single with Penny Lane instead. ( George Martin's biggest regret apparently) Also apparently, walrus was morse in old english as well as french. I like the walrus moustache part too "A Conspiracy of Silence Speaks Louder Than Words" Don't forget Sub Rosa Subway..

Thanks for looking B,
Now, I'm just saying that Mr Pytka wasn't being entirely truthful in his explanation... I don't want to get too deep into that story, I merely want to point out that Joe Pytka would be foolish not to include a beatle in a Beatles video especially if that beatles asked specifically...
For me it serves to draw attention in a roundabout way to George Formby himself, according to Beatle lore, a childhood idol of Lennon, whom Lennon would see on his porch with his wife and wave at when he was going through Blackpool..
George Formby's most famous movie was called Let George Do It, a WWII comedy. It really is a clever and fun movie, but the most important part to me is the morse code used to convey messages to German U-boats. Formby's character is an accidental spy who breaks the code being sent in music by a double agent..... here's the part of the movie where the code is being sent...
What does morse code have to do with the Beatles you ask?
Strawberry Fields Forever.....

What is Bagism? "What’s Bagism? It’s like...a tag for what we all do, we’re all in a bag ya know, and we realised that we came from two bags - I was in this pop bag going round and round in my little clique, and she was in her little avant-garde clique going round and round, and you’re in your little tele clique and they’re in their...ya know? And we all sort of come out and look at each other every now and then, but we don’t communicate. And we all intellectualize about how there is no barrier between art, music, poetry... but we’re still all - I’m a rock and roller, he’s a poet... So we just came up with the word so you would ask us what bagism is, and we’d say WE’RE ALL IN A BAG BABY!"

Hey Jo , thanks man, good to see you all again I captured that frame from Ringo's 1978 tv special, the one with Ognir Rrats... Yep, the jackets, but also the dark background and the camera angle.. Have a look at the special again, do a little 'substitution'... The old switcheroo. Remember this thread.. invanddis.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=links&action=display&thread=6049&page=1That's the back of Ognir's head btw

Yep, it was the pics of pre 67 Paul that clued me into this effect. He had an attached earlobe, that's true. Certain pics show the shadow line and create an illusion of a detached lobe. This only goes to show..Proper analysis requires care and attention to detail. One cannot become an expert by looking at a couple of pictures. The lens affects each picture, just as the observer influences what is observed. It is within each of our abilities to discern what photographs are showing us, but we need to take the time before coming to conclusions. If someone says or writes something that challenges our existing belief system, it would do us well to rule it out or rule it in before we make a knee-jerk response.. Quote- Dear, YOUR " direction of illumination " is clearly wrong. According to YOUR arrow Faul's right forehead could be in the shadow. So actually it is EXACTLY the opposite.
Well, honey-pie, since illumination can come from many directions at once , especially outdoors, I suppose I could have said Predominant Direction of Illumination. But I didn't. It's plain to see that there is shadow between his left side of nose and cheek , there is a shadow on his left eye closest to his nose and that his right side is less illuminated than his left. Also, he casts a shadow on Linda's left side..If I had a three dimensional arrow perhaps I could have indicated the direction somewhat more precisely, but I think what I put is adequate. I like this thread, with all the sanctimony and melodrama, but what it really needs is pictures of Paul's replacement from 1966/67, posted by those who have taken the time to look...
